I personally don't get why people often mistook Childe and Thoma. But here are some differences visually that might help: - Thoma wears a horn-like headband. So if he has horns, he's Thoma. - Childe has orange hair (sometimes it looks browner) while Thoma has yellow blonde hair. - Thoma has green sparkly eyes, Childe has blue eyes with no sparkles. - Childe wears grey clothes with a long red scarf-looking thing, Thoma wears red and black and doesn't have a scarf.
just the outfit already makes a huge difference. same as I really don't understand why people will mistook it. maybe just for the new players because they don't know about anything of the stories and characters, but for people like been played genshin from the beginning then won't.

The 'Raiden Shogun' is actually a title not a name while an Oni is a yokai in japanese folkfore- it basically means 'demon' or 'ogre'! Can't wait for you to play and see more of genshin! :D
it doesnt rlly mean any of em , oni is just oni , in the mythology/folklore they were humans who turned/died and turned into ogre-like creatures because they were so evil , usually red , blue or green
oni doesnt mean demon or ogre , they look like them a bit but it doesnt mean it , onis are somewhat ogre looking , think of shreck but more fat and in different collors and allways evil , like , evil to the brim not even broken just pure evil ,

In Genshin they are one of many Youkai races that co-exist with human in Inazuma.

There are 6 (or 7 if u count the Pot) Places avaliable on the map. Mondstadt, Dragonspine, Liyue, Inazuma, Economiya, Chasm, Sumeru and the desert. 5. Tengu are japanese bird-like demons, thats the simplest way to explain. Oni are Japanese Demons / Ogres. (These are folklore) Itto is an Oni and Sara is a Tengu. If anyone has any more info they would like to add you could reply to me so its easier for other newplayers or TG to find :) Btw, Watatsumi island is basically a zoo, Doggy general, Jellyfish priestess.

Lol I found you when you started watching these trailers, you won't be able to play through some of these versions/events (especially the one introducing the guy at the end in the robot). I missed some of the versions/events because I was busy, so I found the cutscenes from them here on RUclips, I can post links, if you want - (You might want to look up what version of the game some of them correspond to, though) - the most important one being: "Unreconciled Stars" that introduces a clue to the overarching mystery with the gods. Unreconciled stars was s limited event DESPITE how important it is to the story/lore. A lot of people invested in te story are angry that it was limited, because new players miss it if they don't know that they are so important. It also introduces Scaramouche (guy in the robot you said you'd pray for). He is connected to Ei, as well. As for Nahida the Dendro Archon, you should watch her character trailers if you want to be more confused and have your heart broken.... Especially the Happy Birthday Nahida" one. Also, some of these event trailers might look like they are the tailed gor the characters as well. But quite often there are also special trailers. You might be interested in the "Winter Night's Lazzo" trailer. Also, you can tell Child from Thoma if you look at their clothes, rather than their faces and physical builds, child has a mask on his head, off to the side a bit. Thoma mostly where's read and has a headband that looks like 2 small black horns. As for the guy talking at the start of the one with the chasm his name is Dainslief- he's a reocurring non-playable (for now) character who is important. I'm trying to not mention big spoilers, but honestly, you watching some of these when you are so new to the game is full of out of context spoilers. If you need in-game help (like if you need someone to come into your world to help with fighting bosses/monsters and so on)- I am willing: Though you likely have plenty of friends to help. More advanced players can come help you, but you can't join the world of players with higher adventure ranks (AR) than you (unless that rule has been changed). My AR is 55. They're not black though Sumeru's inspired from Middle Eastern ppl and their cultures aka SWANA countries so Middle Eastern aka swana ppl come in all skin types and shades from pale to dark skinned. However Natlan is another region that's gonna come up soon too after Fontain so Natlan seems to be inspired from Latin American and west African and possibly Spanish cultures so it's apparent that we will be getting lots of new characters with darker skin tones from Natlan.
