Man this is the best tutorial ive seen for doing this. All other tutorials are 20+minutes with useless information that would get you there eventually, but certainly not the most efficient. Thanks for the guide!
In the meantime I am ready to roll. Installation had only one problem (I needed to set the language to english). After that the game could be started like told in the video. The beginning is confusing because different then the original game and I needed some time to configure the mods and to understand the controls. Good news is it all works, but be patient - it takes time. You can equip your character with many free items and then take a crystal for teleport to Whiterun where the real game starts. It looks amazing, the environment of Skyrim is in my opinion the most beautiful thing you can watch in 3D.

god I wish the algorithm rewarded tutorials like this. I followed another one, probably only a year old. Ended up in 2 days of troubleshooting steam because they weren’t clear on how to make a new install folder for Skyrim. Turns out, you don’t even need one. Jesus Christ.

Great guide, though might want to mention in a sticky post a few more details/link incase people are having issues. If someone is having a black box they will need to hit the END key and toggle TAA. (unless FSR is being used in which case that is bugged) There is a tool that you can use to make a second steam library folder outside of your program files if needed (I cant link that here due to youtube being youtube) Skyrim must be installed in english The list goes on but those are pretty much the most common things
For sure, I made all the Mantella video guides but I had direct support from the devs. Would be happy to do the same with your team. The black box bug is an easy fix, just have SteamVR running first.

It's only local when using xTTS to synthesise the voice unless if run through runpod.io. I'll be making new guides on all of that soon it's fairly complicated but check my channel out

I've got a modding guide for Vortex and I get questions on it all the time. I've run people through the install in VC with screenshare so many times I dread to teach people Mo2! But yes you're right I should. I will when I can 😅
I'm on virtual desktop with a quest 3. when i do my own mod list threw vortex it keeps telling me it cant find the script extender. so then skyui and higgs wont work. i tried for days and always the same problem. so i did a complete uninstall of all skyrim and skyrim mod files, and then i followed your tutorial. i can get the game to run on all three (fus, fus roh, and fus roh da), but they all give me the same exact error when the game loads in. it refuses to acknowledge the script extender and thus skyui and higgs dont work. without those mods working half the other mods don't function. I'm not computer literate at all, and when i try to google the problem. no one is talking about these issues. are these mods just plain incompatible with virtual desktop, because even the mod says its calibrated for the steam deck.

Oh yeah, absolutely you should be fine with those settings. Just to confirm did you run the game at least once before installing the mod list? Some things to try: Make sure steam vr is running and your headset is connected to it before running. Check the mod list in Mo2 and make sure realm of lorkhan is on, and is on in the plugins list.

I have a rtx 3070, and i have 40 fps with this modpack, is there a way to get higher fps? Im using virtual desktop. I tried setting all settings to low, but there isnt really that much difference in fps compared to high settings.

Hey, it should be possible but ideally you need to run steam vr and the game once to create certain files if the game has never been run before. It might work without having to do so though.

I have one question, whenever I go like to a new room my headset seems to like lag a bit with less frames then it goes back to normal after a little bit (like moving my hand feels choppy and just looking and moving around). I also tried changing the graphic settings in the game and they didnt seem to change anything at all. I have a 7900 gre and a 7600x if that matters at all.

Hey man, I'm glad you found it useful! So you can transfer all the mods required to the Mo2 launcher in FUS and change the paths in the config.ini. it will work (it's how I play). I suggest you don't use open.ai or chatgpt. The new Mantella comes with a free model, you just have to go to openrouter.ai and make a secret key there and then it will be free.
You just need skyrimvr for this. I'm guessing you didn't start a game before running the modpack? When you start a game the standard way it creates files, one of which is your Skyrim.ini

You should just start skyrim vr normally through steam once, that's all. Wabbajack will detect how much it has installed and carry on from where its been left off.

I then tried to resume wabberjack, but still got the error "Unable to download Skyrim.ini. Cannot continue ...". I also looked in the game directories and find no Skyrim.ini, only Skyrim.prefs.

When you're on nexus instead of clicking the install by vortex button go to the download button and push download by mod manager and if mo2 is linked which it should do, as shown in this video it'll automatically work.
I have a gtx 1060 6gb and an AMD ryzen 5 3600 cpu. I get my quest 3 on thursday and just wondering if i would be able to run this with these mods via scaling stuff back or whether i should stick to previous video you made and just grab a few and mod on vortex
I would stick with the previous video. My FUS / MGO modpacks have very big texture packs and graphics reworks that your 1060 won't be able to handle I'm afraid. Follow my video, gets HIGGS and Planck and VRIK and from there add a mod one by one until your pc can't manage

@Lt_HaZeYy visually there may be some 2k texture packs your PC might be able to handle. But I don't want to set expectations. VR itself is already pretty heavy on a PC. I had an RTX2070S with an R7 2700 and even it would struggle with basic VR games. Focus on the ease if life stuff first. Also check out Mantella, the stuff you can do with that is awesome.

After finishing downloading the entire FUS mod pack it didn’t have the MO2 executable like in the video so I couldn’t open the orangizer and see all of the mods. Should I try to install MO2 manually and move the organizer into the FUS folder?
Look in the mods folder very carefully. The Mo2 launcher doesn't always have an icon it can look like a white file. It will definitely be there. Worst case do the process again but to the same folders and ensure it doesn't overwrite, wabbajack detects what's missing and what isn't.
@@DeadPixelGamingif I remember correctly it had a download error so 12 of the mods didn’t finish downloading perhaps that’s the issue. The only thing was is it did have an unzipped file in the downloads named Mod organizer 2 but couldn’t be opened like in the video. For some Reason i wasn't able to get into the Menu and change the menu to "options" which pisses me off a bit. Everything else seems to work. Stick Dirft seems to be but fixed it too and checked. Some people say it might work better with Virtual Desktop better. Not sure about it, but maybe it will get better once all the Mods are installed with the performance changes

Nexus premium costs £4.99 a month when paying monthly and there is no extra tax on that. If you're in the States maybe it's different? But if you can't afford to pay that then just use the Nexus premium free trial..
@@DeadPixelGaming Nah I'm from Croatia and when I went to upgrade free to premium account the monthly sub was 8.39 + 2 euro tax, so over 10 euro. I already started manually downloading them. It is a chore but I'll get it done by tomorrow.
FUS is for mid to lower end PCs, I did a guide on MGO last week. I plan on making a comparison. But to run MGO properly you need at least a 3070. So it's good to know there's at least two choices for those with or without higher end PCs.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that? What rig are you running? This is common with PCs that might struggle with this mod list as it is huge.
An i9 with 64ram and a 4070card. Should be good. I wondered if I was missing a file or perhaps a conflict.

Yup, the process still works the same. Just that the mods will have been updated with newer / more ones.

I downloaded it all and it had 387 files. Then it said "Unable to download Skyrim.ini. Cannot continue ...". I have downloaded Skyrim and SkyrimVR.

To be honest I think it could actually. You would struggle to get the MGO modpack working comfortably but you should be fine with FUS.
