You know this guy knows what he's doing when all the bolts are all thrown together in a bowl and he can figure out where they all go! Crazy!
For real 😂
Not really mate my first bike I ever owned and worked on is a yz450 I took it apart put it into a bowl and just remembered we’re they went, most of the bolts are the same anyway so you’ll be able to tell
@@steveb8205 where* (How do you mess up your grammar that badly?)
Man, that blow torch technique for repairing scratches blew me away. You're something else!
I found that to be a cool trick as well
it can make the plastics brittle and hard.
Better to sand it with increasing grit to avoid making the plastic brittle from heat
as the others have said its a bad idea tbh. sanding it by hand is better, heat from a torch or heat gun is very likely to make it brittle. maybe not right now but in a few weeks it can even crack form getting hard. you really see it with fenders
I tried it on bike fender and right away faded to a way whiter color. And the glossy surface soon started peeling off. I tried it on a trumpet hard hat and there o saw the results that are in this video. But I don’t suggest it for bike plastics.
I started my first ever rebuilding of a dirt bike a few months ago and just wanted to say a huge thanks for all of your videos.
one of the main reasons I watch your videos is because it makes my ocd brain happy to see how the parts go from dirty to clean. it all comes out so freakin good!
I'm the same way haha. I cannot stand to see dirty parts.
I wish i had a garage set up like yours its so good
Thanks!!
just watching this vid now, I'm more than jealous of your garage man it's killer!
Liked and subbed.
@@CameronNiemela How did you find this property that you're in?
Andrew Crocker ???
@@kalzu. whats up? Not allowed to ask that? Lol
That bolt holding the foot peg mouting plate/bracket.
You are the best!!
i love seeing all the detailed work on taking apart dirt bikes cuz it helps me when i'm taking my dirt bike apart. keep up the good work man!!
Thanks!!
I like your vids. I know I like watching how you take the bike apart and clean it all up. Gave me some ideas for cleaning the bikes up this winter. Get it ready for spring, or those unseasonably warm days in the winter. Plus, it shows how much care and detail you give so your customers get a good part.
I appreciate that man! Glad you enjoy the videos!
Awesome work man! Thanks for taking the time to show how it's done.
Thanks for watching!
AWESOMENESS! Thanks for sharing your methods with us!!
Awesome content ,longer vids mean we don't miss a thing thankyou
Thank you for posting. The detail is great and encouraging.
I appreciate you watching the video!
perfect videos . your skills and knowledge are incredible . keep up !
Really nice shop man, and I love the tip with the torch! I will try that on one of my projects and I might steal that for a video of mine; I will credit you though!
Thanks! Checked out your channel and diggin what you're doing. Keep it up!
Cameron Niemela Awesome! Thank you!
Man I love these long videos of cleaning and fixing its so satisfying keep the vids up
Thanks for watching!
That bolt holds the foot peg mounting bracket.
Damn dude!! That's god level mechanical knowledge right there.
Damn, I guessed suspension or engine mount
Edit: *rear shock linkage
@@jameschartrand7962 it looked a lot like one of the subframe bolts from my kx 125, thats what i originally thought.
Agreed
I know because I rebuilt my bike after watching you rebuild that cr125 a while back. Love your vids
The touch thing is amazing never thought that would work that’s for an amazing tip thank you
amazing system you have there!
Love you are so detailed!
Looking good bro!! I love ur shop. I'm working in a borrowed shop right now, when I set mine up I definitely want the to have indoor pressure washer.
Just used the blow torch tip on my front mudgaurd, works awesome.. And will be buying what I think is the Australian Equivalent of the Eagle one cleaner (Septone Aluminium Brightner) tomorrow. Annoying that I can't source the Eagle one, but comparing SDS's I think it should do the job!
Brilliant video !!!
super cool video keep them coming
Soooo good work, its motivate me to go out and wash my bike:)
What a badass garage!
So basically all I need is a shop with solvent tanks, pressure washer, huge tub sink, heated sonic vibrating bubble bath crap. It’s like a damn day spa for bolts in that place!
Meanwhile I’m sitting here with old ripped up shirts a 5 gallon bucket with suds and a used toothbrush.. I guess I just didn’t know the “Secrets” 🤦♂️
Awesome video!🤙👌
Thanks!
You're my hero.
Greetings from Jalisco Mexico.
Great vid dude
I thought you reminded me of somethin... and now I realize what it is.
You look like Elliott the deer from Open Season. 😂 interesting
BrettK dead 😂
Yes, his mouth is too big indeed
You're a dick.
