I busy this out every time I ride through the gentrified parts of my city. I think about all the old hang out spots. Old friends and how fast things move these days. It's sad. A bloody tragedy.
*Lyrics* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There's something soothing about a day job Ruins your clothes It's miserable and comforting to know That there's a couch and weed at home Waiting for me I missed a lot on the road I'mma fuck up when I'm home I'll still be washing dishes when I'm 40 years old My kidneys caked and braces on both my knees Outside every inside joke With my busted ears ringing God knows I miss being at home This was Mecca before the property value changed Everywhere I loved became everything that I hate Now there's no room for broke asses like me Don't wanna lose track of my friends The distance is fucked It's not that I don't care, I'm just awful at keeping up There's just no room in my head Between the scrambled names and burned off piston rings Outside every inside joke With my busted ears ringing God knows I miss being at home

It’s insane that a TikTok brought me here, today of all days. This is exactly what I needed to hear. Tysm for the vibes and reminding me we are all humans going thru so much shit in our own minds, yet we are all going thru the same exact human experience..
According to band camp that's it. When I first heard it I thought it said 'I'm missing out on the road but Ill fuck up when I'm home.' Now im not sure. Both sound good and make sense to me.
this song rocks! listen to it all the time on spotify. keep going guys!!! never give up! you sre are so talented and have helped me through a lot. love you microwave
Not sure if this their intent - but my interpretation of this song is a reference to how much the music industry has changed and how much harder it is to make a living off it - resulting in a constant need to tour relentlessly to stay relevant. “This was mecca before the property value changed”. Ive been in a couple touring bands and dropped out of it in my 20s, but have close friends still going strong into their late 30s - but they are exhausted too, often wishing for home and a more stable life at this point. This song makes me think of them.
I think the mecca part is about how much atlanta has changed due to gentrification. A lot of places have been torn down and turned into offices, overpriced apartments, restaurants, etc.
Heres a few with a sorta similar sound/vibe City - PUP Sasquatch .22 -Bay Faction Are you in the mood - Bay Faction I don't belong - Fontaines D.C. A little more different but I still think have similar vibes are the bands Destroy Boys and Slothrust
""I'm a savant on the road I'm a fuckup when I'm home" Everyone calls you talented or genius, unaware of what they're saying and you just fall in line with your own self-destruction's comforts and sing about yourself in retaliation, then there's no room anymore. Bless that couch.
Just wanted to say, ever since I found out about you guys, you've been my favorite band. I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say that I really appreciate you all do. Thank you.

Dear, now the cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is found: radiation of microwaveoven. To stop you have to eliminate the oven out of the house. The plug out of electricity net because the oven has also radiation when it is not in use.And out of the house because the oven has a high voltage capacitor. The distance between an oven and a person is very important. After a 2 weeks without microwaves health becomes better.
