    Has anyone taken Volca Modular apart yet, to see if there are MIDI IN solder pads on the bottom of the circuit board?

      There are pads for a Midi Jack. But when sending in CV it doesn't track 1 v/oct, I wonder if it's any better when using Midi.

    Totally just sold me one. I was on the fence about it, but moments like you @07:00 are the reason why I love music so much. I can't wait to get it.

      Glad to hear that special digeridoo moment helped make your decision! It's all about hearing things you don't expect and having fun with it, sure you will have a blast with the Volca.

    You're great in the vids, but please tell your camera operator to sober up and find an editor who doesn't have ADD. :D

      @GetintheMix  5 лет назад +1

      Impossible.
      In hindsight though, the camera being on a tripod may have been more appropriate for this video.

    Those sound nice but would it have been too much to have a 3.5 patchbay? Has anyone made a volca modular male to 3.5 female?

    • @MicaelAzevedo
      @MicaelAzevedo 4 года назад +2

      There are 8 modules there. It would be Impossible with so many. You have like 2000€ in that tiny box.

      If Korg were going to use 3.5mm jacks in there, it would have almost certainly been twice the size and price. So that would break the Volca form-factor and invite criticism for the greater price. As-is, the Modular is smart because the price is so much less than a comparable Eurorack while being more portable.
      Another reason is because people with Eurorack would certainly ruin their Volca Modulars by trying to route +10v hot signals through it. So besides the costs of jacks Korg would have had to add protection circuitry for every one them.

    Is it as noisy as the other volcas? That's been a deal breaker for me on the others.

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  5 лет назад +2

      We didn't notice any noise issues with this one and the audio in this video is taken straight from the Volca output itself.
      In regards to the other Volcas we have seen people recommend 'Y' cables such as this: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/proel-3-5mm-stereo-jack-plug-2x-6-3mm-mono-jack.htm
      in order to reduce/eliminate noise as they can be quite sensitive with various cables.

    • @dfaehab
      @dfaehab 5 лет назад +3

      The noise is happening if you‘re using headphones with not enough electric resistance. 80 Ohms should be fine.

      @@dfaehab Also interference from radio waves, other equipment, no grounding in your setup, etc. can contribute.

    "Arpeggiator" ??? You dont really know a lot about synthesizers, do you ? The Sequencer of this has some features you would have to spend 5 times the money in Eurorack Modules to reproduce this.

    I don't understand what you're doing in your video thumbnail?

  • @ReneeNme
    @ReneeNme 5 лет назад +1

    $200 U.S. ?? No thank you. I'd spend rather spend $100 more and purchase a Behringer Model D. Guaranteed I'd get more satisfaction with it.

    • @HotStrange
      @HotStrange 5 лет назад +12

      Well you go ahead and do that then. Some people don’t understand that all synths are different and unique and each have their place. People like you ruin this community haha. You knob. This thing is packed with features for the price. Way more than the Model D.

    • @ReneeNme
      @ReneeNme 5 лет назад

      It's a $200 toy modular and judging by your liked videos, you don't know much about synthesizers despite your mentioning " this community ".

    • @HotStrange
      @HotStrange 5 лет назад +4

      ReneeNme Whatever you say pal. I’ve been playing synths for over 10 years and have owned at least 40 different synthesizers over that time period. Judging by the fact you had to dig into my liked videos to form a half-assed reply, you don’t even know enough to offer a formal rebuttal. If you can’t see this as more than a toy than that really speaks to your lack of talent, creativity, and knowledge of synths overall. Maybe drop the smug attitude and focus on getting help to be a better person 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @ReneeNme
      @ReneeNme 5 лет назад

      Okay, " pal ", so let us continue. I've been a musician for 48 years ( started when I was 10 years old ), have dabbled with synthesizers for 20 of those years, and while I only have 2 videos uploaded to RUclips showing that I have at least minimalist playing ability, where are your uploads ??! And, even though you're probably not interested, I have more synth uploads for my RUclips channel that will be released soon.

    • @HotStrange
      @HotStrange 5 лет назад

      ReneeNme ReneeNme You’ve “dabbled”? Good for you, but I’ve actually been playing and learning synthesis for the past 10 years, not just dabbling. And what does uploading RUclips videos have to do with someone’s talent? Absolutely nothing. I’m supposed to set up a camera, run the audio, record a track, and sync it to the video, and then optimize and upload it just to prove to some internet stranger I can play an instrument? Lmao okay man.
      Also, if you’ve really been at it for 20 years you should know enough by now to see that this is not just a toy. Especially not in any real musicians hands. You should also know by now that the Model D and this Volca are 2 completely different approaches to synthesis so it’s silly to compare them in that way.
