Two years later I'm still astonished and grateful for everyone's feedback! I get a lot of requests about the music, so here is a complete list. In the years that have passed, all the songs used except Rising Force Remix are albums available for purchase (can't change the end credits).

13 years later, when most younger people have never even heard of Babylon 5, this still stands. My nephew introduced me to not only Babylon 5, but WarCraft and StarCraft back in the 90s. Phenomenal.

B5 Battles were realistic, the sight of Star Furys dropping like Tie Fighters in to empty space before launching was awesome. The ship designs very original and diverse.
That moment where the vree ship is laser machine gunning down all those shadow fighters never gets old.
Not laser. Vree used antimater gun.
... and one goes off out of control and takes out a Minbari ship (from memory).
Khorne Sith may be right about it being antimatter rather than laser, but that still doesn't make it any less epic. The weapon shreds them as if they were paper and it's absolutely amazing
When I was too young to understand the intricacies of the plot and character developments, I loved watching the fights and battles and shiny explosions. I would have absolutely loved this video back then. Now, I understand exactly what's going on in each episode and scene and I still love watching the shiny explosions. It just means much much more. Seriously an amazing show, it set the bar high for sci-fi and television in general, plus it continues to do so.
Magi cCola I was little when I saw this as well. I could understand about 20% of anything that did not involve explosions. But it is an amazing show. Totally amazing.

Babylon 5 was one of the best series I ever watched. Brilliant, epic story and excellent actors. To produce such graphics 20 years ago was extremely complex and expensive.
Love this montage so well done and edited together with a fantastic choice of music to accompany. B5 was a truly epic show , love all the ship designs most especially the Earthforce cruisers with the rotating central column ( probably not very practical but damn it looks so cool ) and of course the fantastically designed shadow ships which look so creepy and menacing , organic ships is a
Pretty old concept in Sci fi but B5 did a really amazing job realising this concept and bringing it to the small screen along with the Vorlon ships they did a fantastic job with this .
Proof that B5 stands solidly with the very best in the battles it portrayed.

My sister (who isn't even a science fiction fan), tried to get me to watch this, but I never did. After watching this, I feel the need to call her and apologize for scoffing at her suggestion.

Definitely a favorite sci-fi show for me... I wouldn't mind returning to the universe of B5 again. Used to watch it with my granny, so it's a special show for me for that reason, too. The ship designs are amazing, beautiful, and seeing them in modern graphics would rock!

even if i'm a great fan of Star Trek and BSG, B5 is still my favorite Sci-fi series. Each year i watch the whole series and still enjoying it !

Late reply but in the show, both ships were comletely obliterated from the collision.
Here in 2020 visiting this again, saw it ages ago when i was still in school, and is still one of the best space battle compilations I have ever seen, music is beyond epic, and the battles feel so chaotic and seem to blend together like one massive conflict. well done, very well done.

i've only just finished watching the whole series of B5 on DVD. It's worth starting again - a brilliant series.
While I’m a huge Expanse fan, B5 was one of the first that had fairly realistic space battles. The Human ships look realistic and something we would actually design and build.
A friend of mine who is a massive Expanse fan highly recommended it saying it really reminded him of B5 - which we both loved and after watching the amazing Expanse I can totally see why .
I remember watching this montage years ago, and man the music fits for each scene.
Forget Star Trek ... This is the best SciFi serie EVER !!!!!!!!!
A long time fan of Sci-fy I fell in love with this series. They had a totally unique story with some of the very best actors and story line. They had the coolest aliens like the Vorlon and Shadows. Even though the special effects are dated they still did wonders with the series. I rate it far above the run of the mill stuff we see today and wish they could use it for another run today like something about the Rangers or another galaxy wide war they kind of played with but never really put their heart into as the series wound down. Boy they sure had first class actors in that series. It had great humor and sad and angry plots that never let you down. It was a kind of U.N. in space theme that they did very well.
At the time Babylon 5 was been shown these special effects were years ahead of anything else and if you did not know they used real physics in all the space battles too. Babylon 5 did politics and space battles unlike anything else at the time and is a underrated masterpiece. Babylon 5 is a million times better than the over hyped Star Wars and Star Trek.
Awesome! Love it! B5 is the best sci fi tv show ever. Never got the appreciation it deserves. Back in time... in my family we were all B5 fans and followed by WB channel on cable. Each new ep a home reunion with my best friends and my dad ... who passed away in february this year... 😞.... B5 has a new meaning for me now... as it brings many good memories that I thought lost...

