I found your video while searching on the net, and I'm so happy that I did. I have a cognitive impairment due to a fall. Your calm, pleasant directions help me alot. Thank you. 😊
Love the video! I reduce the pressure regulator and lengthen the stitch. Most bubbles can be worked out with your finger as you are stitching. No walking foot. Also i stitch in the ditch to reinforce all the seams for string quilts. Love the curved edges. I may do that on all my quilts!
I love the strip pot holders. Love them and the bias binding that match. Sherry, you explain your instructions so well. Thank you for your tutorials. I love them so much!
I've been making pot holders and heart shapes and giving them as gifts and selling them I was really pleased with your explanation of how you layer your batting and your insulbright I have had so many questions about that so thank you great tutorial
Thank you, Sherri! You are a great teacher along with being a wonderful quilter!! I’m loving all of these ideas for gifts especially this time of year!!😍
I've made string pieced hot pads as bridal shower gifts after finding out what the bride's kitchen colors are and their favorite motif. Such as earth tones with fall leaves motif. Also I sew the strings directly on the backing and batting "sandwich" so it's pieced and quilted at once. Then it's cut to correct size and bound! Try it!
I'm a complete newcomer to sewing. I came to it because I needed some new potholders. In my ignorance I bound mine quite differently. It worked but I couldn't fathom out written instructions about the mitreing involved in going round the corners and now, having watched your tutorial I know what to do in future. Thank-you.
Just a tip I use: When you fold your pot holder, use a wonder clip or two opposite of where you are finishing your binding, that holds it in place for you so you won't have to fight with it.
I use the circle savvy ruler for curved corners, especially on my quilts and I don’t use bias bindings. I make sure the curve is very gentle, not too much arc 😊
If we aren't a fan of crinkly InsulBrite, what do you suggest instead? Or does InsulBrite quiet down over time? Are 3 batting layers enough? I'm not sure my machine will go through more than that.
One of the best tutorials I've ever seen 👏 😍 THANK YOU!!!
Such a relief to not have to watch you sew on every strip..or chat unnecessarily..beautiful products..so informative..🇨🇦
I'm so glad you showed how to bury the loop. Thank you.

I love the Christmas one's.
I love this. Not boring repetitive. Thank you.
love your pot holders, made a whole bunch already, only left out the rounded corners and added a little hanging tab
I made a string potholder from your video. Thank you so much for your tutorials. Love them and your blog!
I love watching your pot holders videos
Thanks Sherri. A lovely alternative using a string block. Also lovely seeing you at the sewing machine. Would love more of this. 💜💜💜

fun useable project , I just made one...... I will be making more. Love the oval verses square Thank You!
Great tutorial! I make my potholders the same way - I do add a pocket on the back, I tend to like the “oven mitt” potholder.
Yes they are so such pretty fabrics and well made. The addition of a pocket is a smart idea.
Love your pot holder tutorials - and the added tab you do on them. Both look so pretty - the patchwork and strings pot holders.
I love your tutorials and always stop by to see what you are doing when Im on my computer
I just finished four of the patchwork potholders. Love ‘em. Thanks for the great pattern and tutorial.
Can't wait to try these. Thanks for another great tutorial Sherri.
I made some patchwork potholders so I will have to do some of these! Thank you!
Always love your tutorials, from your No. 1 fan from Australia...…….. Monica
I love both kinds of pot holders. Thanks for the video!!
Great tutorial - thanks for showing all of the steps!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I love that you showed yourself sewing, that’s where I need tips the most👍🏻
Awesome! Thanks bunches. I got a scrap bag with the same Christmas fabric, so now I need to make potholders ❤️

I agree. You can sew them on top batting piece also then quilt in the ditch
Thank you Sherri - I'm always so excited when I see another tutorial is available! I too liked seeing the sewing process.
I like the idea of using a piece of muslin to keep things straight. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial ! I am ready to make some last minute gifts!❤️
Thanks for your contribution
Very nicely done

Thank you for sharing! Your hair and makeup looks lovely!
Love your tutorials! Thanks so much for all the great ideas! But I’m wondering . . .When quilting these potholders, why not stitch in the ditch?
Just a tip I use:
When you fold your pot holder, use a wonder clip or two opposite of where you are finishing your binding, that holds it in place for you so you won't have to fight with it.
These are so cute!
Excellent. Thank you, Sherri!
Thank you for the great tutorial. You make it look so easy🧵
Thank you for sharing.
LOVE your tutorials !! By the way you're hair is looking amazing !!
That’s so pretty...great idea. Xx
Enjoyed the ideas!
Enjoyed
Great tutorial! Learned a lot!
I love your new hair do it looks so nice!!
Where did you get your large cutting Matt?
great teaching
I use the circle savvy ruler for curved corners, especially on my quilts and I don’t use bias bindings. I make sure the curve is very gentle, not too much arc 😊
Watching you, making it look so easy. Like the string pot holder. And what sewing machine do you use ???
Very cute idea.
How do you know how much to overlap the ends to make it work out right when done? Mine always ends up too short or long when sewn then turned over
Thanks for this tutorial!
Im learning so much from you. Ty. WHAT KIND OF BATTING DO YOU USE?
On either pot holder, I realize you need cotton batting. But what do you use-- as in what brand. Type?
You’re the best. Thanks so much,!
So you use 3 layers of the Insul-bright?
Thanks for sharing. Do you have a Juki? And what type of sewing table do you have? Thanks
What size binding are you using for the potholders?
Love your video. When attaching the binding you said you overlap about two inches. How did you decide on that number?
What sewing machine are you using for this project? It has a cute decal on the end... 😊
What size needle are you using? This is all very thick.
What kind of batting do you use?
When you get at the end could you just turn your pad around on itself i stead of cutting thread each time, just wondering? Newbie here.
I am new to quilting so what type of muslin fabric do you suggest?
Why do you piece onto a piece of muslin or fabric? Could you piece on to one of the pieces of batting? Or is it too hard to press????
So I can’t use just the insul-bright as the matting?
I’m definitely making these for gifts. My problem is, I’m not good at matching fabrics.
How do you attach the muslin
I have pot holder material that is silverish on one side and plain on the other. Do I need to use two pieces on the pit holder with shiny side out?
beautiful
What sewing machine and sewing table are you using? I would love to have one. It is not listed on your Amazon list.
Thank you!!!
If we aren't a fan of crinkly InsulBrite, what do you suggest instead? Or does InsulBrite quiet down over time? Are 3 batting layers enough? I'm not sure my machine will go through more than that.
Thank you.
What is the size for the smaller one?
put the background on before you start.... saves time
Can you use the QAYG method?
No clipping corners?
Where is the pattern so we can download it please?
I have tried to print the instructions you have in pdf. Can not print. Downloaded Google Docs to do it, still can not print. Why?
Fixed it. I had to install Google drive and Google docs to get the pdf to print. 😊
Isn't it super stiff? I've seen people do 2 layers, but not 3.
I do mine with 3 layers..I feel 2 layers isn’t enough to keep the heat out
😊
Seeew cute :-) thank you!
👋🙏💓💓😘
Step by step tutorials are nice but not if you have to go to another video to see what you're talking about. Do it all in one.

I would like you to actually sew the pieces on the sewing machine on camera. It’s would be helpful for a beginner quilter.
I hate it when sewing machines make those loud clicking noises……

Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you
