From Macross Super Dimensional Fortress to Macross Frontier (1982-2012). A collage of the last three Macross stop motions with the original 1982 soundtrack.
I was expecting something simple and cheesy, like a couple of the models on a tabletop or carpeted floor....but WOW-this is amazing! It's like if robot chicken was actually being serious for once. Really well done, I'm a huge fan of Macross and this makes me giddy to watch.
This was such a good stopmotion. Macross is a big staple in the the giant robot world, and it's nice to finally see someone give them correct justice with stopmotion. Keep up the good work, and hope to see more. Maybe...a tutorial or so?
Please excuse me for typing the following in all caps "OH MY GOD! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! YOU TRULY MADE MY DAY" Kudos! Liked, Favorited & shared with My Macross Fans Group.
Great job and what an awesome collection you have! I was a little disappointed to see the "future" show up and help save the day but it was definitely fun to watch!
Thank you good sir! This video made my day! Top notch stop motion and over all really entertaining video! I really liked the inclusion of Frontier, mind you I would but I think they really worked well together! Shame your not doing anymore but it's always good to go out on a high note, which this was definatly!
Ingenioso trabajo de stop motion...Me divertí mucho observándolo...Soy un Fanático de esta serie. Felicidades ingenious work of stop motion ... I had fun watching it ... I'm a fan of this series. Congratulations
Very well done, if I may say so. You do the best stop motion movies out there anywhere. Thank you for doing all these that you have done, and keep doing more. labelashavoc (:~>?=
That was very impressive and very well done. One thing though, I would have used the original sound effects for the GU-11s firing instead of going to a more generic machine gun sound, the reason being is that the GU-11s are rotary or Gatling style guns and a buzzing sound would be accurate because of their high rate of fire. Just look up footage of mini-guns or the GAU-8 on the A-10 and you'll see that the original sound designers for Macross really knew what they were doing when they created the sound effect for the GU-11s.
Riceball01 Effects engineer Akihiko Matsuda and his company Fizz Sound Creation went out of their way to use realistic effects whenever possible. Not just with the gun pod, either. The Valkyrie jet engine sounds and fly-by sounds are all from F-104 and F-4s, both using the J-79 engine known for it's very unique throttle whine and howling. Nothing else sounds like a J-79. The typical sound FizzSound used for vernier thrusters was taken from an actual vernier thruster test firing, and that sound was reused extensively as a thruster noise in countless productions for decades. No other effects company in the world goes to that sort of effort to capture the "real" sound of anything and make it usable and relevant. Nobody else cares that much. They are the greatest sound effects company the world has ever known, in my humble opinion.
The SMS Skull Squadron came from the future to correct the past because of a time anomaly occurring at their time. Max's early demise changed the future of 2059. The perpetrator remains unknown.
