The way I interpret this is a relationship built purely on DESIRE. For anyone who has been in one similar, those types of relationships could break down the two, as they continue to MOLD themselves to keep such desires alive. Losing themselves in the process. However, growing into something new in the end due to experience (the flower). Could be wrong, but we do all see things differently!!

I gotta say I disagree. Molding yourself for somebody isn't something you do for someone whom your feelings are solely based on selfishness (your own desire, assuming that this is what you meant by desire)

@@drewrichards1184 I understand that view, But I think selfish desire can make a person do a lot of things. As tragic as it is, molding oneself to fit another person is the most selfish action you could commit for desire in such a situation, as you are choosing your lust to belong to someone who is not right for you and for them to belong to you, despite the inevitable consequences of your differences and incompatibilities resurfacing. You're giving that person all of this version of you and putting all your stock in them when they could very much be unaware that this is not the person you really are because you want them, not because it's healthy for you in the future or them, but because it's your impulsive desire in that moment. Refusing to change for someone who you share a powerful bond with because you have no motivation to is an incredibly sad thing and very painful for the person that you refuse to change for, but it is ultimately the most healthy solution, as you obviously do not possess strong enough feelings to go through with adjusting your life for that person. Changing a lot about yourself just to stay with someone you want, though, is damaging to the both of you in the end.

for me, this video/song means a relationship that they both had to destroy the dirty/not good things inside (cause these things could give an end to their relationship) and therefore slowly they became one and let the yellow flower grow, trusting in each other and growing up as people, together.

This song and album brings me pain every time I hear it. I struggled with a girl for a year while listening to this. Getting emotional destroyed fighting and caring for her but not actually having the title. And finally I got her and I was on top of the world man. Nothing can bring me down and I loved her with all my heart and still do. Even within the relationship it was hard emotionally. She had really bad depression and it was not a burden for me but it was tough for me to emotionally be there for her consistently, but it’s okay because I loved her so much. Things got weird half into the 2 year relationship where she seemed distant. We stopped having a sexual relationship and it was more of a partnership it seemed. Something wasn’t clicking I guess, and I can see it a mile away. I moved in after talking about it for awhile and it was great I felt good and I felt good being there with her. I miss it so much. Things got weird because she would talk about this co worker and it started getting even weirder. Come to find out she was cheating on me prior to me moving in. She tried to tell me before. I know she did based off some of the arguments we had. I almost knew this was a thing and it didn’t surprise me but man.... it hurt. Not because she betrayed my trust, but because I knew this was a turning point and I wasn’t turning back. It was a moment where I knew this was it for me and her. I can’t even be there as a person in her life anymore. I don’t know why but man I can’t shake the feeling that I might never feel this way with another person ever again. I know it’s probably not true, but when I hear his album it reminds me of everything I did and felt to get into that position. Pretty much to end up alone again. I put myself through so much for someone else just to feel like nothing in the end. I’ll be okay, but I just needed to get this out there.

Brandon St. Onge Contrary to popular belief he ate yellow paint because he knew it was poisonous. He suffered greatly with ill mental health and sometimes had to be kept away from his studio when he was having an episode because it was known by his psychiatrist he would try and harm himself.
