This popular leader gave shape and direction to Kerala's development dreams and was considered a godsend by the poor and those in need of help. Despite numerous attempts to betray him, he never retaliated and dedicated his entire life to the poor. He was a unique personality whose death bestowed immortality. The entire populace lined the streets, weeping, to bid him farewell, making it the grandest funeral procession Kerala has ever seen. Even months after his death, people continue to throng his grave. Naturally, there are doubts about whether there will ever be another public servant like him who dedicated his entire life to the people.
