The great advantage of the Internet and RUclips is that we can see places from the distance, places difficult to reach and visit.
For instance I'm now watching Nuuk from my warm Sicilian bedroom.
Benedetto Bruno what a time to be alive huh ;)
Now I feel the need to check out vids from Sicily and the Mediterranean...
NG eskimo after I watched this vídeo I got recommendatios for videos about Mc Murdo ;)
msergio0293 the station in Antarctica?? 😂😂
NG eskimo yes!! It's funny cause youtube was like, it seems like this guy likes isolated cold places, here are some videos about the other side of world and it's even colder haha
This is Radio Nuuk! The weather is good, very hot indeed, about 8°C and the sun keeps shinning for another 38 days and nights.
😂😂😂💀
8C is very cold!
Not in Greenland it ain't!
8C is actually hot lol and im from canada
Mr Burns in December we get around -20
A lot larger and more urbanised than I imagined. Great video.
Casio61 it's because the Kingdom of Denmark and Gov. of Denmark financed this area (Grenland is still part of Denmark) without Danish investitions this will be Ice Desert
If only the Canadian government do the same, it would be awesome. Our poor Iqaluit in Nunavut looks tame and third world compared to Nuuk.
Yannick Lampron, Nuuk is about 3 times the size of Iqaluit, and has for years actively worked to promote itself as a sort of transnational capital for arctic peoples, plus the annual block grant from Denmark, and you end up with a city like Nuuk.
Casio61 I was thinking the same thing, was expecting something like Nunavut
Remembr Nuuk has 15000 people, and it's the capital of Greenland, plus the govt. has high ambitions of being a sort of international Inuit peoples capital.
No matter how far you go, you still can't escape horrible pop music.
In support of your statement please name any pop music that is good.
I was thinking the same thing. Each song sounded exactly the same sung by the same exact singer.
Actually, it is. All of it.
There's worse!
Makes up for horrible Rap Music
This is a nice summer video of my home town. I didn’t film this, but I’m on these roads in my car on a daily basis. Nuuk is the capital city of Greenland with a population of 18000 people. Total population of Greenland is 56000. As I’m writing this it’s February with plenty of snow and temperatures around minus 10 to minus 15 Celsius. Nuuk is the Greenlandic word for peninsula, and the city is actually on a small peninsula.
U r living in the world's best country.
I happen to think that Greenland looks beautiful, so spacious and UNCROWDED, with beautiful mountain scenery.
A sizable town like that and not a scrap of litter, wonderful.
It's not a sizable at all. In my place, this would be a rural region.
All subjectivity as to save. England is a disgrace on the litter front. I could fill bags of discarded rubbish on any venture outdoors.
I’m surprised how modern it looks. and it looks like a good size city- can’t believe only 18,000 people live here
For some reason, I like to think that if humans ever established a colony in a distant inhospitable planet, it would look something like this
if they did the mainstream media would still be triggered over it and call the inhabitants "racists"
@@Akalynn wtf does that have to do with this video?? Why do people bring up irrelevant shit like that ?
@hax0rman1337 referring to cancer but you aren't going to mention your channel that's full of anime and dubstep 😂👏 go ahead and private your profile afterwards. I know you will....(:

the warmest day ever in Nuuk Greenland was 24c (75f) on the 9th of June 2016
WIkipedia lists 26.3C as the warmest ever temperature. On the day that this was filmed (August 24 2017), the maximum temperature was 14C.
So hot
I lived in Alaska for awhile, and I’d imagine it’s similar to Greenland’s climate. There, in 8-10 degrees (c) I’d see people out in shorts, acting like it was around 29 degrees or so.
Ok well in the uk they melt at that sooo although where I live it’s like 45C in day and -10 at night 😂
that's nothing, we had 47c last year in Delhi
Wow. For a place like this, that building at 1:35 is HUGE...

Greenland is the Danish Alaska.
Or the Canadian Nunavut
that statement could not be more true
No. Alaska is the american Greenland
You saying that shows that you dont think in reality. If Greenland were to leave The Kingdom of Denmark, it would'nt be its own nation for long. I dont think you know how much money Denmark spends in Greenland. Also - the people of Greenland likes Denmark. And we like the people of Greenland too. :)
@☠MrHairyNutz☠ they would starve to death, as they are almost one great pile of snow and ice - their budget is mostly a help from Danmark. They would have to import food, but their exports are almost nothing.
Greetings from Houston Texas. Very interesting video. I visited Iceland in April. And of course, Greenland is of interest also. Very nice to see the landscape and the best part, seeing the airport and a plane landing. Thank you!!! I would like to see the city center of Nuuk.
Daniel Clooney Thank you! Research thoroughly if visiting Greenland; north for icebergs and dogsledges, mid for modern day, south for the green in Greenland and east (Tasiilaq) for pretty much all combined. Ittoqqortoormiit for polarbears and final frontier and Sirius Patrol!!
A modern city. I love it! So clean and well planned out
18,000 people. If somebody drops a gum wrapper, everyone knows who did it.
Living in south Florida (Boca Raton) it's fascinating to watch vids of far away cold northern countries like this that are just so completely different from where we live. Let's hear it for the positive side of RUclips, showing the everyday lives of people around the world. :)
Wow! Now we're connected with Greenland. The beautiful country
I want to see Nuuk at least one time in life.

