    I've been using a pruning saw, crowbar, elbow grease and thinking about getting a rasp to file these woody vines down to the bare chain link metal. You have to be patient and keep at it. Trying to preserve my fence this way.

      I also have a hook that I use to grab the english ivy and pull it through my fence to yank out. It helps.

    Chain link fence is mine. The small gap does not affect performance of fence. If desired a wire can go across the bottom for strength. Most fences when installed have a space but over time debris and plants build up soils. I have done this on many urban properties with great success

      Cut with sawz all, drill 1/2-1" hole with spade bit 2-3" deep. Add a cupful of bush killer. Plug with grass.
      No more growth.

    Plants sure have a way of showing the chain link fence whose boss,..I have seen some pretty cool things on the fence line in my life over the years,..one job the gate was left open for a long period of time and the tree root itself grew around the gate frame so it couldn't be shut,..thanks for the video,..I know once the customer cuts their chain link and wants it fixed,..I will get a phone call

    are you able to replace the fence that you cut out ? i have stalks like you see in your video and want to remove them but still want my chain link fence left. Or at least replace the patches where i have to cut.

    Cutting out the chain link fence is not an option. What is an alternative. Drill it and stuff salt into the holes?

    • @Tracker5111
      @Tracker5111 Год назад +2

      use a cordless drill and large bit to drill a hole into the bush. Fill the hole with round up and done.

    How do you remove stumps close to your neighbor’s fence. You can not cut the fence

    English ivy is invasive and your neighbor is supposed to whack it back/control it. I'm clearing out bellflower, quackgrass, bugloss and skeleton weed both my neighbor's love sharing. 😡

      Can you force your neighbors to pay in court for their negligence? They might want to eradicate those awful plants. The plants cause problems.

    I prune invasives near chain link fences and pour diesel fuel around the roots to kill them.

      I've heard of this method. Now that you mention it, I wonder how safe it is to do this?
