Hey Jason, just wanted to say that I've watched a bunch of camera review videos over the years, and they often don't have very good image samples. Your photos are great. I like your delivery style too.
I had the rx100 IV. Took it to Colombia as my only camera and it did such a good job! I sold it to help pay for some upgrades. I miss it now though. It was a great balance of being able to shoot great photos, quick video etc. Hard to beat such a powerful pocket camera! Nice video and great shots!
It has become one of my favorite cameras over the years. I'm on vacation now, and I use like a "film" point & shoot with my preset that I made, and it is a ton of fun playing around with.
Very nice video Jason, like your style!! I just got myself a Sony RX100VII and absolutely love it. so easy and convenient to carry around and capture whatever strikes my fancy. Many thanks, keep it up
Thanks Jason. I found you on Instagram and enjoyed your pictures from your Disney World experience. Picked up your preset pack Thank you - perfect for me as I shoot, Fuji, GFX 50 R, but also still use the original Sony RX 100 that I bought back in 2012, and it still takes great photos now. Looking forward to trying out your presets with the files from those cameras.
Jason, I picked up a good used rx100va and I agree with all your add- ons - the $20. Sony grip is a game changer and I also decked mine out with a similar camera strap. I definitely recommend the extra battery / travel charger, as well . Oh, and of course, a cute little camera bag. It does take great photos and is the "pocketable" camera you know you really want!
You can be the first guy to make a vid on how to get that film look on a Sony camera. There’s literally no videos or blogs on it. We need your information. Is this a film setting?
You don't need a specifig guide how to achieve a film look on a Sony camera, you need to learn how to post process your pictures to give them that film looking filter.
I bought Va before several days. Very nice device! I have good phone but quality of pictures from dedicated camera with better chip and bigger lens is noticable!
Great synopsis! Stumbled across this video while I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail, 3rd party from KEH! You basically articulated exactly the reasons why I was interested in pulling the trigger on one. I've wanted something pocketable with an EVF that I can haul everywhere, everyday for so many years and this fits the bill perfectly. Smartphones are obviously capable, but a viewfinder is so crucial to the imaging and composition process for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! Also love the travel charger! Putting that one on the Christmas list!
Lovely shots. I have a Nikon D600 but it is so big that I leave it at home most of the time and just use my smartphone. I’d like one of these Sonys. I’d also like a surround sound system that is small. I am tired of big and heavy tech.
great video, just picked this camera up and am so excited to take it hiking. thanks for all the insider info! :) definitely going to pick up a grip for the camera.
@@ordinaryhunter i ended up pulling the trigger & ordered one! on paper this lil guy should be exactly what i need! i hope it's as awesome as i think it's gonna be haha
Every time I got to Disney I always think I’m gonna want my “big” camera. Then I get there and gravitate to the smallest setup I have and just go with it.
Found this through your instagram and i really love the photos you've showcased here they look great and really give such a calming feel to them. i hope to create visuals that invoke powerful feelings like yours, keep up the great work!
I know and I honestly can't believe another company hasn't stolen the idea yet. Would be cool to see one with a little battery bank too. Thanks for watching!
Appreciate it!! You definitely should give one a go if you’re interested. The MK3 version is pretty cheap at the moment and still a great little camera.
I am very interested in RX100 III to RX100 VA because they all have the F1.8 24-72mm equivalent lens, because in my experience with handling my father's DSLR during the holiday is that I can't really focus on having fun when lugging the camera and batteries.
I charge the battery in camera with the micro USB cable. Not sure how long you've had it, but mine developed an issue where it would not turn on/off with the power button. It would power on/off with the EVF (a selectable option) so I could still use the camera. I sent it to Precision Camera for repair, $328 (ouch) and they replaced all the electronic boards, plus a cleaning and calibration. Now it's as good as new. It's a very capable camera. Battery life is weak though. So I have 4 batteries.
I looooove the EVF's on those cameras. Rad review. It's always fun to hear people talk about cameras they love (or hate lol, no in between for me haha)
Hey! Great photos and video! Just picked up a new MKIII as my first camera for a bargain and I’m loving it. Also, meeeega curious to know where to find that lanyard you’re rocking, please :)🙏
Very nice photos. I have the RX 100 III, but I'm not a fan of it at all. I prefer my older Olympus XZ-1 for a compact point & shoot. But, my daily carry is a small Micro 4/3 camera - also an Olympus. For things like concerts, I use a Panasonic Lumix GX8 and a few different prime lenses (Olympus 45mm f 1.8, and 12mm f 2.0 + Panasonic 20mm f 1.7 and 25mm f 1.7), and I love the results I get from that setup. I'd love to get my hands on a Panasonic GM5 for the evf on a very compact camera body with access to tiny interchangeable lenses, but it has become far too expensive for my taste.
I love my ZV1(similar),I wish it had an EVF and flash. Only thing I wish it had was a way to stop the zoom at 35, 50, etc. I always fly past them lol. Love love love your work bro. Good video
I was so close to picking up a ZV1. I think that one is a lot better than mine at video. If it had an EVF, I would absolutely pick one up. It’s such a great little camera too.
@@ordinaryhunter I just throught the build quality of the LX10 wasn't great. My lens had a lot of problems from dust to the lens cap not closing to denting easily
I have the RX100 VII. It’s similar. When mounted on a tripod, it shoots better video than my iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone stabilization crushes the Sony though. It takes better selfies than my phone too. That said, I carry it less now and don’t have as much use for it as the iPhone camera has improved so much.
Dang, that stinks that you got rid of it and regret it. At least you got the MK1 still, and I’m sure that’s probably just as good honestly for general photo taking.
Hi, Jason. Im looking to buy either this one or Panasonic lumix tz200. Do you have any experience with that one, and which of the two camera is the best in your opinion?
How do you think it does in low light / night landscape photos. It's one of the main reasons I'm looking into getting this one. What settings do you use for night photos?
I am really looking forward to buy a compact pocket camera, can you please suggest me between this or gr3, which one should I buy, does it have flash for night time flash photography ?
There’s no real wrong answer here. If you want a zoom lens and evf, get the Sony. However, if you want a bigger sensor and fix prime lens, get the GRIII. Both are pocketable and about the same price.
Maybe, the newer ones have a longer lens, but aren't as fast lens wise. I think it depends on how far away you are then. If you need the reach, get a new one. If it's darker and you're close, I'd say get this one because it lets in more light.
From the net: “What is the difference between RX100 V and VA? Improvements of the VA over the V: Bigger buffer (233 files vs 150) Proxy movie mode (captures 720p footage for proxy editing alongside 4K footage) “Zone” AF area mode.”
V is 5 if you didn’t know. It’s a Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VA or DSCRX100M5A/B depending on the listing. It’s all the same though, unless you are looking at the older non “a” model. The refreshed “Va” model gains a newer processor and various firmware tweaks.
The Mk3 doesn't have phase detection autofocus, the Mk5 was the first to have it to my knowledge. You have a very pleasant presentation style btw
Hey Jason, just wanted to say that I've watched a bunch of camera review videos over the years, and they often don't have very good image samples. Your photos are great. I like your delivery style too.
Thank you this video Jason, I own the RX100V and was thinking about selling it but after watching this, I think I'm going to keep it.
I bought a rx100va yesterday as a companion for my Leica M11-P and I'm loving it so far
That pic of your mom and the windmill sunset are awesome.
I have this same camera and love it.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you like yours too.

