I just finished making this and I didn't have any molds so I just spread it in a lined pan and made bark pieces with chopped pecans. It was absolutely delicious!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe!!
I'm going to make these right now! Good thing it is SO hot in my house (it has been hot in Washington DC) that my coconut oil is already melted! One less step! Yippee!
The honey doesn't stay mixed with the coconut oil, even though I constantly whisked it while pouring into the cups. After chilling in the refrigerator, the coconut rose to the top, making an unsightly white appearance, while the honey settled to the bottom. Also, silicone pans are almost impossible to find. I simply used 2-oz cups that I get from a Japanese sushi restaurant. They are used to mix wasabi and soy sauce.
Just made coconut oil chocolate bark this morning!!! It used coconut sugar, and it was a bit grainy- honey sounds like a way around that! Superfood = super good!!!! Thanks for all the great knowledge!
Thanks Sandy! The song at the end is part of the jingles that come with Garageband when you buy a Mac. If you have a Mac, you'll find all the songs in there.
nice video! I make a similar treat so it's great to have some other ideas. Would you tell me the name of the song near the end? I've heard this tune in other videos, like it and imagine it's free of copyrights. thank you... Sandy
I was making these coconut oil chocolate another day and after I got the mixture out of the fridge, the back of the chocolate got many "wrinkle", I wonder is that due to the different measurement of ingredients ? Thanks :-)
I've never gotten wrinkles. There's some tips on the website blog post I did for this video that has way more detailed info and a few tips so you may want to check that out. I find the best way to get smooth chocolates is to use an emulsifier or hand/stick blender for 20 seconds then pour into molds. Hope that helps.
I believe the melting temperature of coconut oil is appx 76 degrees. So they will start to get pretty soft at temperatures of 72 F. I guess it depends where you live. hope that helps.
Restless Palate I have been making Coconut Oil Chocolate for sometime now and continue to have the problem of it melting. I live in Alaska so it is pretty cool here, however, whenever I want to make a batch and bring it to a friends it is usually melted by the time I get there. Is there any way around this or is it simply a treat that needs to remain refrigerated? Thanks!
FAIL...I whipped the crap out of this stuff and when it hardened all the cocoa and honey settled on the bottom and was all sticky while the "chocolate" that hardened was bitter. I remelted it , whipped it again, poured it again... same thing. What a waste.
opened your 6:45 minute video to see how you do the Chocolate. 2:08 minute of bla-bla (30% of the video) before you actually start the video. very unprofessional

2:05 for the recipe. Everything before that is a dumb commercial.
2 tbsps honey and 1/4 cup of cocoa powder. Check out the full recipe at the link below the video.
Can't wait to try this! I have a soy allergy which prevents me from enjoying commercial made chocolate. Now I have a way of making some at home :)

I spread mine on wax paper on a plate that's been in the freezer, then chip it up so yummy don't need the trays

What about Sunflower letchin powder it's a healthy emulsifier that should help bond the sugar and oil together so I'm told!!!! hope this helps
Do you think 2 tbsp of the chocolate mixture would equal 1 tbsp of coconut oil for daily intake

Why de crystallize the honey?
That would raise the melting point, can you temper coconut oil chocolate?

iam having with honey and coconut oil seperate any ideas on how to resolve this
I used Hazel Nut Flavored Stevia liquid instead of honey to make my bark its so good too..
How can you make it with coconut oil that doesn't melt at room temperature?
Thank you so much for this recipe,I follow a metaboost nutrition plan abd this is right up my alley thanks so much
How much did you heat the coconut oil. Just enough to make it liquid? More than that?

No honey or sweetener needed; just raw cocoa powder and coconut oil alone make a rich chocolate treat.
Wow 9 years later and nobody else gets the joke but me 😂 hope nobody tried that after reading your comment 😮
Maple syrup would also work, but you'll want some sort of sweetener.
can I add stevia powder instead of honey to reduce the calorie content?
A blender or a hand emulsion blender works great.
2 Tbsp. You can get the full recipe at the link below the video.
Nice and easy! how much honey did you put in there?
Which type of coconut oil should be used...virgin or the normal one?
Thank you so much for this recipe!!! It worked so well :) x
I wish you would tell us the measurements

can i just throw the melted coconut oil, honey, cacao in the blender?
How long can I store these for in the freezer?
great I didn't hear the amount of honey or chocolate??????
Is the honey a must?
How many does this recipe yield??
How much honey?
Oh I said I was going to and I did! I took one of the chocolates out of the freezer to eat with breakfast this morning. Ahhh... Yummly.
Bit of lecithin will help emulsify
why do you think coconut oil is a superfood? chocolate is way more of one lol
and if you take it with you to school does it melt? :D

Delicious chocolate amazing
U did not add salt 🧂
Glad to see I don't need to add 🧂 salt
2:05 Too much talk but not even say exactly how much coconut oil. “Like a half a cup”
this did not work
You really look like my english teacher📚
I like your hair and pretty face, you look lovely
Yay, some non Futrurama reference.
Sounds like fate telling you that you should make these! :)