Watching from Grand Rapids, MI on a beautiful 75°F early October day! Nuuk looks like a beautiful place to visit! Thanks for posting this!
The town is small and livable. There seems to be (mostly) everything you need for living comfortably. It's quite spread out, which gives some comfort to more introverted people. Thanks for the tour!
I like how ppl bike and walk beside all the road ways
I walk always when its sunny, it Can be very beatyfull, and sometimes not.
Thank you for posting this, I can't "get away" but travel vicariously with videos as these, BTW your music, your choice !
An excellent video that gives a vivid impression of a city that's in a remote but stunning location. Now I want to visit it even more! Many thanks for this.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of Nuuk . Beautiful place
Thanks for the ride 😊
michimacho73 no problem
I like videos like this -- ordinary, everyday scenery to the locals, but the differences are fascinating if you live somewhere else.
I always wondered what the landscape in Greenland looked like. Thanks for sharing this video.
I really enjoy these drives along roads in Greenland. Need more. I'm too old to travel so this is for me the best way I can see places I can never go. Thank you for sharing.
Went to Greenland 3 months ago, have been wanting to go for years, and mainly because no one goes there. I like the unknown, the unpopular. However, it is a very difficult place to get to, can only fly from airports in Iceland, or Copenhagen. It is quite expensive. Traveling to other towns requires either a propeller plane or ferry boat. Infrastructure is quite archaic. Finding Wifi is near impossible. Ilulissat is the main tourist town, blessed with the acclaimed icefjord where one can take a boat tour of the icebergs and see whales feeding. Beyond that. . . I agreed with several other tourists that Nuuk, Sisimiut and other towns are forgettable. I read a few articles how Greenland has had the highest suicide rate for decades. Was lucky to have a candid conversation with a Nuuk local. When asked why, she nonchalantly replied it is due to the rampant incest in the smaller towns. . . After picking my jaw off the floor, I eventually made my way back to my life in the States. I feel enriched with experience and knowledge, but will never go back.
Thank you for sharing. All you have writing is quite true. I think it's the common troubles indigenous people go through, even in this day and age. Our big problem is that the government, and people in general, are turning the blind eye. "Hear no evil.." It's so covered in taboo all of it, it's really sad.
Greetings fr m your neighbor Canada!
Really enjoyed the tour of your stunning country.
Greetings from Scotland
Cool! ... A country I've always wanted to go to .. and I intend to visit, in the next six years. Thanks for the footage.
Thank you, from upstate New York, USA!
To echo others, it's great to see Greenland this way. I'll likely never make it there but I've always been curious. I know if I did make it there this is one thing I'd love to do; a road trip!
More please!
Hahaha no roads connect to other cities need to travel by boat heli or plane if you wanna visit other cities in Greenland
Great video and thank you. Greenland must be the safest place to live with all the fighting going on in the rest of the world.
Has one of the highest suicide rates in the world

I love seeing the landscape and vegetation of Greenland.
The grass, lichens, moss and lack of trees I noticed so far.

When I was in Nuuk, it was nowhere near this warm. Glad to see it actually not blanketed in sixteen feet of snow for once.

Thanks for facilitating my virtual visit to Nuuk. I've always been fascinated by Kalaallit Nunaat, otherwise called Greenland. I've read that that a third of the population of ~56k live in Nuuk. Observations from this driving tour: speedbumps are needed even in Greenland, no painted lines demarcating the pedestrian/cyclist paths from the roads, many normal cars instead of 4x4s, crash barriers with winter dents, quasi urban-desolate tundra environment. I like what I saw. Maybe some day I'll visit, via Iceland first. Now I'll take your virtual winter drive. :-)
Amazing. Beautifully clean and clear.
The security fence around the airport is impenetrable.
It is probably only to keep animals away from the runway.

Great video. I was wondering how the civilization looked on Greenland. The country always seemed like such a mystical place.
I have heard rumors that Curly patterned his laugh after this town. Good on Nuuk for that.

Watching from Alberta, Canada ❤️ I definitely want to visit Nuuk.
unbelievable; there is not even a tree, if there is I have not seen this video
It's on the tundra. The ground is permanently frozen not to far below so it doesn't have the room for the roots of trees to grow.
UrFavoriteBedwench yes I think there are like 9 black people in Greenland
UrFavoriteBedwench does it matter what colour the skin is?
Henry Tudor that's ur problem.i want to move there one day
Henry Tudor actually there are, and you can't stop it.
You have to imagine that the only roads there are within the city. There are no highways leading to the inland and no road that connects Nuuk with the other Greenlandic towns.
Liberum Arbitrium Dude, we are only 56.000 people here with 2.166.000 km2, how Can we connect with such small population?
Anguteeraq Olsen I know. I‘m just saying because Greenland is the only country where there isn‘t a single city that is connected to other cities by road.
