Gojira made a studio and is making their own music without other people's intervention. All of the money they make is also going toward themselves, not producers and rent and stuff. It's a big deal cause it means that they pretty much have made it and are self dependent artists.

No he was just saying that they made terra incognita independantly so they are getting all of the proceeds from the sales. They are still going to be accompanied with their current label.

Why do they slow down a lot of the parts of this song? Is it to make it easier to play or something? I’m curious