Good down to earth video without going into all the ( to me ) not needed features
Really great street photography camera
You steered me towards the RX100V a few years back. It has been absolutely perfect for me. Great review and nice to see your face pal!
Miss you, man! Hope you are doing well. I'm glad to hear you like yours too. It is a great everyday camera.
Hi, how is the image stabilization? Thx!
Love these Jason! You’re super humble and I love how casual you keep it. Love your photo work ❤
Thank you so much for watching, Tom! I really appreciate it and your kind words ❤️

Guess u need to shoot raw and use post processing to achieve film look. Can't tell cuz I don't own a rx100 so idk probably no function for film look
You don't need a specifig guide how to achieve a film look on a Sony camera, you need to learn how to post process your pictures to give them that film looking filter.

Well how,do you like it so far?😊
Good review! I like how Sony continues to invest in making great quality small pocket cameras in the smartphone era
Totally agree, these little pocket cameras definitely have a place still.

I’ve had a couple and beat the crap out of them. My 100V has a busted EVF but still takes great photos.
you're awesome, love your energy! hope to get one of these one day. Thanks
currently debating this camera. i dont lug my main with me everywhere & i find myself never shooting for fun like i used to. thanks for the video.

at last! review was worth the wait, you get so much out of that thing 🙏 Fuji just needs to bring back their own version
Thanks, man!! I totally agree. I hope they really do bring back the X70 again.
An excellent commentary, thank you!
I have the Canon GX5 mark II and they look almost identical. Great camera too.
The GX5 is such a great camera too.

Can you go in detail about your settings? The camera does not shoot like this out of the box sir. WE NEED HELP
I just made a video about a preset I made, but I'd be open to making a video about shooting the RX100V and making it look like "film."
I am really looking forward to buy a compact pocket camera, can you please suggest me between this or gr3, which one should I buy, does it have flash for night time flash photography ?

Would you please tell me the brand or model of your wrist strap??

how to update firmware RX100VA, is the same firmware with RX100V ?
Can u comparation Photo result with Iphone 14 promax or 15 promax?
Link to that battery charger ?? Please
Is VI any good?
so this is a version of the mark 5?

for that much money ill rather go for lumix lx100 mk2 not to mention rx1 with full frame sensor goes for similar money these days
why "music"?
Yesterday I bought an RX100Va to complement my Fujifilm x70. For some reason the quality of the images is horrible. Even setting iso 100...
iPhone 15 Pro Beats this & that’s why Sony needs to hurry up and update the RX Line
Beats it at what may I ask? Also remember they already have rx mkvii so the rxva is older
IS THERE ND FİLTER ON RX 100 Va ? OR ANY RX 100 HAS ND ?
From the net:
“One big change when Sony moved to the 24-200mm lens on the RX100 VI and VII is that it no longer has a built-in ND filter.”
No need to get more professional. There are plenty of guys who deliver it like a weather man!