I think it is about time Babylon 5 gets a remastered edition.

This is something I could get behind. Keep the actual way the shots were done, but just make it look better.
funny thing.. every B5 space battle was all CGI to begin with.. any remaster would only be worth it for a higher resolution.. which wont look better unless you have a new screen to watch it on.. after all 4k or 8k picture will still appear to be old res on old screens... other wise go for it...
we also need a new series done in same universe... with new actors for obvious reasons... not that they will ever match the mastery of the original cast....
CGI has come a long, long way in the last 20 years so you could get much more detail in the ships, explosions, warp gates, Depth of Field effects, color grading etc. On top of that the current cgi was only rendered for SD so anyone with a 720p or higher screen would benefit - which I'd wager is most TV's at this point.
I'm surprised the fans haven't done it TBH. The original show was shot on 35mm, so that's HD ready. The SD visual effects would need to be completely done from scratch though. Still... even The Babylon Project mod is starting to look better than the original effects today!

JMS and his team, and the acting team, believed in the story that was Babylon 5. They fought tooth and nail to tell it. It is miracle that they succeeded. I don't think it would happen today.

There might just be a lore reason; the Narn warships are apparently designed to look advanced and intimidating - this is because their tech level is actually relatively low compared to the other great powers of the setting.
I love the Shadow "battlecrabs" personally. They're like if spaceships could have nightmares.

Indeed, Babylon 5 is that kind of show that I would never dare insult by watching anywhere for free, not the series not the movies. Each has their own place of honour in my television cabinet, along with an autographed photo of the legendary Bruce Boxleitner himself.

for the depressive among us, think about how many thousands of lives were snuffed out during those battles if they were real, but from a special effect view, they are precedent setting for si-fi battles in series and movies that followed.
This made me want to indulge in a B5 marathon. I went looking for my dvd set and can't find it anywhere.

I would buy the whole series, but everyone acts like they never heard of it. This was one of the best SciFi space series' of all time! In the top five.

That was totally epic. B5 was an excellent series, well acted, well scripted and a fantastic storyline of biblical proportions. This video really shows off the epic space battles of that series at their best. Thanks.

This is absolutely fantastic, beyond amazing. It really makes me think back to the "good ol' days" when Babylon 5 was on. No show will be like it in a very long time. And the only show that came close was really Stargate.

Great compilation. I can remember seeing this stuff for the first time on TV wondering just how it that this is free? Babylon 5 was the best show ever to be broadcast.
Thank you so much for this great montage! I remember B5 from my teenage and study years; considering, that the CGI was done by using many linked Amigas, i still love what they did with their resources back then. Adding a truly amazing story arc that still grips me, even today. I guess i have to binge-watch it sometime soon (especially since i heard it's available in HD now!) :)
Two and a half years later, I still come back to this for inspiration when I wish to write or plot for an RPG, to calm me down when I feel stressed out, and to cheer me up if I feel saddened. It is truly inspirational music set to a wonderful montage of video clips. Here's hoping you keep it up on RUclips for a very long time.
I'd like to add, as a B5 fan I might be a bit bias, but this show deserves every bit of the drama and intensity those tracks give it - great selection.
Wow! This just reminds me of how much this series rocked!!! They don't make shows this good very often anymore..
And don´t forget the amazing different designs in all the spaceships, (colors, textures, styles and lightning.) they are unique.
B5 is one of my all-time favorite shows. I’ve watched a.lot of B5 video, but this was the best I’ve seen by far. The resolution was the best I’ve watched, by far. Great job.
Making me want to watch through B5 again... It's too bad my season 1 was scratched unwatchable by trains passing the house...

A very solid compilation. Great justice to CGI team of Babylon 5. You don't quite notice the brilliance of some space battle scenes on the show, they flow naturally within narrative. It's interesting to try and see early stylistic features that would shine later on Battlestar Galactica, like documentary shaking camera and zoom, especially in later B5. WB should really make up their minds with this property.

