For best bang for buck what you can do is: balance shaft delete, intake manifold, exhaust manifold and remap! Or even with just a remap as budget option but would unlock lots of power and optimalise power delivery, lower crossover point, higher redline etc...
I have recently pulled apart a balance shaft there isn't a way to safely delete it, best will be a k20 oil pump, the only thing we need to do is a reflash the oil pump will come soon, thanks heaps for the info and watching please consider subscribing
Go Ronda. Go John. Budget track car is a beast! Great video Tristan. Did you have final weights or did I miss that? Must've been fun driving to the track hehe
Be cool to get her down under 1200, that driver's seat will weigh a fair bit and do you have the heating and cooling rubbish under the dash you can pull out?
Nice work mate, always good to get the first shake down done. What sort of wheel alignment specs are running with the peeding rods installed? Happy to share what we are running for our FWD nugget.
Ours is just standard wheel alignment for now , some sample camber arms are on their way we need a bit less camber on the rear and a little more on the front according to the stig
@@TURBOTRISTO good stuff. Yep, it's a good idea to see how it handles with the standard alignment and then you can start adjusting. We have ended up with -4 camber on front, -2 camber on rear, 2mm toe out on front and standard caster. This is an awesome combo for turn in bite and rotation, coupled with semi slicks of course. It will be tail happy/lift off oversteer with this combo but that all comes down to driver style and preference. We are heading back to the track next Saturday with the FK8 type r and the Mirage for our last track day before xmas break. Happy days!
@@ClunieGarage what times does your fk8 do? I have a video of me in an fk8 at sandown it was my first time in that car and on that track still managed a 1:27 around there though
@@TURBOTRISTO G'day mate, I managed a 1.10 at Wakefield with stock tyres, tune, wheel alignment etc.. as it is my daily. I haven't been to Sandown but would love to get there. I am taking it to Pheasant Wood this Saturday so will post a time. Am hoping sub 1.00. I will do some research on what time a FK8 can/should do at Sandown.
Hey Tristan. You heading out there on Jan 14th? I'll be tracking my cl9 for the first time. Quick question, what phone mount is that you guys are using?
Hey man I'm sure you've done a video like this but I cant find it, I got myself an ek and I'm looking to turbo the d16 but I want to do it right no ebay stuff, suspension upgrade as well, can you point me in the right direction, thanks.
Just check through my old videos, my advice on the d16 build is get yourself a healthy stock motor and boost it to around 12-14psi with the correct fueling and ecu don’t touch the timing don’t bother building it, it will make over 300hp and love life on e85 if you build it it will blow up and cost as much as a Kswap
Hi Tristan, Im the sliver cl7 owner(Im Jacky btw) . Nice video!
Let me know if you are heading aother track and fun day. Hope see you soon again!
Hey Jacky, it was great to meet you! Sorry I should have got your name, you have an awesome car! Very fast and great driving
Love the build, i used to have a cl9. I highly recommend the $400 ecu reflash. It's the best bang for buck upgrade you could do
I will be getting it done soon for sure
Awesome video Tristan !!! Must of been a blast for everyone involved very cool !!! 😜👍🇦🇺
It sure was

@@TURBOTRISTO That's what balance shaft delete means = K20A2 oil pump conversion
I thought so

We are still pulling stuff out last check it was 1295 but more has come out and there is still more to go

the seats weigh over 20kg each we have a carbon/fiberglass bucket seat to go in it it weighs approx 5kg

Great work Tritto, loving the build. She seems a bit bouncy, could you dial in a little more rebound?
She is solid as man, we would love more adjustment
Hey Tristan. You heading out there on Jan 14th? I'll be tracking my cl9 for the first time. Quick question, what phone mount is that you guys are using?
Not sure it’s a bit shakey it’s John’s not mine I use the gopro mounts and they have stabilisation in them so that’s why the gopro footage is mint
@TURBOTRISTAN yeah mines a go pro too. Which mount are you using and how do you mount it?
just the suction cup mount from go pro
Any potential to rip a few pounds out of the flywheel that tends to liven them up a bit?
Next episode is a lightened racing flywheel it’s soo light I had to open the box to see if there was a flywheel in the box
Rhonda POWERRRR!!!
I bet you wish you were at the track day
Hey whats is the name of this track day and when was it? Thanks
This is the tampered motorsport budget enduro @ sandown raceway it was the 21st of Jan
I recomend getting into the budget enduro series if you can or if not doing a regular tampered motorsports track day
