Ikr. I only play BFV because it’s the most realistic WW2 game on PS4 right now, and there are so many things that annoy me about it, like the stupid face paints, and the weapons. I would play Hell Let Loose if my PC wasnt absolute garbage.
My personal specialisation preferences for the Garand are Barrel Bedding (right), Custom Stock (left), Lightened Stock (left) and the Grenade Launcher (left). I choose the first two for as accurate a rifle as I can have at medium to long range engagements, and then the Lightened Stock for getting quicker, accurate flanks on enemy players while aiming down my sights. I'm not running with Heavy Load, because the TTK of the Garand with the accuracy of the first two specialisations, along with the rate of fire benefit you have without Heavy Load, turns the Garand into an accurate, rapid firing mid-range monster, with two explosive backups to boot.

just a little correction on the "tanker" M1 carbines, they were made post war (some time around the 60's I think?) to sell left over M1 Garand stock, defective and/or Garands that did not pass quality inspections. There are questionable records of a "T26" or an "M1E5", however the only 2 examples of such carbines are likely fabricated.
I personally like the rifle grenades. I'm kind of a tank hunter, and having the little bit of extra explosive power can make the difference between killing a tank, or it getting away. Grenade launchers can be nice against camping mmgs too. And if you pre damage someone, it will take fewer bullets. They shoot pretty far, they reload quick, and they are handy to have. And the quicker fire rate also is better for that style. It's already a pretty good range gun as it is.if I want something like a G43, I'll use just that, or the karabiner.

that dmg dropoff is WILD combined with the arguably low damage. On a good day, within 50m, and if i hit ALL headshots i MIGHT be able to kill 4 people before reloading assuming they are full hp. Its a .30-06, it should in my opinion take no more than 3 bullets to kill at say 100m, and 2 max for anything under. A semi auto rifle with 8 shots, low-med dmg and range is stupid. you dont often have time to shoot somebody 4 times to kill them with a gun like that before theyre behind cover and healing. amazing game design
Why the heck are semi automatic guns so week in battlefield? Like do the idiots at dice not realize a M1 Garand has nearly the same velocity as a bolt gun! The bullet leaves the barrel before the action even starts moving. Id like to se someone take 3 shots from a 30-06 and keep running.
Its a boring weapon to use in bf5 along with most of the guns in bf5. Its doesnt even sound like a Garand . What ive noticed in BF5 is all the gun sounds are the same just difference variations and tone

I remember the triple kill assignment when it came out. Was literally impossible because you cant kill 3 people with just one magazine.
Heavy load makes it 3 hit kill on body and 2 shot head shot

Exactly. The .30-06 is a beast of a cartridge, and I get irritated when video games make it feel more like a mid-tier cartridge.

I just did it in combined arms. Though it was still absolute hell
