I am amazed to see how much Greenland has changed for the best. I was stationed there in 1968. Too bad I am old to return there and see this nice place again. I am happy for the natives .

It is hard to believe Greenland or Kalaallit Nunnat is so beautiful , so lively . In my childhood I learnt a little about the country . I formed an idea that the country is covered with snow entirely and inhabited by the Eskimos using dog-drawn wheelless cars over snow and kayak on water and living on meat available from seals , polar bears and so on . But the picture has changed altogether . Now it is peopled by a generation that prefers to be known as Greenlanders speaking Greenlandic belonging to the Eskimo language family . They are almost like us and are very hard-working and energetic . I am all along interested in Greenland . In my early career I had correspondence with the Royal Danish Embassy in our country and they used to supply to me a lot of informations on the development of the country . I made correspondence even with Nuuk capital of the country to quench my thirst . This video delights me extremely and I become thrilled , excited and overwhelmed with excessive joy when I watch it on youtube . With hot love from a small town of India .

The latitude is the same as Bergen and Oslo in Norway, and they have tall trees there; in the bottom of the fjords the native birches of South Greenland can reach 7-10 meters, that is a tree! The willow can grow to 4 meters there, and in Qaqortoq, where the video is shot they reach 3-4 meters. In a fjord nearby a tiny forest of a canadian and sibirian trees are planted, they've grown fine to be very tall now, they are just not native

On the lake you will find the amazing common loon nesting and make its eerie cry in the evenings. Lots of other birds, arctic hare, polar fox, lots of fish, in the nearby farming areas sheep are roaming the mountains. Whales, mostly the little minke whale, seals like spotted seal, hooded seal, bearded seal.
Birds in the area: raven, sea eagles, mallard duck, snow bunting, auk, etc.
Fish: salmon, arctic char, macquerel, redfish, catfish, capelin etc.
