On Friday after work I always go to Adoration and I ALWAYS feel so overwhelmed by the presence of Jesus Christ. That's completely normal. Mother Teresa speaks about feeling spiritually dry for many many years, yet she worked though it with Jesus help. Just stick with it and pray daily.
I pray everyday and can always do more - always do better. And whether one is doing the memorized prayer or not, it needs to come from the heart. Pray for us, so that we become closer to Christ everyday. He who gives his mercy so freely.

I’d recommend praying the Veni Sancte Spiritus and specifically asking for the grace to feel at peace. There are many reasons why we feel fear and loneliness. Each person (myself included) feels loneliness in a different way, if that makes sense. I feel loneliness a lot, but I bet the loneliness I feel may not be for the same reasons as you. We should ask ourselves why we are feeling lonely. Is it something we did that results in this feeling? Is it something we DIDN’T do or lack in our lives that causes this? Is it a Mark of Contradiction (a point in our lives when we feel like outcasts in the world because of our love of Christ and our faith in Him)? I don’t know who you are, but I will pray for you in my rosary tonight! God bless you and in doing His will may you find peace!

For me prayer is talking with Christ and with the Father. I feel the more I spend as much time with them truly I feel a love that only comes with keeping them in the center of my heart, my life. Pray without ceasing. The more you prayer the closer you get to God which is a very good thing. :)

I never usually comment but I feel the need to. Prayer is so heeling to me, especially as I'm now going through a hard time, but I also find it hard to keep to a prayer schedule as it can often be emotionally overwhelming for me. But the other night I prayed and did some Bible study. Elijah came to me and was a huge part of my study that night. Now, I wake up in the middle of the night, go to RUclips and I see this video with Brother Elijah, about prayer. I just wanted to let people know that God is so loving and always with us, even when we fail to reach out. He truly is love and I finally have fallen deeper in love with Christ with help of these amazing Friars who are vectors of God. Peace be with you. x

Please, help me. I'm dealing with severe demon possession / oppression and I'm praying, but it's not helping a lot. I have constant blasphemous thoughts about God, The Persons of The Trinity, The Holy Mother, The Saints etc. Online psychologists call it religious OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and say that the only way to overcome it (besides medicine) is to accept the thoughts and even visualize them because by accepting them I no longer let them cause anxiety in my and they will eventually go away. I do not dare to dwell on such horrible thoughts. I'm not a Catholic. I'm an Eastern-Orthodox. I pray to God every day to take away my thoughts, but I have doubts about Jesus, and I'm really struggling with my faith. I think I'm cursed and I don't know if God listens to my prayers while even during prayer I have intrusive uncontrollable blasphemous thoughts. Am I cursed, and should I kill myself?
I think that priests should emphasize the importance of prayer in every mass. I don't hear it as much as I'd like to. I believe that people need to hear the importance of prayer very often.

Jesus From Hyrule get a spiritual director who knows about and has experience working with scrupulous types, then do exactly what you're told by your spiritual director.
A Priest is someone who has been ordained by the bishop. His chief job is to say Mass, although he also does things like Confession. He may not marry or be romantically involved with anyone, and he will live on his own/with a few other priests in the presbytery, a small house usually next to the church. A Priest has not taken a vow of poverty, and so may have a car, iPhone ect, ect. Monks are not ordained and cannot say Mass. They live together a Monastery. They take vows and cannot Marry or own things like cars. They are harder to define, as there are lots of different kind of monks. Franciscans, Benedictines, Dominicans and so on. Each are different. Some monks go out and do missionary work, helping the poor, tending the sick and so on. Some stay in seclusion in the Monastery. Friars? I'm afraid I don't actually know.

Preying is good up to a point. But remember, God gave us physical bodies in order for us to take action against evil. God sent us into the world so that we can bring humanity out of its hellish condition. Excessive 'pray' turns you into 'prey'. You've got to practice temperance.
Praying the rosary is wonderful for me every day but at the end of it I talk to Jesus about what is on my mind as if i'm standing at the foot of the cross. It's a great peace for me everyday.

If silence and quiet prayer is hard. Offer up your work to Christ as a prayer. It can be tough for myself too. But prayer and work go hand-in-hand!! What ever you do no matter how small. Offer it up for the Glory of Christ. Make your life a prayer, is what God asks us to do. By working and suffering for/with Christ, we do that. Work is a sacrifice and prayer is too. But you can offer up both and either. Silent prayer is important, and even if 5 minutes. But working for the kingdom of God with your labor is a prayer too. Cutting the lawn, helping a friend, driving your car, cleaning your room. All can be offered up for Christ as work, and in thanksgiving for this life, (no matter how hard it can and will be)! Christ gives his hardest trials to the ones who can bear them no matter how hard. The harder it gets the closer God really is to you, is what someone once told me. Not out of vengeance does God chastise us, but out of love that we grow stronger once we are put to the toughest of tests and continue onward toward our truest best self with God’s help always.

