I was at the GP Atlanta commandfest in 2015. My friend got to play a pod with Sheldon and Bennie. I watched and listened in total delight. Fond memories that I'll always have.
RIP Sheldon....love you and what you did for the game. Your legend will live on within the magic community forever. We know you are in heaven and no longer battling that awful disease so rest well you've earned your place in heaven many times over.
I have never met Sheldon, but always looked up for him It’s so fun, that after all theses years watching you guys (since season 1) I feel like I always played with all of you, and when you guys pay this type of tribute I get all the emotional, special with Jeremy’s words … thanks guys
Never met Sheldon, but even in my short time back in the game I realised what a massive influence he was on what has become the primary way I spend time with my teenage son. I love the fact that when I heard he'd passed I went to FNM Commander and happened to pull out my own Karador deck, not knowing that I was playing Sheldon's favourite commander. That felt good.
Such a great episode. I would love for you to make the new secret lair ponies as commanders. I believe Corey would love Fluttershy interaction. RIP Sheldon.
Jeremy trying to gaslight the table with "well now Correy is gonna run away with the game" while his spell to kill both Jon and Steven was on the stack is the funniest statement of the episode 😂😂
i started playing magic and commander a year ago and ill be honest i didnt know who he was when he passed away but i can absolutely say that the game of commander that he fathered and the community the rose up from that has made an astounding impact on me and is a big reason im where i am today in all honestly. It sucks to see someone that is so revered and beloved pass away and its clear he is one of those very few people that just simply make this world a better place. RIP sheldon, your legacy will live on and its clear youll never be forgotten
Our LGS usually runs draft, needless to say draft was cancelled that night and EVERYONE showed up for EDH. RIP Sheldon He was such a positive force in the game that we all love. I used to vendor at the large events around Florida and Georgia and we had a game that we played called BOOM TUBE. Essentially there was one copy of Boom Tube from VS System and the goal was to get someone to accept the Boom Tube without knowing, at which point they had to pass off the Boom Tube unsuspectingly to another member of friend group. Some of the more ridiculous ones were in take-out food, slipping it into someone's deck pre-game, trades/gifted cards were the most common. I am so grateful that I got to play such a dumb and silly game with Sheldon, he was usually the most prime target for all of the rest of us lol!
Karador was one of my first and to this day favourite Abzan Reanimator Commanders. I have a similar Deck and it is so much fun. Cool to see that Sheldon did also enjoy that GY Shenanigans. RIP
Very fun episode commemorating some of Sheldon's popular decks. Wish Jeremy could have shown his off more. Glad Corey is learning lots of fun old cards like Living Death.
Ive had his ruhan list put together for years and have always had interesting plays and fun times with the deck. I loved his article on the decklist. He will be missed
Good 'ol classic commander. Man, I miss those days. Honestly commander was so much fun back then. Back before wizards really understood how to make staples for the format and made it not as fun.
This one was awesome to watch! So are your others as well of course. One question, is there any chance you guys have the decklist for all 4 decks you played here?? I would love to build some in honor of Sheldon to have available at our table for people to play. (Apologies if I missed the link that shared the decks!!) I have watched the video in January for the Deck Interview with Sheldon as I love Karador, and I notice that Corey had a couple different cards in the deck than listed from the earlier video. Thanks in advance!
I know I've seen Sheldon's decklists attached to some articles of his before but I'm not 100% sure how to direct you to find them. I usually found them through links.
@@mn6334 Fair enough, I just haven't tracked down this iteration of it. Was curious how many cards have changed since Jan. The Blade of Selves and Teysa were two cards I noticed not on the previous list I saw. Gonna be a fun build for sure!
It wouldn't be in the spirit of celebrating the impact Sheldon has had on our community if we didn't catch a small but notable GRV... 1:02:24 Eldrazi Displacer has Devoid, it would not be a White creature for the purposes of Teysa's first ability.
That was an awesome win. Love to see it piloted by my favorite player on this channel. I’m incredibly thankful for Sheldon for the commander format and his contributions for it.
Sheldon, you may have had some bad takes on the commander ban list, but as the father of the format that got me into magic and has had it become such a huge part of my life, you will be missed

It's endearing that everyone in the sphere is honoring him by playing in his name
Commander is the format that kept me into the game, playing casually with friends.
Thank you for bringing us this format

RIP Sheldon. The format you brought to life is the reason I still play Magic despite Wizards doing their very best to ruin it.

Thank you so much for checking what things did and making sure you catch as much as possible. It was a great game and a great tribute.

What a great way to honor Sheldon. Thank you.
Also, is the lighting a little different this time around?
RIP Sheldon, great way to commemorate him.
10:13 "you better send me a 1099"
Forever using this whenever I "pay taxes" in my next commander game
R.I.P. Sheldon. Thank you for everything
Lens cleaner needed for the camera on Green and Cory. just a Haze when you do the profile shot.
I really want to see Cory use a Jasmine Boreal deck so there's no more reading problems. Vanilla creatures only.
same
Thank you for doing this! It’s a huge loss for our community
RIP Sheldon, thank you for everything.
What an awesome tribute ❤
Was noone else spooked by Jon's face in the first few minutes lol anyway, RIP Sheldon

Very good point! That’s my bad. Tricky interaction for sure. Thank you!
We've now moved the blurry camera to the left side of the table!
The salty tears flowing from stephen greens tear ducts as Corey repeatedly recurs Stephen’s Sakura tribe elder
👨🍳💋
fun idea take a mono colored commander and change its color. replace the color pips with the new color
Stephen's look 36:19 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good job boys.
That was an awesome win. Love to see it piloted by my favorite player on this channel. I’m incredibly thankful for Sheldon for the commander format and his contributions for it.
It's amazing how often this table can't understand what Blood Artist does 45:35
Or Zulaport Cutthroat. And these are like past decade cards that have like a single line of text on them.
Sheldon you will be missed
Like, comment, share, subscribe, binge, and celebrate Sheldon
RIP Sheldon
foil kokusho 😭😭 damn thats hot
How the hell was Corey pro.
he was pro + in grand prix events
Corey is gonna be such a great dad, already got the jokes on point
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ That’s why I make those jokes! 😅
Sigh, and we hand game to Corey...
😀❤
Team green
First and crying

Cry a little more Jeremy lol.
the mtg community should go exercise for avoiding heart attack and memorizing Sheldon 😢
He passed away from cancer...
Jeremy is the biggest cry baby ever
