Everyone who's following the gymnastics world probably remembers he deserved the gold on rings in Greece but the jury decided to make a nice gesture to the hosting country. I almost cried back then, I was so angry.
Take 20 years of work for a worthy athlete and a very good and humble person. This is so sad!
I'm greek and i feel shameful because i watched the games not live but my father watched them live and even if he's greek he didn't celebrate he told me...
thats why the olympic games are on empty stadiums !!!
And the Greeks took electricity from Bulgaria, for that Olympics,.... imagine.

I am from Greece living in America. Jovtchev clearly won gold in Athens, Tampakos didn't perform as great as Petrounias did in Rio when he got gold. Big difference in their routine. The Bulgarian is the among the greatest male gymnast of all-time.

The robbed him of the rings gold medal in Athens. He lost to a Greek guy, who was given the gold because Greece was hosting the games.

No he didn't, greece was hosting the games and he got a free ride. Look at the reaction by the other athletes, they protested Yovchev being robbed.

Carl Morrow gymnastics is different ... weightlifting is judged by how heavy you lift ... the one who lifts heavier wins ... dimas didn't lift the heavier so he deserved the bronze medal ... even if he was in his country

He is not in his 20s. As of 2017 he is 44 years old Thracian gymnast. Nobody measures yet to his high quality performance for that age. Even more - he supersedes the majority of the younger generation by style, durability and complexity in his performances.
Rename to just an Owl. Nerdy doesn't fit.
Edit: Go and watch the Greek guy's performance and the mistakes. Even the simplicity and the bad landing would cost 0.2 points. Not even mentioning the rest of the mistakes.

They gave the gold to their Greek participant only because he is Greek. They will never NEVER give the Gold to a Bulgarian , i tell you ! even if the Bulgarian is better than the Greek they will cheat and put the Bulgarian in 2nd place .

The more he was getting better during time, the more he was cut of in score. This man is on a completely different level of any other gymnast even today and for sure one of the greatest athletes of all times.

It is history making for this gymnast. His 1st Olympics 1992 and he stop competing in 2012, 6 Olympics 20 years between the Olympics, and some of the gymnast wasn't even born when he competed in his first Olympics.
