Mahindra's products seems to be more cohesive, more tightly integrated. What do i mean is they have more indigenous incredients in the product, mainly engines. Tata is doing exceptional in designing but end product does feel somehow unbaked rather poorly executed. every bits they have been adding is more like an afterthought. Tata definitely might have omitted that technology aspects and solely focussed onto asthetics.
Every other car in tata is crash tested. But Harrier is not. Everyone thinks it's automatically 5*. But because of the fuel pump location the driver will lose his/her legs in case of a crash. You have to doubt about GNCAPs dignity if they are hiding it by not testing just this 2 models ( safari and harrier) but punch had a rating even before release. Realise that GNCAP is just marketing and nothing more( like high res badging for headphones).

I love both companies infact I am a "Nexon" Lover and dont forget that Tata Catering all segments of car but they are not best in any segment. Tata launch Indica but the real king was Swift. Tata launch Sierra but the real king was Thar and Jipsy. Tata launch Safari but the real king was Scorpio. Tata launch Sumo but the real king was Bolero. Tata launch Hexa but the evergreen legendary king was Innova. Nowadays Tata is best seller in EV because of less competition, other companies waiting for good infrastructure for EV's. And most important Mahindra is known only for SUV's. They are Evergreen, Legendary, Iconic, Rugged, Beautiful, Fun to drive, Segment King SUV makers of all Time in India.

xuv 0-100 is 9.3 s and safari is 11.1 s. also the xuv is more affordable and has more features and drives better. so if you think practically, the safari is not even in competition with the xuv.

OK, XUV700 has 200 hp, 30 more than safari, but safari feels and is faster to drive, safari looks more rough and tough definitely, XUV700 has ADAS, but is it perfect? NO, it is a first gen technology and will take time to perfect, though i appreciate Mahindra's effort, and, safari has a plusher interior, better quality materials, NOT a screen as good as XUV700, has better ride, and feels more solid to me than XUV700. Now for XUV700, more features, looks urban and beautiful from the front(design is subjective, i like safari better, u might like xuv), has better power figures, and more engine options and 4wd. Both r gr8 cars, and certainly better than other foreign offerings in this segment, and maybe one above.

I don't know why but the rear end of the safari from the side angle is a little weird to me. I love the car but the rear end gives me severe anxieties ☺️
