Sir, that was a marvelous video. And your ornaments . . . my wife was watching over my shoulder . . . she pretty much pulled the air from the room. Beautiful work. Thank you.
I think you could salvage the one you showed that you blew out. Make a small ornament and hang it from the inside middle of the blown out one. Then you can call it something like “the inside surprise ornament”.
Thank you Chris. I have not gotten rid of that ornament yet and may just give your suggestion a try. Thank you for it and I am glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
They look elegant. Maybe I didn't hear or you didn't say but, about how much do they weigh since your going to hang them on a tree. Looks like I'm going to have to glue a bunch of 2x4 blocks together so I can practice. Never turned a finial, guess the hollowing part is sort of like turning a box. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Ken. The ornaments all are different weight depending on the shape. I try to make them surprise people when they pick them up due to the lightweight. Yes, it is exactly like hollowing a box. You should give it a try. I think you will enjoy turning these. Take care.
Always great to watch and learn from you Stephen! I tell everyone I know that turns, to watch learn, enjoy and subscribe to your videos! Love the ornaments! Stay safe my friend, Personal Regards -- Dennis