Hmm. Been a while since I watched B5. In spite of the sometimes bad acting it had an outstanding story and the battles were truly epic. My favourite ships were the Shadow ships, nothing else in the history of SF in film/tv matches them, they are just so creepy. Favourite moments: Delenn telling the Earth forces to leave B5 alone, when you finally realise who Valen was, Vir's revenge on Morden ... so good!
even the music he uses is more than just epic noise
he makes excelent use of melodies to better inform emotional context, witch is vital since he doesn't have story here to acieve that, so it doesn't matter if you've seen the series or not, there is enough context the you can still grasp what is going on, even if you don't know the details

The CGI and animations are from the TV show Babylon 5 (highly recommend). This guy did not make them, but he did do a stellar job at editing an making this music video.

even today some of the graphics hold up, unless you count the fleet battle scenes from star trek & mass efect, we don't have any sci-fi battles as epic as babylon 5

Babylon 5 has the best CGI of it's time. In 25 years today's standards will be garbage.
The one that really gave me chills was the scene from "In the Beginning" where the Battle of the Line starts; Hundreds of jump points forming at the same time with thousands of Minbari ships pouring out to finish off the human race. As Sinclair's character said at the start of that scene, "Oh my God."
the texture map resolutions might not be in the thousands by thousands like todays cgi, but the amount of detailing in the weapon hits, explosions and wreckage modeling still is strong in my opinion. Only when we start hitting star trek movie budgets does it really pale. And B5 was mostly a tv series and the movies never showed in cinema's so it didnt have the uber budgets. Even in the uber budget shows and movies of today how often do you see as many models engaging each other on screen at once? Pretty much never. Rogue 1 scarif battle is probably the biggest and thats like a 2016 big budget movie not a 1997 tv series
B5 is also quite possibly the BEST representation of shielding effects with the thirdspace ships. The shields arent generic bubbles and they respond directly to specific hit locations.
Upping the resolution to modern levels is all they could try, any change to the actual models and effects would break it

What I liked about B5 battles was that they had strategies, sure there was the chaos of battle but there was also a plan on both sides, the destruction isn't random neither are the attacks. Also this summarises about 3 or 4 different wars (depending whether you regard the Narn-Centauri war as separate to the Shadow War): Earth-Minbari War, Earth Civil War, Shadow War. Amazing series.
you know I used to watch this as a little kid, it was so epic to me that it is part of the reason I like sci-fi oriented shows, and movies. Besides that, they don't make shows like that anymore. I mean there are some good sci-fi shows, but not many. At least to me that is.

Man, absolutely 5 friggin stars! This is what Babylon 5 deserves. I envy those who may be just getting into this series.
Love how the music fits each part, how the percussion fit each shot of what is going on. I must agree that just like C Franke - you did a great job putting the right beat with the right part for best emotional impact. Case in point when the entire Minbari fleet comes out of hyperspace all at once, you could not of had a better timing or inflection to match up.

What is that music?! That is truly a mind blowing video... very very well done! I kept trying to look away but the impact of the cut scenes timed with the music... I just couldn't tear my eyes away. Awesome.

Although cheesy by today's standards (in both CGI and story), for the early 1990's, this was amazing. I love contemporary space operas, but Bab5 had that huge epic battle and expansive story appeal.

This was an epic video for an incredible TV series. It is a shame that the series is not ongoing still today. Well, JMS did succeed in telling the story that he wanted to tell, and that is good enough for me.

epic beyond words!!! babylon 5 is basically the very best of star wars and star trek combined plus some extra elements like political intrigue and lots of philosophy. far better done than in the sw prequels

Agreed. The CG was and still is brilliant. There's no need to redo it and to be honest, they might make it worse. JMS must have looked into my dreams when he did B5. It is exactly my kinda galaxy. Real battles, none of this 'our phaser banks are depleted' or 'we're out of photon torpedoes'. I love the hit 'em with everything we've got mentality of these battles.

he then shows the scene of the vorlon and shadow fleet clashing and if fits in to a nice narative, all the way to near the endat 8:45 when the corus picks up for the epic ending, he uses the scene of the white stars turning around and faceing their assailents (turning the tide, so to speek), it shows that the guy who created the vid is just as talented the the people who created the series, he uses the sceanes and the music in proper timing to reinforce the emotions he wants us to feel
Quality stuff, just rewatched severed dreams, was an awesome show
