    Full vfx tutorial for making easily a giant sandstorm procedurally using Blender!
    No boring smoke simulations involved: its completely procedural, which means:
    drag & drop it in any scene
    realtime adjustments
    no waiting times for boring bakes
    customizable at any stage of the pipeline
    not source demanding ( 1 MB of disk space! )
    just 8 vertices required ( the default cube! )
    Props to everybody going to the Blender Conference this weekend, wish I live there!

    Not sure if it would crash blender or not but you can use one of the ray outputs from the light path node to exponentially increase the speed of the storm to give that effect that it’s really slow far away but gets really fast when it’s up close to the camera.

    • @RaffoVFX
      @RaffoVFX  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oh that's so true! I can divide the camera ray with the ray lenght and somehow is gonna multiply the rotation of the speed basing on the distance! Thanks you!

    This is amazing. I'm working on a clip with a person walking through the sandstorm, but the storm itself is too dense and I can only see it from outside. Is there a way I can get to see my character and some background inside the storm?

    • @RaffoVFX
      @RaffoVFX  4 месяца назад

      I will ask the obvious: decreasing the density in the shader doesnt work?

    This is truly amazing, something u cant find anywhere else on this platform. Is it possible to bake the animation once ur done tweaking to view it in real time and for more stable rendering, if so how can we do so?

    • @RaffoVFX
      @RaffoVFX  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks a lot, glad to har that :) baking it is kinda impossible, since its a 4d texture going through a volume. I usually just make a couple of very low resolution test render isolating just the smoke, which are very fast

    just imagine how long would it take to render if we use caustics in the same scene

    I know I sound super dumb to a blender pro like you, but I now have this and want to use it in a project, you say it is drag and drop... How???? Please help, I'm useless at this lol.

    I hate cycles because when the concept is about fog I cant never use eevee 😑

    • @RaffoVFX
      @RaffoVFX  8 месяцев назад +1

      its a paradox but when it comes to volumes, cycles works much faster than eevee!
