Cedar Canoe Totally agree for the watch case. I have the tegimented U1. The tegimented buckle scuffs a bit after 5 years of enthusiastic use, though. Still my favourite watch, though! 😎
lmao not even Elon musk, bill gates or mark Zuckerberg were able to afford such watches at 18 years old, their companies were just starting, and they are proven self-made billionaires, but you really want us to believe that this guy had crafted a well respected company, and he had the means and contacts necessary to sell that company to a high enough margin (to whoever it is that he sold it to) and that allowed him to live a life being confortable buying 80 thousand dollar watches.... hmmmmm, ok I guess.
I am the 444 like on this video and unfortunately not the 66 comments but 67 LOL...Anyway great interview with this young man I truly respect for his achievement and passion for AP. For me, my first AP was not a good experience, a vintage two tone Royal Oak that I bought on the spot and discover later that it was not in the best condition. Took a lost on it...but I still love AP and hope someday it will be again on my wrist ( top shape of course ).
On my 18th birthday I had enough to buy a pair of Nike running shoes. I was happy. He invested his money in nice watches. I threw away the shoes after 1 year of hard use. Who was smarter? Haha. --Michael
@@robitector1 My point is that he is not self-made but is the son of wealthy and powerful parents. People don't start collecting AP's at the age of 17 while still studying, he's been bankrolled since birth.
Alex K. Ohh yeah that‘s a given. To get there you need to be filthy rich and have massive connections. But everything from there on I do believe is his ‚work‘
@@Atombender Agree, its pathetic... Genta would hate all these modern interpretations and the people that adorn them... AP has such a crass, nouveau brand, I constantly question why I keep my 15202 and 15300...
Royal Oak has the iconic case shape but thats it. Most people buy it for the case design. Beyond that, the kind of money they are charging for the watch is ludricrous. The quality nor the QC of the movement is not even on par with Grand Seiko Spring Drives, Zenith, Rolex, and Omega.
Great that wei koh made it a point to go into how he was able to afford a royal oak at 18. Great job preempting all the negative comments.
Asked the direct questions on any sensible person's mind but nobody dared to ask
Great interview, cool to see that you can be an AP guy and not a wanker.
"When I was 18 had saved up a little bit of money" sounds like the start of the story how you buy a royal oak :P
Great video! Wei took his interview skills to the next level. 👏👏👏
Glad to see Wei Koh started pronouncing bezel the right way.
Sinn has an incredibly strong pvd-coating on top of a tegmented case. Unscratchable (1200 Vickers) and the pvd is super tight

Meeting Wei Koh for a lunch meeting would be a dream come true
Great to see you are back making content. Thank you.
One of the greatest interview ever😍👍👍👍👍👍
no way he is "self made" lol
its good to have rich parents though lol
Its not cool to be a rich kid anymore
its not cool to be a hater.
@@dingdong8328 nobody is hating on here really ..... is just kids now days called themselves “self made” way too often lol
great interview, really neat that a passionate collector influences the brand and vice-versa!
Great interview ! Two legends !
Impressive, impressive collection and he didnt even shown his RD2 and 15202BC which i absolute love.
always great to watch your reviews on AP!
Someday, will have a Royal Oak - for now, happy to rock Black Bay 58 👍
The Weekend Hack you have the best watch on the market IMO
“Yo you have to buy me right now” exactly how I feel about the 15500 right now, been dying to receive that call from AP. As Austen would say “Right” 😁
Amazing conversation! Great video
Amazing Interview, super enjoyable and interesting!
Congrats on the new office! great video tho! just inlove with Austin's Collection!!1 cheers
Bela coleção! Muito bom gosto!
This is awesome! I am a big fan of Austen!
A great conversation about an amazing watch brand, so jealous......

Elon Musk's dad owned an emerald mine in apartheid South Africa. Smart guy? Yes. Self made? Absolutely not.

Austen is as self made as Wei Koh.
He self-made his inheritance.
exactly, easy to be self made when you come from a powerful rich family!
bwahahahahaha especially when they say it over n over 😂. Self made don’t talk my guy.
ianmedium you have proof or facts?
"Open work as daily watch" You know this guy is at a different level in horology :)
Great interview!
Amazing! Austen is my fav collector of APs. Came for yhe RD2 though!
Woo, another Rich Kid of Instagram pretending to be a genuine entrepeneur.
Alex K. If he‘s had a say in coming up with a watch for the chinese demographic then he‘s not pretending...

@@robitector1 True entrepeneurs take risks. If their businesses fail, they will usually be in financial trouble. Not so this guy.

Owning one AP is super. Owning more than one throws your entire raison d'être into question.
some serious APs here, nice video amigos.
quite telling about the state of AP that AP Collector just means Royal Oak collector...
Anyone know what shirt Wei is wearing?
Wei smoking Davidoff- like that. Which one is it? Greets
love the ap concept and that shirt
That double balance spring Openworked!
Nice to Wei Koh pissed outside his head. Smoke that cigar.
What watch is Wei Koh wearing in this video?
Kevin S i think its a mb&f
Looks like a Jacob and co watch
I need that freaking black ceramic fuck all the other watches
Love them all
Finally a new In Conversation with video. Keep em coming man. Maybe get Kevin O leary next time.
$500k watch... this is the perfect daily beater.

Ps
This is an exceptional w collection
Why does this young dude have so much money?!
Either winning the lottery or "selling" a "company" for tons of money where family didn't get involved 😂
Sounds like he’s an entrepreneur who’s worked his tail off.
The Weekend Hack wearing a $80K watch at age 18? That’s like buying a Ferrari as your first car.
18 years old and he’s buying AP Royal Oak?
no hate but if you've got rich parents that's easy to do
🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥
AP is like Autodromo.
Awesome collection but self made?? sure bro!
👍🏻
Great Wealth!
Wei lost the yesyesyes😪
What is Wei wearing? Is that GF?
Swan Htet mb&f
Yeah, what should we do now for “greater China”? This kid’s taste is childish.
This "dude's" eyebrows
hodinkee move aside please
Have to admit, Wei's MB&F trumps any AP....
