I worked on that version of Pokemon Yellow, didn't make it, but I did all the music and translated it from chinese along with a few other tweeks to things like level progression and color palettes. It really is an impressive game. Even has more content than the original, like post game content that lets you get the legendaries from the second and third gen games. It's crazy impressive.
Been meaning to go back to it and redo all the overworld graphics to look better and have nicer colors.
Fun fact, the company that made Final Fantasy VII on the NES, Shenzhen Nanjing, made Pokemon Yellow as well. They run on the same engine. Something that made hacking this game very easy since I am already familiar with how the game works.

My guess is, USA discovered Dragon ball reeeaaallyy late, like in early 2000, as us in Europe, grew up with Dragon Ball in the 80s even before DBZ was even a thing. Super Maruo (スーパーマルオ) is an unlicensed game released in Japan in 1986. It is the first documented unlicensed Family Computer title and the first adult-oriented game for the NES. Despite the name, aside from the player's sprite being an edit of Mario, has no relation with Nintendo's Mario video game series whatsoever.
The gameplay is very simple. You're a man and you have to go after the woman running around on the screen. At the same time, you have to avoid the dog that is chasing you around. After grabbing the woman, you are awarded a scene of her stripping or posing.

I think part of the reasons why Pokemon never had a main line game on a Home console until the switch was probably because Pokemon lends itself to the portable nature of the Game Boy DS and switch so having it on a console that you can bring anywhere and pick up and play at any time and make a little progress and then put it down whenever you want is a huge part of Pokemon's appeal not many people probably would have liked Pokemon as much if you couldn't play it wherever and whenever you want because when it came out TV and console time was heavily monitored and restricted by parents.

Mario doesn't do anything with her, not explicitly anyway. You catch her, it cuts to a 2 frame "animation" of her without a shirt, then the game repeats with recolored sprites. You catch her again, another crappy 2 frame "animation," and so on.

If you advertise as fake and it works then I don’t see a problem with selling them.

That yellow version feel like they ran yellow under the silver/gold engine which would be more than enough of a reason to play yellow again lol

One day when i buy an nes im getting that pokemon yellow. Thats amazing! Ive always thought it was a missed opportunity not to do the games like emerald or crystal or yellow on the home consoles. Those are supposed to be the definitive versions of those gens. Or they could have done the super mario all stars collection treatment, remade yellow on the snes.

As someone who played the original Pokemon Yellow many times, I'd say that's a well-made fan port. The sprites of the pokemon are from Gold and Silver, the main character's movement is reminiscent of FireRed/LeafGreen, and it kind of surprises me that, given how it was even modded to account for a larger screen size, they somehow couldn't get the jumping animation in there. Or maybe they thought that would be just enough for Nintendo to take them to court, who knows.

Bro that Pokemon yellow one looks cute. And one the NES makes it look like a traditional (J)RPG. Kinda like FF.

When I was a kid I played pokemon yellow, but I actually didn't have a Game Boy. I did however have a SNES, you could use the Super Game Boy adapter to play that (or any Game Boy games) on the SNES. So it's actually somewhat similar.

I did a little research because I want to play this Pokemon Yellow for NES, I believe this was made for China and someone made an english patch, then someone else applied the patch and put it on a cartridge and then sold you it. I really want to play that it looks WAY better than I thought it would look.
