  • The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is the BEST museum for movie lovers, fans of film history, and followers of the Academy Awards. If you live in the Los Angeles or Hollywood area or go here for a vacation, this is a must-see!
I stopped by during my recent trip to Hollywood and shot a quick tour video showcasing The Godfather exhibit, Boyz N The Hood, Agnes Varda, Pedro Almodovar, and amazing props from films like Casablanca, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Batman!
Check out the Academy Museum website for more info: www.academymus...

I would argue there's a better option here in Seattle. The Museum of Pop Culture. It covers music, movies and TV. It also has a regular rotation of a special exhibit on the 3rd floor. It currently has all the Laika movies until the end of summer next year.

As someone who has been to both, the MPOP has nothing on this museum.

As a movie lover myself I would be in awe to be there, like a kid in a candy store, I would love to see the history of movies through all the different eras and to see how it's changed through eras with all the different film formats & tech, I live in Melbourne, Australia which is pretty far but if I lived near there I would definitely go to see this film history museum. I would love to study the great's of film and appreciate their fine works in person, top video, thank you I really loved it and really do appreciate it.

If you ever go, make sure to pay the extra $15 for, The Oscar Experience. I’ve been there twice now. Just last week, I visited again!

This place looks awesome! In addition to being a big film buff, I am also a big classic rock fan, so I was really happy to get the chance to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Definitely the coolest things I saw there were Roger Taylor's drumsticks (Queen is my favorite band), Roger Daltrey's microphone (taped up from swinging it around), Elton John's flashy outfits, and probably the coolest: the Thriller jacket! This museum is DEFINITELY going to be next on my list if I ever get the chance to go over to the west coast and visit!

He didn’t mention “The Oscar Experience”. For and additional $15, you get to experience what it’s like to win an Oscar and hold an honest to goodness real one. Not a replica but the real deal. They video you while you accept your Oscar, accompanied by cheers and applause. They send the video to your email. It’s so much fun!

Not sure about this being the best.. did you go to the Icons of Darkness? It’s a massive private collection of movie props and costumes that you can tour in Hollywood. All owned by Rich Correll from Leave it to Beaver!

The Pop Culture Museum in Seattle isn't really a top museum for movies tho. It's alright, but there are like 20 better museums for movies out there.

@@vlogsbyalejandro And then everyone once and a while an art museum will just get a very niche genre film exhibit for a limited time and those tend to be pretty awesome. LACMA every once and a while just had a killer film exhibit.
