Steve it's great you're keeping the great British phone box alive, as there aren't many about on the streets of the U K now, most are either scrapped or put into people's gardens for decoration. A great job, and your enthusiasm to get others to do woodworking projects is infectious. Thank you, best wishes,Peter
What a great idea!! Our local woodworking club has a yearly contest using one standard 2 x 4...never seen an idea like this come out of their contest...very unique indeed! Great job and project.
You are, without a doubt, one of the most creative people on RUclips. I love this whole idea, and you pulled it off nicely. One might even say it's Absolutely Fabulous...
I was just going to sleep and somehow making a telephone booth to decorate my room was the thing that crossed my mind ! 😀 . I love it since I was a kind 😆 So glad that I came across your channel ! I see a huge passion in the way u made this one ! I love how much u care about small details 🙈! Great work .!! 👏👏👌👍
+Steve Carmichael There there now my good man! You have astutely hit upon the essence of my indiscreet inference. By Joe I think you've got it old man. Now if you will so kind as to pass me the onion gravy!
Excellent project, Steve. Well done. These traditional telephone boxes are becoming scarce nowadays here in the UK. Maybe you should make a full size one!
Another "Spot On" video, Steve (as always). I think you should have a monthly video on "things you can make with a single 2 x 4. I think it would be a hit!
Lovely project and a great video. Thanks Steve! Oh, and so refreshing to watch a video from America that I don't have to have a calculator in standby for when working out the measurements! Hehe 😜
That's cool, I would love to build one and put an actual old style wall hanging phone in it just for a laugh. I think I would have done the signs in Perspex so they illuminate a bit better but with studio lighting it probably doesn't do it justice. That was really neat Steve, great project. You need to do the matching blue Dr Who/Police box now!
Steve. So much fun watching these videos. You creativity, as well as your practicality, make these videos such a joy to watch. I have to call over whoever is within earshot to share the surprises in your videos. Love the concealment of the sweets.
Ha ha! The chocolate was still in there. lol It was kind of sealed from the paint. I had to let it dry though to get to the chocolate, so that was poor planning.
hi Steve I'm a massive fan. your energy and skill is so inspiring. I run a men's group and we all make your project, not as well as you yet. so massive thanks from Country Roscommon Republic of Ireland.
Hello in Ireland! I would love to visit there someday. Tell everyone in the group that I said hello and to have a pint for me! :) Thanks for watching my videos and send me some pictures sometime - thecarmichaelworkshop@gmail.com
Awesome work and thanks for the free templates! About to jump in my shop now and see if I can't get the same results from some common board I have laying around.
Nice work on the phone box. Nice to see someone making a good old fashioned phone box. We don't see to many of these these days. The councils took 99% of them away.
+Steve Carmichael yeah they are really rare indeed m8. l have to travel 100 odd miles to where I know I can see one( and that one does not even work lolol. Have a nice day Steve and best wishes for you and your family.
Hi Steve, I picked up on all your UK references there! What a talented designer you are! I do miss seeing as many of the old phone boxes around, I even saw one turned into an AQUARIUM! recently. You cannot beat Cadbury's chocolate, even if the recipe has changed recently.....and it is now owned by an American company! Kind Regards Steve. N.
Hi Steve. Just to clarify : a police box was a kiosk or booth (lol) , very similar to the red telephone box, painted dark blue, which contained a telephone that was a direct line to the local police station, and members of the public were allowed to use it, as well as police officers . Dr Who's TARDIS was based on a 1960s design of police box. Hope that helps.
Very nicely done Steve - you are one of the most creative people on RUclips. I think this project has to go on my To Do List - think my son would love it Scott
Thanks Deb! It would be cool to have a full size one, but not sure what to do with it. I've seen people make a closet door look like the red phone booth, which is a neat idea.
That is so cool Steve, perhaps you might make one for your chocolates etc with a lock on it. I know its the same in our house Steve but with us it is the Grandkids.
This is so cool! and can I say, its great to hear you talking in metric measurements! Such a relief! America is the only country that still use imperial measurements but every video on youtube is in dam inches!
Awesome!!! I want to do a Tardis, I will try it :D It is the second video I see of you doing stuff and you rock, always with a smile, really really cool to see that. A big thank you for your time and well... CHEERS!!
Steve it's great you're keeping the great British phone box alive, as there aren't many about on the streets of the U K now, most are either scrapped or put into people's gardens for decoration. Being British, this warms my heart. Great job Steve!
Thank you Mark! My wife is over there in the Southend Essex area visiting relatives.
Nice, like it. Looks really authentic. I miss these phone boxes they are a rare sight now.
Thanks Steven! Yeah, that's what I hear. My wife was just there visiting relatives and sent me a picture of one.
What a great idea!! Our local woodworking club has a yearly contest using one standard 2 x 4...never seen an idea like this come out of their contest...very unique indeed! Great job and project.

