Love the petrified wood!
Me too!
I can't believe how many agates you are finding!
Me neither!
What an amazing hunt! Mid February rock hunt on the Yellowstone. What a wonderful time and beautiful agates! That jasper round was gorgeous! So many great finds! Thanks Kate!❤
It really was a good one. :)
Loved the kitty chirp at the end and then they drink from the water 😂❤️ what beautiful rocks you were able to find. Dendrites are always my favorite inclusion in agates.
Glad you enjoyed them!
Would be an adventure of a life time to hunt rocks on that river just one time.
First rock was a picture stones with the dendritic features how beautiful, thanks kate.🇬🇧🐕🐶😻
Thanks!
Nice finds ❤
Keep rugged up and get well!.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your hunt. I live the Yellowstone too.
Jennifer, I know! :)
Nice to see you out in February. One thing about Winter hunting, is the fairly low sun angle, so you can catch the glow easier. Hope you feel better real soon.
True story! Thanks for coming along. :)
Lucky you getting out there in February!!
Nice finds! That first agate was amazing!
Hi I’m looking forward to the nice weather. Rock on. Praying I could visit yellow stone this year🙏🏽
It is a thing devoutly to be wished!
Thanks for sharing! Cheers from an East Coast, Canadian rockhound.
Thanks for watching!
Watching the rerun now ! ❤
:) Enjoy!
You had a nice trip and you did find a lot even it is winter. NICE. Thak you!!
Yep, I"m so glad!
Beautiful hunt❤
Thank you 😁
I'm with you, prefer to be outside. Even if not feeling great. Definitely worth the effort. Lots of good stuff.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing another great time on the river! I am my happiest when I'm on the rivers with my loving wife hunting rocks no matter the weather! We have to get out there and try our hands at finding some of those great looking pet wood pieces & agates! Thanks Katy!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :)
Hay Katie did take the pink rock home. I thought of it as a cool rock.
I could not agree more with you Kate. Rather be outside even if it’s cold.
:)
Thanks
You're welcome!
You overlooked one I would love to add to my collection. At 3:41-3:42, it's up at the edge of the ice shelf, is round, with a perfect, grey, crescent moon and star! Go back! 😁
Ha, that was just water marking the mud - but it would be cool!
I enjoyed the contrast from the find on the beach to viewing it close up in your studio!
The music was pleasant.
❤😊
Thanks!
I live in Scotland…. And I can find agates on the beach they’re very beautiful, but also very tiny here always less than an 1” size, but beautifully banded. But it’s so amazing to see these large agates.
Agates are precious, no matter what this size is!
I love being close to water also
It's soothing.
Your stones are beautiful. I hope sometime to make it out to the Yellowstone and be able to find a few of my own. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching!
Cool finds. I need all the rocks you didn't pick up for my driveway and couldn't find any today , irk
Ha! Lots of rocks left!
I've always loved, but have no knowledge of which rocks are which. You're educating me. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you!
Nice finds
:) Thanks.
@@KatyDidRocks your welcome
Beautiful stones.
Thank you!
wow the agates!❤
It was a good one!
Nice day to go out and find goodies. Hope you feel better soon
I can't take the cold like I use to. Some day I may go to the yellowstone in Montana!
It honestly wasn't all that cold - just windy!
Hi there, I just watched the re run. Missed the original time because I was outside in the mist and wind pruning kinikanik. No place like outside! 🤗🥰. Thanks for the video.
Hey, Beryl! Glad you are doing ok. Gotta look up kinikanik.
Nice agate!
Thanks!
Sure digging these videos katydid. Can't wait till you come visit. What do you think about going to find mammoth tooth?
OMG, I can't EVEN! That would be awesome. Theo might cr#p his pants at the opportunity. :)
at 2:10, in the upper right, is that a stromatolite? or some more petrified wood? looks very finely banded.
Man o man I would love to be able to find agates like that. Being outside is great. You are lucky to have a place like that. Ohio has nothing. It stinks.
I feel very lucky indeed.
Thanks Katy I enjoy coming along for the ride every time. Get well ❤️🩹
Thanks so much!
I hope you feel better. Nice hunt. I have a date with Capt. Eddie on Aug.13, with my daughter and granddaughter.
I love the Godzilla movie comment. I never understood why he picked on the Japanese!
Thanks
SS, you crazy woman, you should just come out with me and Jim! We certainly owe you a good time. :D
Tell us, what are dendrites? 😁 "Dendrites are extensions from the cell bodies of neurons that receive information from other cells. They look like tree branches and branch out as they move towards their tips. Dendrites also have leaf-like structures called spines."
Dendrites in rocks are tree-like structures within the rock. Montana agates are famous for them. :)
Hello, Katee did
Darn missed the rest of the live. Had to pick up my dog from the vet. He ran by the trailer hitch and knocked a hole in his head. Thank goodness the hole is in the sinus cavity and not the skull itself
Sure hope the doggy is ok!
@@KatyDidRocks he will be, he's a tough little guy! I'm sure glad we didn't have to put him down!!! He's super lucky he carved a hole in his sinus cavity and not the brain box!!! Thank you for your concern!! I know you are a dog lover too!
6:28 !!!!
We are planning a trip this summer. Any recommendations as far as areas to look/stay?
Hey there! The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks has a great downloadable guide to the fishing accesses along the Yellowstone, which often have rocks to find. I also have published a book about the same accesses: www.etsy.com/listing/1089523180
@@KatyDidRocks just bought your book, thanks!!
What's the difference between banded jasper and banded chert?
Mostly just the name. :D I tend to call earthtones chert and colors jasper, but I think I wasn't consistent here.
What equipment do you use for the water spray?
Hi! It's a battery-powered squirt bottle - there should be a link in the description to the bottle on Amazon.,
KatyDid Rocks - Let me know if you got the email about Salem Mechanics. My phone says it was sent but it didn't make the sound that lets you know it was sent. Thanks!
I got it - thanks!
Will you tumble the agates?
Maybe some of them!
