This modular design has a lot of practical use in ways not considered. My wife is a habitual sewer, and between her need for storage, a place for cutting cloth, ironing as she goes etc, these boxes would be ideal. Work heights would need to be adjusted of course, but there is a real need... and of course when spending $ on themselves, spending money on cabinetry like this is a no brainer. Happy wife, happy life.
I've adapted this into single units. Instead of having two cabinet boxes and a wide frame, I do a slimmer frame and just one box for a bank of drawers. I put them all around the perimeter of my shop and just put a continuous top down them. For a miter saw, I simply connected the top to the sides to provide a lower platform and its amazing. I don't make mine quite as deep (deep enough for a couple systainers and a few drawers. My workshop looks awesome thanks to your design. I even went so far as to paint the "legs" in festool dark blue, the cabinet insides and drawer fronts in festool gray, and the draw pulls are painted in festool green. It looks like I have a festool super shop. Best money I ever spent getting the plans for this design. Thank you Paoson!
Mit Ideen und wenigen technischen Hilfsmitteln, geniale Ergebnisse zu produzieren, das ist eine wirkliche Kunst ! Chapeau ! Gracias, para regalar tus ideas y salud.
I absolutely love the modular benches and the table saw/router bench. They are incredibly well built. I’m just starting out and will first make something more basic with the ultimate goal of making some of you beautiful pieces.
I've been playing about with designs for a new bench, with ideas ranging from flip top parts for tools, MFT style holes, drawers etc ... and then I finally came up with the idea of making multiple smaller benches which could be joined together in various ways to suit the application. Then I find your video of exactly what I've been playing about with ... you beat me to it by a good few years. Interesting, I've designed my drawers exactly the same way as you have, including the sliding mechanism ... however I'll be using laminate for the base of my drawers which will provide a smooth sliding action. I like the method building the frame, simple, easy and immensely strong, with the advantage of using material which is all the same thickness and type ... my design uses a mixture of ply and pine ... I like your method better! Many thanks for sharing :)
I am building a workbench. It will not be like yours, but I congratulate you on the thoughful consideration you have given to every aspect of your design - not to mention the simple precision of your bench's construction. Well done and thank you!
So...where to begin. First of all, thank you for making the video - it is obvious it took a lot of work. Very useful design - like the shots showing how it works, and how you leverage your existing workbench. Amazing quality in the build and workmanship. really impressive - great attention to detail. Great production quality in the video - just enough to give us an idea on your process and steps, but not long winded or overly drawn out on unnecessary scenes. thanks for sharing.

Hi. I just recently purchased your planes for the Modular Workbench and find it very organized and lots of detail however, as a suggestion, if you were to label the individual parts in reference to the exploded views I think, it would improve the figuring out what part is what and were does it go dramatically. I enjoy your channel and your very clever cabinet making style! Thank very much for sharing!
My first workshop table was a 4ft x 8ft beast with drawers and the same levelling feet as this one. I’ve started to feel it’s a bit too large for the majority of general assembly work so I’m considering making 6 of these, two for a mitre saw station and the other 4 to be able to assembly into a 4x8 workstation for breaking down large sheets but then allowing them to be pushed up against the wall of the shop to create an open floor plan area for other tasks when needed
Amazing work as always! Your work bench’s and shop are truly exceptional with beautiful sense of design and craftsmanship. Very inspiring to see one of the best on RUclips.!
With the help of your plans and the videos, I started building my first workbench as a beginner! The frames are ready and I try to use regional 3-layer wood for the body ... but it's hard to get at the moment! Kuno von Odenbach in Germany
I have looked at many designs and videos and I must say your modular unit is something I was thinking of. So when I found yours, I was very happy. I'm intrigued whether you plan on designing more units with the same modular setup? I have a mitre saw and a bench saw that I'm planning on integrating into my workbench, some varients on your modular system. Maybe a router station too. If you are planning further additions to this series, please let me know as I'll hold off my current build to see what you come up with? :) Many thanks for sharing your amazing designs and informative videos. So glad I found your channel.
Sorry, one more question...? Did you explain how you join multiple modular workstations? My floor in my garage isn't that smooth, so a solid fixing solution is needed. I've just bought the plans and will look through.
I like the modular nature. I can't decide whether to build two of these or one big one. My concern about the modular one is that when connected together you couldn't use all the dogs for making perfect 90 degree cuts. No matter the connection type I think the error would be too great vs one big cnc/parf cut top. For small pieces and clamping it's great though. Really like the benches.
answering my own question I guess you cut have a t-track on both side and use another piece of metal to make sure the join the rock solid. The two tops would need to have the dog holes cut at the same time in this configuration too.
I really like this design and I bought the plans as I will be building it, probably 2-3 of them. My only concern is if I want to use a couple of the work benches as an assemble table - will the be dead flat and on the same plane? Assuming that each bench is built same size and accurately and that the floor is level.
I always love your videos, they are easy to follow and detailed. I purchased your plans for the band saw and have the frame together. I'll do a video on finishing it.

I can't wait to eventually have a space that I can build something like this, one question I have is how would you lock all 4 wheels if you put 4 together as you won't have access to the wheels in the middle, I get you can do all 4 on 3 of the benches but the 4th would have a wheel left unable to be adjusted, do you have a solution for that? or when 2 are together and placed against a wall as I have seen you have in other videos, how do you adjust the middle back wheels? Huge fan of the builds.

hi Suso what do you think about using mdf for the cabinets instead of plywood? I would like to save a few euros with current prices.
yes, you can use MDF. Check this out: It is not the same piece of furniture, but it can give you ideas:

Thanks for the great vid. Is there any reason this couldn’t be made from OSB?
you could also use OSB!
Curious what type, gauge, length nails your air gun uses to hold the plywood in place when gluing? I did not see it in the purchased plan.
0,6 x 30mm
How can I purchase the plans? The website seems to be out of business...? The idea is brilliant, would love to make my own for my garage. Thank you and take care!
hello, here you'll find the plans:

Hello Sr,
Can I use only screw around inside the frame?
hi mate, sure!
What gauge and length brad nails do you use to make each part of the frame?
Holà! Is it salt (or sand) you've added to the glue at 9:40 ? I understand why but I''ve never seen this !
btw, well done and muchas gracias !
it is salt! :D
@@Paoson_Woodworking Thanks !
Please keep in mind that most of us use Sketchup 2016 and or 2017, because they are free to use. I bought both your original and the modular plans. I could open the Sketchup models for the original, but you switched to Sketchup 2019 in these modular plans and I cannot open them.
