well i uploaded a video of bruce lee training the blind man in this episode of longstreet and i had a request to show the fight. so i decided to upload it
Bruce Lee is legendary. He was the greatest, no martial artist compares. Bruce was a special man and I would have loved to meet him. He didn't deserve to die so young.
There is actually no real way for the guy that could see to WIN this fight in reality. If you lose, you got beat up by a blind man. If you win, congratulations, you beat up a blind man.
if you lose, you lost + you lost to a blind man if you win, you beat up a blind guy that didn't have to show up to the fight in the first place as they're both consenting to get beat up, if you win, you win
@@oceanwave5301 agreed but sometime one has to be the bigger person and realize that the disable just wants to be normal and not let their disability be an excuse.
Hash I disagree, how about you don’t fight the blind man!! I agree they are both consenting adults, but the guy was just being a bully! I mean he could have walked away it’s not like the blind guy was gonna find him to fight!!
I love this fight so much. Very down to Earth, gritty and real. Love that he bites him. There should be a movie made around this one concept where a young blind man is mugged and he desperately tries to learn how to defend himself from a wise martial arts expert from the East.
It was really serious. Longstreet was hit very hard. The disgusting thing was those guys watching were laughing. Lou Gossett, Jr appeared as you can see.
Come to think of it...if you were blind...a clinch and grappling would be more ideal as a lot of times in grappling you cant "see" openings and must "feel" them.
I was always thinking, a blind person will exceptionally good at grappling or wrestling, since he only focus on the sense of touch, feeling the weight shifting and sense the gravity
@@mr.q337 and trapping because of its sensitivity like wing chung. He would be a deadly blind man who could trap u and choke u out in a matter of seconds. Pretty cool tho how a man who can't see could stil have potential to fight.
A lot of martial art experts saying most fighters today over rely on punching. And they say that is a very bad idea in a street fight. Because our hands are very ill design for punching and if you punch a hard target, such as forehead or chin, more likely you injure your wrist or finger. But most fighters in the ring today wear protective gloves, so go no need to worry about it. Most masters and police officer and soldiers say that is developing bad habit for an actual street fight, you can't overly rely on boxing style punches in a street fight. Otherwise you risk messing up your hand.
@Curt Christensen : Wrong, Kato was created when Stan Lee was just a baby. The Green Hornet was made in the 1930s, with Kato they had their first live action film in the 1940s. So Daredevil is 30 years late.
Curtis Ostriker - interesting how they’re all republicans, isn’t it? Always first to politicize, always first to demonize. Always easily lead by fear. And yet it’s their side that always denies, de-funds or outright cuts “liberal” services that help people like the blind. Thus they can claim they’d never “punch” a blind man, while actually harming him in far more insidious ways. Helps them keep their hands clean in the worshipful eyes of their flocks.

I remember this show. I also remember thinking at the time a blind cop is a stupid idea for a show. They had a bunch of these shows back in the 70's. Ironsides, cop in wheel chair that actually rolled down a couple of perps. Then you had the fat cop, Cannon. Weighing in at about 300# & chasing down perps on foot. Hahahahaha.
Fastball, funny... The truth is, they re cookie-cutter caricatures of real people with real lives. T.V. was once branded as entertainment and for the most part, that still holds true. Hey, wasn't that Jim Kelly with the afro? He was saying, Man, you just come out of a comic book .... also, notice that at first he's on e the right, and then suddenly he is at the far left. Guess he wanted to find a better view. But this fight is good in capturing the emotion of Longstreet, overcoming his fear.
Infact, look up Daniel Kish. We are so used to seeing. But if you actually use your hearing a lot + are relaxed and sensitive enough, you can feel the environmental sounds and vibrations reverberating off your body. - you can cross a road by pure vibrations of vehicle wheels, looking just for the sake of 2nd confirmation. ANd we haven't begun talking kinesthetics or listening & flowing (as per Bruce Lee's lessons yet).

Blind individuals have a technique which in the 70s and 80s call "Taking your photograph." In which, if you allow them, they would trace their hand around your face, feeling around for distinctive features in an effort to mentally memorize what they believed you look like. When you watch Li Tsung train Longstreet, he tells him to find his eyes. Which he used that technique to do so.