Great! Having a phone inside is a brilliant touch!
Steve you're unbelievable! You are truly the MacGyver of 2X4s.
Thanks, that's awesome! lol
Great project. With the flashing lights it will make a great garden Tardis!!
I was just going to sleep and somehow making a telephone booth to decorate my room was the thing that crossed my mind ! 😀 . I love it since I was a kind 😆

Great job on the scroll saw, looked CNC cut.
Great job, loved the British slang with southern accent.
Thanks DJ. My mother in law will be proud. lol
Hey Steve the "camouflage" on the candy was a nice touch. I got a kick out of it. Nice build!
Thanks Mitch! It was there so I painted it. lol
Great video Steve. The "hidden" candy was hilarious haha. And I really enjoy watching your videos, they're always so pleasant to watch.
I have been watching your videos for 3 years now and I have to say you always kill the 2x4 contest. Very cool!
Thanks David! I have a lot of fun doing those.
Great vid Steve I remember these when I was younger not many left now.
Awesome Michael. I didn't know the TARDIS came in any other color than Blue . As always, very inventive and unique.
I say there. Sir! A simply marvelous piece of ponderance and execution of skills. Yes, a real bang up job. What!
Hi Mac! Thanks! Did you say bangers and mash?
+Steve Carmichael There there now my good man! You have astutely hit upon the essence of my indiscreet inference. By Joe I think you've got it old man. Now if you will so kind as to pass me the onion gravy!
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me Steve! You should seriously consider doing a book of your designs and projects!! Cheerio 🍻
Hey Mark! Thanks! Hope you and the Mrs. are doing well!
Excellent project, Steve. Well done. These traditional telephone boxes are becoming scarce nowadays here in the UK. Maybe you should make a full size one!
I love how smiley you are! You're a joy to watch!
I could watch your videos all day. Excellent work, my friend.
LOL this is greatness! I love the charger part!
Thanks Mike! I was going to try to figure out how to make the lamp come on when the charger plugged in, but it will be a lamp mainly anyway.
Lovely job there mate! That's a great piece of kit you have there Bob's your uncle and cheerio!
Awesome project Steve. Dr. Who fans will be all over it with some modifications, lol.
Hi Steve, A great piece of work, it certainly looks like a British Phone Box. Keep em coming. Love it.
very cool. still rocking on the 2x4 projects!
Another "Spot On" video, Steve (as always). I think you should have a monthly video on "things you can make with a single 2 x 4. I think it would be a hit!
I like that idea. I could do different board sizes. lol Thanks!
Bloody good show, Chap!
Great project! Your attention to details is truly amazing....... Steve

Thank you Richard! Glad you like the videos. I hope that whoever you call over doesn't think you're crazy. lol
Steve! That was just great. What a fun project. And a good idea for a 2X4 build.
Really sweet project Steve!! I will remember to ask the home center if they stock any mm sized 2 by 4s. That was beyond funny!!
Thanks Nicholas! 2438 mm sounds a lot longer than 8 feet. lol
You're always so happy and smiley. Brilliant job man. From one of your British Subscribers.
Always a pleasure Steve. This was a fun one!
Thanks Michael!
Nice project Steve. Always enjoy your energy, enthusiasm and creativity.
It's fascinating what can be made out of a single piece of wood in the right hands. I hope you ate that good chocolate before spray painting.
Ha ha! The chocolate was still in there. lol It was kind of sealed from the paint. I had to let it dry though to get to the chocolate, so that was poor planning.
Now that is one cool phone charger and a great build. A+ video Steve.
God Bless my friend.
Thanks Frank!
absolutely brilliant from England it looks like the real thing, well done
Thanks!
Really well done, Steve. Glad to hear your new job is going well.
Thanks Steve!
looks great Steve. Nice use of a 2x4.
Excellent miniature ! Bravo Steve
Awesome, I'll have to build my wife one only paint it Tardis Blue.
why would someone dislike this? super fun.
thanks steve.
Hmm, don't know. Glad the overwhelming majority hit LIke though. I suppose a dislike is still good for "video activity".
That's came out Awesome!!! Great project! I see your enjoying the scroll saw
Great job Steve!!!! Greetings from Brazil!!!!
I love your 2x4 projects! Always super creative! And this one was a crackup. Good stuff, Steve!
Thanks! I had a good time making this one, except it was hot and the chocolate melted. lol
Ok, great job, and yes, the little British-isms (sweets, pinch, chuffed, etc) were a very nice touch :-)
Thank you Rudyard! Your Jungle Book is pretty cool too!
Steve Carmichael
Oh that little thing?... ;-)

