At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the shawl, but as you were talking about the various sections, and started handling it and moving it around, it started changing for me. When it was stretched out all I saw were various shaped sections, but when you wrapped it around your shoulders, that's when the magic happened and the beauty of your shawl really popped. The various stitch patterns, textures, and colors worked perfectly together, and I think the high contrast between the two greens on the border is striking. You've got a winner there.
Dear Anastasia! Thanks for the lovely video - it was a pleasure to watch, as always! I couldn't agree more on your thoughts about shawlography! You know, I'm also very happy with my FO except for the border. I wish he had 2 options, I would have gone for something like chevron, that I've seen some people did - it looks so much better! But I do love your colours and I think they look wonderful on you! I also think that you should keep the Bear hat :) You might need it some day in the future. I knitted some baby blankets way before I got married and treasured them until the day came and they got used by my kids. If you really like that hat, just keep it ;) I'm also going to enter my socks for the KAL cause I did free my needles :) Hope you are doing well and looking forward to more episodes! i'm off to watch your podcast recommendation, thanks for the tip! Greetings from New Zealand, Marina
Dear Marina, thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Thank you, yes the border is not my favourite part but now that I've worn it I like it a bit better... I hope you're well xx Big hugs to you xxx
I just think your shawlography shawl is beautiful! I see what you mean about the stripy border, but if you look at it in the wider context of the whole shawl it is just perfect and once wrapped around yourself it is stunning. Ok, I need to join Stephen West MKAL next year! Thanks for another excellent knitalong…who hasn’t got something to complete?! Looking forward to your next love note in those gorgeous yarns. xxx
That is really kind of you to say! Thank you Danielle. I think the colours choices really change the pattern completely, I have seen so many different and beautiful versions...
Your Shawlography is beautiful. When you wear it, the border blends in well with the rest of it, not as noticeable as when it’s stretched out. The sweater you are making your partner, is stunning! Can’t wait to see it finished. Bravo! 🧶🤗
Loved your Podcast and to See your wips. I am not a huge fan of the Stephen West shawls, they are a bit much for me. But I love how yours turned out. I actually really like the border! And I am obsessed with your maritime sweater 😍 I hope everything works out there :) will you consider writing up a pattern for it? :)
Your Shawlography turned out just beautifully and it suits you so so well!! I so understand what you mean about the last section, but the stripes really look amazing in your colours 😍 I'm excited to see what you make with the rest of the yarn from the project. Your Maritime Sweater is just also coming along gorgeously as well. 💕
I adore your shawlography Anastasia, it matches your skin tone so perfectly and is just so good in those colours! I love your knitalong and will be joining in for sure now that shawlography is finished, though I have just started a love note so the wips are still not seeing much love!
I think your shawlography looks gorgeous on you! I felt similarly to you about the border, I liked some of the variations I saw others do but I just pushed through it as written because I wasn’t up to improvising something else. Thanks for taking the time to talk about your knitting on RUclips, I enjoy watching very much.
I was so excited when I saw you published a new episode so soon after the last one! 😃 That Bearly Bonnet is so cute! Looks like it doesn’t use much yarn either. I might try to make some out of scraps to give away as presents. 😊😊
Your Shawlography is beautiful! Very autumnal. I posted mine on my channel a few days ago. I also had a lot left over, but I used mostly stash yarn, so it was okay.
I just love your Shawlography, it's one of the nicest ones I've seen. A lot of people were not keen on the stripes - I think they're fabulous. As an observer. I didn't knit the thing or have to weave in all those ends. I love how the stripes are directional in a different direction than other sections in the shawl. Anyway it looks great on you:)
Thank you so much, that's really kind of you to say! Oh yes, it's completely personal if you like it or not and to be honest I actually started to like it once I put it on...
Your S.West shawl is very nice and I like the color’s “palette 🎨 “ 😍! For the Bearly Bonnet ,you want to keep it ? For sure you still have a Teddy Bear 🧸,just put it on his head !🤣
Your Shawlography is one of the most lovely I’ve seen. Many people are disappointed in the border, but when I saw it wrapped around you, the border didn’t seem as pronounced.
I just finished a bunch of WIPs so I have nothing for this KAL. I just cast on for a new jumper though. My mum was always a project knitter who bought yarn for a specific pattern, so I think I learnt good habits from her. But I do find it handy to have a hat or sock or something for in between the big projects as that process of actually casting on can take a while I find.
I love the colours of your Shawlography. I chose the colours I wear most too, but don’t like how it came together. I actually have put it aside and not done Clue 4, as I I am thinking of of scrapping it. I enjoyed knitting all the different sections (except the wedges that hurt my hands to do) and had to redo the brioche several times as I could not figure out how to pick up dropped stitches, but loved how the brioche felt and looked. I too expected it to be bigger and like you, I have more than half the recommended amount of yarn left. I have to say, for my first ever, much anticipated Stephen West MKAL, I am rather disappointed. I am going to start Joji Locatelli’s new shawl and hope I like it better. The baby hat is adorable. I look forward to seeing your new LoveNote. I am making a fluffy alpaca mohair cardi for my granddaughter’s 13th birthday. It is knitting up fast and is so soft. I hope she likes it!
Your Shawlography is lovely, and personally I rather like the border.
I love the colors you picked for the shawl!
Thank you Nora! :)

Thank you so much for your kind words! Ohh I'm still not sure about writing the pattern for this one... I might consider doing that in the future :)
Your finished shawl looks amazing and great job finishing it so quickly! I love the colours of your new shawl as well.

Penguono is not a real word anyway, lol. Your shawlography looks wonderful. I’m greatly enjoying knitting it.
Hahaha thank you!! I'll never get that right anyways :)

Hahaha I'll be honest, I don't think I own a teddy bear 🤣 But I might stick it on a ball of yarn 🤣
Your Shawlography is one of the most lovely I’ve seen. Many people are disappointed in the border, but when I saw it wrapped around you, the border didn’t seem as pronounced.

That's such a good habit! I'm trying to get better with it... Yes, small projects for in-between are great!
So many people are not fans of the border, myself included 🤷🏻♀️🤗
Hahaha I know! I loved seeing the variations that others have come up with!

@@freeyoursheep Shawlography is still in the naughty corner-lol- I will revisit it after I do some fun New Years, no pressure knits.
