Graphics over gameplay - The video game, 1980s Edition.
+CarozQH This game is terrible and it hardly looked any better. It literally loops the same events/backgrounds over and over until a 'boss' fight. I mean, I guess it was ground breaking for its time...lol
+Pay Thos (Pathos) Rom limitations on a Hue card... You can only install but much but to recycle some binary.
It's just a dumbed down Kung Fu Master/Vigilante, not that bad. Also the music is pretty nice.
I downloaded that game on my everdrive so i can play it on my turbo express and i am very happy with it.
You can tell they're so proud of that Bruce Lee sprite but then forgot to make an actual game.
One thing that no one can take away from China Warrior is that it is the only game where one fights Simon Yuen/Sam Seed as a final boss.

One of the very first PC Engine games ever made. Its Japanese title was "THE Kung Fu".

RocMegamanX Let alone two years for the PC Engine itself as the TurboGrafx-16 console we know otherwise. These earlier titles from 1987 or '88 were only ever released stateside starting in the fall of '89.

This game is all about memorization. When you memorize the patterns of objects and enemies, and time your button presses just right, it flows together nicely and is very rewarding.
This looks like the parody video games they would play in the first ten seasons or so of the Simpsons

The guy who developed the game was a drunk old man in a cave.
It’s a reference to the classic Jackie Chan movies. That’s Yuen Siu-Tien who played the “drunken master” (beggar So) in the movies. His character has been riffed in other games such as tekken.

I never liked this game and never understood why this game was more popular than Keith Courage in Alpha Zones.
I never understood why anyone would like either, although KC is probably the better of the two. If I gotta play a fighting game on the TG16 it's going to be Vigilante or Ninja Spirit.

The game's music was by Daisuke Inoue. He also did games such as RoboWarrior (NES), Bomberman 64 (N64), and Vapor Trail (Genesis).

I remember when this came out I felt like I got ripped off the game totally sucked. I did feel redeemed when I got Vigilante though.
Still better than Rise of the Robots. I sold 2 games to buy it and it got top scores in the magazines.
Todays bad games are much better than bad games from that era.

holy fuck, these sprites are huge. Its like the used the sprites from the title screen in the game, I guess that's one way to make your console look powerful , just have some chunky sprites.

Such an awful game; lazy palette swapped monks, lazy palette swapped bosses, lazy palette swapped back grounds, random object literally thrown at you by god know who, and the most sidescrolling sidescroller that ever sidescrolled. Seriously, you can’t even turn left.