Nice work on the phone box. Nice to see someone making a good old fashioned phone box. We don't see to many of these these days. The councils took 99% of them away.
Thanks Thomas! Yeah, I heard they were getting rare. My wife is visiting there now and sent me a pic of one. lol
+Steve Carmichael yeah they are really rare indeed m8. l have to travel 100 odd miles to where I know I can see one( and that one does not even work lolol. Have a nice day Steve and best wishes for you and your family.
definitely one of my favorite videos of yours and I love that you're enjoying yourself.
GOD I wish I knew more people as jolly as you are!
Thanks!
Very natural and beautiful work. Like!
Loved it Steve! Also thought it was cool how you switched everything to metric for a British phone booth!
Thanks Keith! Those numbers were hard to memorize. lol
Excellent... great job my friend... brings back memories...
cheers...
Amazing! My six year old wants one now... Thanks 😉
That would make a great gift!
Hi Steve,
I'm English and love this project! It looks just like the real thing :-)
Nice one mate!
Nathan
(from across the pond) :-)
Hey Nathan! Thanks! I released this video the day my wife flew over there. She's there now and sent me a pic of a real one. :)

Thank you Chase!
Very cool, nice touch with the phone charger

Very clever Steve. I like it. You should do well in the contest!
Thank you very much CC!
After eights and cadbury's chocolate, excellent selection!! Great project steve :)
Thanks! I like those, but Flakes are my favorite!
Hey Neil! Thanks! Yep, the Cadbury is different here but still tastes good to me. The aquarium sounds cool!
Steve, you channel is awesome. I love all your projects and exuberation for wood working. Great phone booth!!!
Hi Steve. Just to clarify : a police box was a kiosk or booth (lol) , very similar to the red telephone box, painted dark blue, which contained a telephone that was a direct line to the local police station, and members of the public were allowed to use it, as well as police officers . Thanks Alan! I didn't know it was a real thing at one time. hmmm
sterling job on the dog and bone booth!
Very nicely done Steve - you are one of the most creative people on RUclips. I think this project has to go on my To Do List - think my son would love it Scott
Thank you very much! It would be much easier to make if you are not limited to a 2x4. The template is in my website article.
Hi Steve from Australia, love your projects very creative.
Hey Les! Thanks for watching from Australia! I'd love to visit there some day. Do you watch Jord's Woodshop? He's a cool dude down there.
Amazing idea Steve. Kudos from Trev North London UK
Thanks Trev! My wife's family is from Leigh On Sea.
Steve, YOU do realize that practically makes us family too. LOL Kindest regards to your better half. x
That is awesome Steve! So darn creative as always. I also liked your method of doing the bevels on the top on your table saw. Thanks!
Thanks, yeah, I was going to try to make it arched but wasn't sure how to do it just right.
I love how you "hid" the candy!
Only problem was I had to wait for it to dry before I could get back into it. lol
Great work and very nice results, Steve.
love it. wish I had space for something like this in my house.
Thanks Deb! It would be cool to have a full size one, but not sure what to do with it. I've seen people make a closet door look like the red phone booth, which is a neat idea.
This was a smashing success!
That is so cool Steve, perhaps you might make one for your chocolates etc with a lock on it.
I know its the same in our house Steve but with us it is the Grandkids.
Sweet project Steve. Thanks
Awesome Steve, you are one of the most creative RUclipsrs!
Thank you Matt! I appreciate the compliment, especially since there are so many other channels out there.

Great job Steve, as always!
Really really great Steve. I always look forward to your videos
That looks so cool, what a great idea!
This is great! I love the small details!!!
This is so cool! and can I say, its great to hear you talking in metric measurements! Such a relief! America is the only country that still use imperial measurements but every video on youtube is in dam inches!
6 feet is easier than 2396 mills
Cool project. I call you the happy woodworker. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Thomas! Will do!
Amazing, as always, Steve!
Thanks!!! This was a fun one. Always a challenge working with 2x4 limitations.
Steve Carmichael You do amazing things with just a single 2x4 though.
That looks great Steve, it reminds me of mine which I left in Mexico.
Andrea Arzensek why did u leave it just take it
Cassandra Wagoner Because mine is 8ft tall and 250lbs :)
Crazy cool project Steve!
Awesome!!! I want to do a Tardis, I will try it :D It is the second video I see of you doing stuff and you rock, always with a smile, really really cool to see that. A big thank you for your time and well... CHEERS!!
