So it took 254 miles of range to go 216 actual miles. Thinking about my model Y the Truck did better than my Y does on the freeway. I do not drive at 70mph, but it seems to do better at least comparing it to this trip. Cheers.
1:13 It's called not succumbing to peer pressure... I've done a roadtrip from California to Florida and back in my Model Y going 55-60mph the whole way except on roads where there were single lanes where people couldn't get around, and then on the way back from Texas to California I did 80-90 the whole way. There is no reason to go the same speed as others that are speeding. At the slower speeds I got 180-240 wh/mi and at the higher speeds I got 350-460+wh/mi. That's nearly double the energy used as well as a lot more stress on the tires, motors, risk of rock chips, more bug splatter, etc. We all decide what is worth more to us. Those higher speeds have a lot of downsides.
Great vid. I get you wanted to eat lunch, but I think charge to 65-70% and go to next charger from as low as possible will be faster. Nice to see good range.
It was a 6 hour drive so I definitely needed to eat and take a break. Unfortunately the fast food restaurant was packed and took so long to get us our food. Otherwise I would've charged to 60-70%. Thanks for the watch and comment 😁

@@Butter_EV I've had brake failure and steering failure but never at the same time. Both were scary to say the least . Both at once had to be really scary .
I've done 6 road trips of 1450 to 1670 miles with my Model Y and find that it's very relaxing and not much slower than a gas Suv. Charging has never been a problem and get out and walking every 3 plus hours is great and the Charging average is 25 minutes. If you figure the time I save not getting gas at home 2 times a week and never getting oil changes I save many hours each year. I know in time there will be variants of the CT. I’d love a “work truck” variant. Where there’s more towing capacity, more payload capacity and more range.

These cars are still not built for road trips. Extremely inefficient when it comes to charging
Hoping 350kw charging fixed that 🤞🏼
everyone drives 80 mph around here, you would get ran over doing 70 mph
In Arizona? I upped my speed to 75mph but got hit with traffic in Phoenix
You didn't get the wheel covers replaced, they cut into the tires, look it up. More design flaws
Cut into the tires? They rub a little but nothing to be concerned about as long you keep the inflation at the recommended psi
@@Butter_EV Not according to the stuff i seen, it wears the sidewalls really dangerously bad. Take them off till you get new stuff, not good
you are wasting time charging up to 100% follow the navigation guide
I agree. I really want to only charge to 70-80% but Carls Jr took forever 😩
I can hardly hear you over that loud background music
Really? I'm sorry. I will need to go back and look at my audio settings
You Tesla fans are actually fooled by Tesla ! haha!😂
🤣
Thanks for the video. Watching how slow you have to drive and how long it takes to recharge for what is a pretty short trip has convinced me not to buy a pure EV in the near future. What a PITA. Maybe I’ll get a PHEV.
I appreciate you watching and commenting. Please keep in mind that the CT will eventually have the ability to charge at 350kw which will speed up the charge times. And I had no intention of being there that long but the restaurant took forever 😩
They should just make an aero dynamix cyber truck and it would automatically gain 25 percent range. Make a ford maverick sized truck and you have a winner. This has minimal appeal. Its a turd.
I know in time there will be variants of the CT. I’d love a “work truck” variant. Where there’s more towing capacity, more payload capacity and more range.
When you listen to someone who actually owns one and has a brain...
Empty charge station shows how far ahead tesla are n that it's still only the relatively rich than can enjoy this experience
This is a new supercharger, hence why I wanted to go there, the older one was across the street closer to restaurants. So I think less people go here do to the walk to get something to eat. I was shocked that it was empty tbh
relatively rich is a relative term.
@@itchynackers yeah but you know what I mean...
1 hour and 10 minutes to charge. What is your time worth? Saving the environment 3 tons at a time.
I would’ve only been there maybe 20mins if the restaurant didn’t take so long
Fair enough but I don't think you would have reached 99% charge in 20 minutes. Happy to see you enjoying the truck and great review.
No I definitely wouldn’t have but it would’ve been enough to get to my destination. Thank you for the kind words. I really do appreciate you watching and commenting 🙏🏼
cold climates and ev automobiles dont get along
Luckily I live in CA
Right, that's why Norway is 85% electric. They have electric ferries too. 100% public transportation is electric. It's cold in Norway in case you don't know.
Electric cars work bad in cold conditions. ICE doesn't work at all (I'm talking about real cold, not what is considered cold in the US).
99 percent of your drives will not be road trips, remember that
You’re correct. I’m showing even better efficiency when doing my normal driving around town
@@Butter_EV not specifically to you, but most people don't get that in there day to day life's, the range is more than they will ever need. There is too much focus on edge cases. The amount of times your towing 11000 lbs at -50c will be seldom at best. Most people travel less than 100 km a day, in the vehicle by themselves.
💯
I like Tesla, but this thing looks like it was designed by an 8-year-old...
😂🤣😂🤣
Blame franz and lars they revealed in the top gear review it was their side project design that Elon approved&made it to production. 👍🏻😀
Go look at Atari's 1989 Hard Drivin'. There is a green van in the game that is very close and the interior shots from the car you drive show a similar front window structure. ruclips.net/video/g6JC-HCNcio/видео.html
I like Tesla, but I just don’t want to do so much thinking about everything if I had one, calculating miles, charging, all that. Although I know these are RUclipsrs also looking for content to grow their channels and generate income. Plus, I would despise all the attention and gawking about the car. I like flying under the radar.
Attention is crazy. I’m already noticing people not caring as much in my community as they see me everyday 😂
@@Butter_EV That's cool. Hoping you enjoy your new vehicle and that people allow you space and some privacy :) Enjoy!
Good thing is the car does all the thinking.
You don't have to. The car shows you where the chargers are and how much range you'll have. It's very easy to use.
And bad spot for airbag being released. The old 10 and 2 is obsolete it's now 9 and 3, to allow airbag deployment, and not getting your arms blasted to smack you in the face. that steering wheel is another dumb idea. Way too fat A pillar poor visibility. Large computer screen to slice ya up in a wreck. there is so much wrong with this kitchen knife on wheels
Love the wrap…what is it?
Thank you. It is 3M 2080 in Brushed Black Metallic
What was the cost to wrap?
Why would I stop at a gas pump and not fill it full? this only charge to 80% is ludicrous
EVs are totally different from ICE vehicles. It is best to get the battery down to 20% and charge to 80%. Helps to get you the fastest charge possible
It would be like the last 4 gallons coming out at 1 cup per minute.
It takes longer to go from 80% to 100% than 20% to 80%. It takes longer to top up each cell
Who drives 70 mph, no one does
😔 I do
I will never plan around charging and adding hours to my trip
It can definitely be frustrating to have to plan around charging stops during a trip.
Lost me with stupid music.
I’m sorry, I was going for upbeat music
like this channel but this video sucked, too confusing for someone who does not own an electric car.
I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy it. What exactly “sucked”. I’m always open to constructive criticism as I want to improve
