What a strange game. I like the giant sprites. That would’ve been very impressive for a home console. I’m not sure I understand why the cave collapsed when the old man went down, but whatever. I like that he reminisced about all the boss encounters while staring wistfully over the cliff as the sun rose.
There's a game made somewhat recently called Zadette that was a tribute to the old arcade games of the 80's that had these huge full screen sprites. Pretty funny to watch. As always thanks for showing off some of this old long forgotten stuff.
I made this story line myself: This us the story of a regular man that came home like any other day, to fight against his family issues: Stage 1: his grandpa's illnesses (represented in each boss). He gives grandoa's medicines. Stage 2: confronting wife issues, and her brother issues, sendibg them to her to kitchen and him to his own House and family. Twice times because they doesnt understand at the 1st one. Stage 3: fighting against sons issues: the agressive one, the girly one, the zombie-gamer one and the veggetarian one. Or probably are all in one son. Final stage: fighting against himself trying to maintaine his own sanity and his own boss (the emperor one dressed up). Ending: he finally can sleep in peace and re-do all the same things the all f Days of his Life.- Or its just a fighting Game of a dude killing random people... Whatever you want to choose...
I can't speak a word of Cantonese, but here's what I was able to transcribe from the cast list. Hopefully someone who knows Cantonese can correct this. Marine 1: Chan Dai-Gaa Marine 2: Kwok Leung-Yun Marine 3: Sing [?] Azn Babi Gurl 1: Neung Neung Doppelganger: Ng Yun-Lung Azn Babi Gurl 2: Yeung Ching-Waa Jackie Chan Lookalike 1: Lee [?]-[?] Doppelganger 2: Wong Siu-Leung Jackie Chan Lookalike 2: Ching Saa-[?] Cyborg Doppelganger: Yam Niu Lung Jackie Chan Lookalike with Dyed Hair: Saa-[?] Lee-[?] Drunken Master: Sing [?]-[?]
It can't be understated how amazing the sprites were for the time. Otherwise it's an absolute ripoff in terms of gameplay style of the Gladiators arcade game. It basically IS Gladiators, only for martial arts.

He was a load bearing boss.

Yeah it seems more like a showcase for the console's graphical prowess with the big colorful sprites, which makes sense being a Year 1 release.
I remember seeing this game back in the days, the only good thing about it was the huge sprite size.
And that intro music!!
Bruce Lee vs the Gregorian monks and Jessie Ventura.
It's not a great game, but is neat how they have different martial arts styles featured.
Hi Score Girl brought me here.
I am so baffled right now 😄
Good old rinse and repeat games
oh Fans the deadliest weapon of them all ;)
A verily strange,but a decent fighter,even by TurboGraphics16 standards.
Je serais toujours impressionné par la taille des sprites affichable par la PC Engine

17:18 пьяный мастер
So the entire quest was to beat up some drunk dude in a cave.
huge sprites and some parallax, but overall squalid game, choppy animations, very repetitive