So good man 😂😂
Trevor Bruce Lmao this dude Parilla callin me a dick. Little does he know I was one of the kind supporters to make a bolt kit purchase when that company was running his cancer fundraiser. I’ve also talked to Cam a hand full of times. Much love 😂
Your channel has the best videos subbed and turned notifications on. I have a 2001 yz 125 and it needs some parts restoring and a good clean so I’ve watched a few of your videos for some advice
Thanks for checking out the videos!
@@CameronNiemela what kind of power washing cabinet is that? Did you make that or buy it?
Dude! I'm new to the channel, I really like your videos and I support the KX250F project series! I like the tips you give! Plus a like!
Thanks so much for joining the gang over here!
A hug from Brazil!
Whenever I've rebuilt bikes I always put the bolts back in loosely from where they came, saves a lot of time in the long run especially when you have similar bolts of different lengths, another tip is to search for "magic sponges" they're are very cheap and great for cleaning plastics, rubbers and all sorts else, they are essentially a very extremely fine abrasive sponge
I have a great tip for brightening up aluminum parts without the use of polishing tools or abrasives . Works best on parts with large smooth areas that are oxidized , like old mag wheels for cars. Saves much labor. There is a laundry detergent made for babies clothes and blankets called Dreft, Yes no typo..Dreft. A liquid detergent. Simply spray it on the surface, wait a few minutes, and rinse off. The trick is learning the proper amount of time to wait. Usually about 5 minutes. Too long and the opportunity to simply rinse off expires, too soon and it does not do enough to clean it up. But you can do no wrong. If you miss the sweet spot moment, let it dry and apply again. Dry is important. Always apply to a dry part or it does little good. Rubbing or scrubbing, and polishing is almost a thing of the past unless its to polish scratches from previous non-Dreft attempts. Works! Great for vintage engine cases that are not sand cast as Maicos are. Cleans them okay, but the best results come on parts like fork sliders, rims, hubs, cases, etc. Flat and polished but grey and oxydized becomes new with a spray and rinse.
Another damn good video, keep em coming!
Thank You!
Bolt goes to the foot peg mount and I would love to see a bike like that put back together with the fresh revived parts!
What a beautiful build!I love this kind of work.I restored my RMZ 250 2009 like this.if I only knew how to get rid of that aluminum oxide on the frame and hubs...
Thank You!
Sandblast and anodize. You can do it at home if you are willing to tinker a bit,but its usually cheaper to pay someone to anodize it,that way it will be scratch resistant and easy to clean. Plus you can either choose to leave it original aluminium colour,or pick any of the thousands colours available.
Nice Work!
Your very good in cleaning, washing every parts of your bike,,, that is your best talent,
Hey Cameron, great video! Is there any way to bring a faded seat cover back to life? I was thinking a vinyl cleaner of some kind? 🤔
Cam, you can start a service cleaning parts. I have boxes.
Great video once again! I think having an ultrasonic cleaner would really help you to get those parts such as throttlebodies and carbs to be super clean.
Thanks! I'll check out the ultrasonic cleaners!
super sweet garage set up
Thanks!!
Awesome video!
Thanks!!
wow nice tools i hope i have one of these tools for restoring my dads bike...
too late right now but tomorrow morning the second i’m up i’m going to go try that blow torch trick looks amazing
like the way you maintain your bike!
Thanks!
Awesome video and shop. Everything you need significantly reducing the work keep a dirt bike in excellent condition
Ok , tell us more about your what looks like harbor freight blast cabinet . That’s pretty cool, watches your older vids but we need details on the pressure washer set up.Thanks great channel
They have come up pukka clean bruv. Like New. Nice work. I'm trying to sell the parts I have in my garage and the problem I have is putting stuff away so I can find it easily. Thanks for the tips and the cleaners out there. I may get me some. All the best mukka and keep em coming.
Thanks Ray! I appreciate that.
Your life really looks like it kicks ass bro! And that heat on the plastic deal, mind blown

thats a great idea washer in a sand blaster ......badass
Great channel, just subscribed. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this... but you sound exactly the same as 'Shawn Woods' who does mouse trap videos, another great channel. If you dont look at the screen you can't tell you 2 apart....
isn't it nice having all the space and equipment you need to do this? I just bought a house with a big building out back, heat/Ac and running water. got my tools and parts cleaner, etc.. all set up. it's cool having your own shop!! great vids!!
Yes it sure is! Congrats on your purchase!
Thanks For Your Video… I learned a lot from this video…
Roy 🤓
I saw someone on YT scraping his plastics with a razor blade. He scraped a thin layer of plastic from the plastics and headed them afterwords just like you in this video. They looked like new after this method!