Nice video but please don't think that the Jesus prayer is de facto related with peace. This peace achievement we all seeking for, is not the reason we should pray this prayer. In the beginning of this good habit everything comes easy and peaceful but later on most likely the war starts and things get more difficult. This peace and concentration may not come easy later on so you must be clear with yourselves and know the actual reasons we pray. Imagine this prayer as a tiny hammer hitting and trying to break a huge rock which is your hardened heart. As you dig inside you may find in there things that are not very pleasant. So know this from the start so you will not loose your courage later. Do not confuse the Jesus prayer with yoga's and meditation. Do not expect returns like everything will come easy in life because you pray, this is not a healthy relationship to God.

Please, help me. I'm dealing with severe demon possession / oppression and I'm praying, but it's not helping a lot. I have constant blasphemous thoughts about God, The Persons of The Trinity, The Holy Mother, The Saints etc. Online psychologists call it religious OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and say that the only way to overcome it (besides medicine) is to accept the thoughts and even visualize them because by accepting them I no longer let them cause anxiety in my and they will eventually go away. I do not dare to dwell on such horrible thoughts. I'm not a Catholic. I'm an Eastern-Orthodox. I pray to God every day to take away my thoughts, but I have doubts about Jesus, and I'm really struggling with my faith. I think I'm cursed and I don't know if God listens to my prayers while even during prayer I have intrusive uncontrollable blasphemous thoughts. Am I cursed, and should I kill myself?

I think that priests should emphasize the importance of prayer in every mass. I don't hear it as much as I'd like to. I believe that people need to hear the importance of prayer very often.

how do you pray, when i try to recite and concentrate on the typical catholic prayers I learned at school, i don't find peace from them, it is like I'm concentrating too hard to make space for peace and if i try to be quiet and see if I can feel the presence of God I find my mind just starts to wander, have you any advice Friars ? I pray maybe 1-2 hrs a day but I can’t find peace because I feel my prayers are more stressful than anything. I guess it has its roots in my scrupulously. Idk if anyone has anything that could help...much appreciated it would be.
Jesus From Hyrule get a spiritual director who knows about and has experience working with scrupulous types, then do exactly what you're told by your spiritual director.

A Priest is someone who has been ordained by the bishop. His chief job is to say Mass, although he also does things like Confession. He may not marry or be romantically involved with anyone, and he will live on his own/with a few other priests in the presbytery, a small house usually next to the church. A Priest has not taken a vow of poverty, and so may have a car, iPhone ect, ect.
Monks are not ordained and cannot say Mass. They live together a Monastery. They take vows and cannot Marry or own things like cars. They are harder to define, as there are lots of different kind of monks. Franciscans, Benedictines, Dominicans and so on. Each are different. Some monks go out and do missionary work, helping the poor, tending the sick and so on. Some stay in seclusion in the Monastery.
Friars? I'm afraid I don't actually know.

Praying the rosary is wonderful for me every day but at the end of it I talk to Jesus about what is on my mind as if i'm standing at the foot of the cross. It's a great peace for me everyday.
Chris - Sol Mon Yes, but only somewhat. Prayer is just as important to get hell away from earth and others as well. Sometimes you can’t do anything for a person or government, or group physically. You can just pray for them. And that works just as well too. Prayer and Work go hand in hand. But God’s language is the silence of heart and that is where true change happens in all people.
I don't find peace in prayer, I just find that all my cries are in vain, in 35 years, my life just gets worse and worse. I just want to be released from this life.

Helen I dont do anything that is considered not Catholic, in fact I do allot of sacrifices and help people, even though I know most of them are just using me to get work done.... I just had enough of priests telling me that when bad things happen it's the devils doing and when good things happen, it's because of god.... It's like a ridiculous way of trying to make sense of life.

I am praying for you. Trust in God, it is His grace that will give you peace. It’s tough but worth it, and you are so loved by Him even when everything seems dark!
If silence and quiet prayer is hard. Offer up your work to Christ as a prayer. It can be tough for myself too. But prayer and work go hand-in-hand!! What ever you do no matter how small. Offer it up for the Glory of Christ. Make your life a prayer, is what God asks us to do. By working and suffering for/with Christ, we do that. Work is a sacrifice and prayer is too. But you can offer up both and either. Silent prayer is important, and even if 5 minutes. But working for the kingdom of God with your labor is a prayer too. Cutting the lawn, helping a friend, driving your car, cleaning your room. All can be offered up for Christ as work, and in thanksgiving for this life, (no matter how hard it can and will be)! Christ gives his hardest trials to the ones who can bear them no matter how hard. The harder it gets the closer God really is to you, is what someone once told me. Not out of vengeance does God chastise us, but out of love that we grow stronger once we are put to the toughest of tests and continue onward toward our truest best self with God’s help always.

why Waste your time praying?
Nice video but please don't think that the Jesus prayer is de facto related with peace. This peace achievement we all seeking for, is not the reason we should pray this prayer. In the beginning of this good habit everything comes easy and peaceful but later on most likely the war starts and things get more difficult. This peace and concentration may not come easy later on so you must be clear with yourselves and know the actual reasons we pray. Imagine this prayer as a tiny hammer hitting and trying to break a huge rock which is your hardened heart. As you dig inside you may find in there things that are not very pleasant. So know this from the start so you will not loose your courage later. Do not confuse the Jesus prayer with yoga's and meditation. Do not expect returns like everything will come easy in life because you pray, this is not a healthy relationship to God.
