Jeez why do these predators do these things. If they want to abuse, molest, repeatedly rape children all they need to do is the following: 1) move to southern AZ. 2) get a woman pregnant, however many times he wants children to use, abuse and profit from 3) lie about the children's mother. Any big crazy lies he tells will be believed as long as he tells those lies behind the mothers back for years, which still works because the kids can be used and abused best after they're out of messy diapers. 4) tell lies falsely accusing the children's mother to make her look crazy and dangerous making sure to lie and get her committed at least once. Whether it ends up dismissed because he lied is irrelevant as he can continue using it forever regardless. 5) take the kids away from the mother. Then he can batter, molest, rape children all he wants and force the innocent mother to pay for supervised visitation forever and pay h child support money -- so he can abuse and get paid. I'm literally dead serious. Predators pass this info along to all others you know.. there is no need at all to abduct any child for this purpose. There's nothing in the world worse than losing a child, it's a life-changing experience. I lost my daughter years ago, when she was eight years old, and I miss her to this day. I still can't look at photos of her, without tearing up. I hope this little girl's mother finds peace & I hope the monster that took away her little girl is haunted by her for the rest of his life, until he's executed.

Tragedy… as a father, I can only shudder at the thought of having to live a reality like this. Empathy over sympathy… one my brothers was murdered when he was 16 and another killed by a drunk driver at 31, when I was a junior in high school. It destroyed my parents and family.. I wish her parents a clear path to peace, serenity and Justice.
Its awful when someone you know dies but when they're murdered is another thing completely. My friend and her parents were murdered back in 2012 her 1 yr old son was left alive but that tragedy lives on. I'm so sorry to hear about your brothers. I can't wait for a better future without death.

This is heartbreaking. My best friend was abducted at age 5 by a “family friend” who told her he was taking her to the store. He drugged her, raped her, beat her and threw her body away in the dumpster. There is a pain and dullness that never goes away thinking about how helpless she was. I feel for this family and my deepest condolences are with them, nothing gives anyone the right to take someone’s life and especially these little babies. Rest in power little beauty 💜

This story is one of those stories that punches your soul. It really angers me that another innocent child had to have this happen. I can't even imagine what the family is going though. The monster was caught, I pray that there were no other victims at the hands of this gross thing, can't even call him a person. Hopefully justice is served with heavy punishment, and I pray strength for the family.

I work for FedEx and this sickens me. I’m a father of a 9 year old girl & my biggest fear is coming home to find she’s not there. I saw a young child recently at the pool with his dad and it looked like he got into a fight with a wood chipper. I asked point blank to the son and father, what happened. Looks like he fought a Kodiak bear. I see why you’re careful and I agree with your take. I wouldn’t approach a child who’s alone though but I will make sure I speak with his parents or ask for some help. Get witnesses.

He's going to be in a single cell, protective custody for life. Wouldn't be surprised if he hung himself soon. Like the other guy said though, that wont really change anything at the end of the day. However many man do not care, and will continue to perform such acts as was done to this little girl. Nothing will change because the men who make the laws and represent us tend to have a proclivity for such activity as well. If the girl was still alive, he would only be facing a couple of years in prison. No one actually cares about the girl except for her family or friends maybe. The sheriff's announcement was a reflection of how many people feel. The emotions came through within the pausing of the statement. I'm at a loss of words and this hits home. Can't imagine what Athena went through in her last day, and quite honestly, I pray her soul was uplifted by our loving merciful heavenly father. Condolences to the family.

Strange how it was a FedEx guy. I live in Central Massachusetts and maybe 5 years ago a FedEx guy raped and murdered a young pretty college girl who was out for a run on a country road. Then he tried to burn her body. He was also in his 30's and had a young wife and baby. I worked as a mail carrier for 30 years and it's sad you just can't trust anyone today. The step mom was said to have argued with the girl as soon as she got off her bus. Hoping they investigate the step mom. Arguing as soon as she got off the bus indicates she had a beef waiting to occur. If she would have acted like an adult and ensured Athena was safe during delivery the girl could still be alive.