Yup that's a great way of cleaning up plastics!
I owned a 08 for a cpl years. Id say footpeg bracket. Pretty sure another bolt goes to it as well.nice vids
I love witching your RUclips blog.
Nice how you use the torch to make plastics great again! 😂
Very nice vid!! Hey, what chemical do you have with your water tank?
More than likely the foot peg mount and the torch and air box trick just amazed me I have an 01 cr250 I'm doing a frame up build on and the air box is just crap and rivets are coming off its just terrible and they don't manufactur that part anymore so I'm stuck with fixing it and putting more rivets in it
i havent looked at comments, but bolt looks like the bolt at 6:33 in the last vid, which is the foot peg mounting bracket bolt
Fantastic video
Thanks!!
Hey Cameron! Please help me - How do you get that shiny glass finish on motorbike plastics?? I’ve used a gentle plastic polished my DRZ plastics and they have a little haze to them now. Do you suggest a wax or maybe a ceramic plastic coat to finish them??
im pretty sure that bolt is for the rear sprocket btw great content do you do any kx80s
Nicely done. Try cleaner wax on those vinyls (and even plastics, test spot first). Works a treat!
Thanks for watching!
Can you share a link to your pressure wash cabinet? Thanks, great content!
Siiiick!
Thanks!
Q. What is the best way to remove deep scratches from the plastics?
Tried various sandpaper grades and a cut & polish cream, no luck.
Some have had luck with using a razor blade to scrape away the plastic around the scratch and using the torch trick to smooth out the scrapes.
Hey what is the blast cabinet/power washer set up youre running? It looks like a HF blast cabinet but a mix from that and a vapor honing cabinet>. Please explain
That sun faded plastic trick was like magic
What are you dipping the parts in and do you have a any tips on restoring white atv plastics
Perfect !
Thanks!
great video..
Great video, where did you get a pressure washer like that?
Jerry Patten harbor freight tools
I don't know about you guys but I can appriciate a clean dirt bike for the pros but man. I'm not a pro and personally I love seeing my bike dirty!! It means I'm out there using it. lol.
any tips on polishing plastic? currently just sanded my white plastics up to 1500 grit. searching for the best possible way to restore the shine. thanks!
Can you do a quick vid of how you converted the blast cabinet to a pressure washer?
Do you have a shop tour video? I’d like to find that sink and tool cabinet for my shop.
Do you have a video of what cleaning products you use? like the Aluminum cleaner?
Cameron your a cool dude love you videos
Not as cool as this guy^^
I like how you go step by step your videos help alot of us out do you have any leads on a kx65 I really need a kick starter do you have any idea if other kick starters would fit . Also I would like to se you do a build even if we all chip in and then you do a give away I thought that would be cool any ways keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! Sorry, no KX65 kick starters at this time.
your channel is graet. the way you restore and rebuild is detail. i like when you cleaning every corner of the parts how ever in view of your video i feel its anti climax such in this video if you could show us the complete finish rebuild of the bike it would be awsome.
Thanks for watching! Check out the latest videos I've done, currently building a bike.
Awsome❤️
thats the bolt that holds the footpeg assembly to the frame :)
breezeffs jump your correct. Nice.
A question, do you think to heat up the plastic to get a better color will work on blue radiator wings?
what do you used to clean the plastic 9:28 that spray ???
i have it white and it gets dirty very quickly and it is starting to fall off
any suggestion ??? thank you
Hay Cameron :) Do u sell the parts in only your country or do u ship aswell? cheers from sweden!
would it make a difference if you sanded the plastic before you heat it to help remove scratches?
How did you use the maroon scotch brite pad on those plastics? I cleaned underneath my rear fender with one today and left tiny scratches. Maybe not all scotch brites are the same grit. Oh well I will get them out tomorrow. Hope you’re feeling good these days.
Hey bud, I’m restoring a Honda cr125 1997 and I was wondering if you had plastics, bolts, parts. Anything that you might sell cheap or chuck away if I could have, I’m missing quiet a few things.
Also my power pipe is looking sad like a beaten sausage :(
which is the footrest holder bolt with which it is fixed to the frame, there are 2 of the left and right.
Still wanted to give advice on the choice of subject for filming commercials, do about the technique of landing on the bike, how to take turns, start and so on,a COOL THEME, we have in Russia a large number of subscribers from those who sincerely, honestly removes commercials and you are!!!!
I wish I had your layout I could use those in house stations
Ever think about opening up an MX restoration shop in California ?
We're can I get the mag wheel cleaner from dude looked every were in UK
