On another channel, they only made 500 of the new, Hello Kitty pink guitars. I believe it. I'm only two weeks late to buy, and yet i had to pay 200 dollars over suggested retail price ($500.00). I had to have it. I really don't want to wait for Hello Kitty's next anniversary for the chance to buy this new. Buying a collectors item late in the game never pays. The item appreciates and who wants to buy one used at an inflated price.
I just got one. Very impressed. The quality on these is very good, easily a gigable guitar. These are more on par witht the Classic Vibe Series. Pickup sounds very good here, mine sounds a little trebly. Fretwork was top notch on mine, dare I say better them my American Strats. If you are on the fence about the price, it is a much better guitar and I would say that it is worthy of the $499 price tag.
I remember Squire offed a Bad Bats Maru version of this same guitar when the original runs of this were out in the mid 2000's. It was black with the Bad Bats Maru character as the pickguard.

I've had one of the original musicians friend $99 pink ones for at least 15 years, the pickup I replaced cost more than the guitar. it has a great neck after I finished the fret work. one of my favorites. I have guitars worth 10x more that I play less
I got one. The build quality is fantastic. Great neck and fretwork. A solid guitar build wise. The bad... Terrible setup out of the box, and a muddy ceramic pickup. I set mine up the night I got it with skinny top heavy bottom strings and intonated it to drop B. Just waiting for my DiMarzio from Reverb, then it will be a beast. Come at me bros!
I could see Kirk hammett playing some of the solo and rythm parts from and justice album live on stage with one of these 😅 ... steel panthers guitarists live with one in Vagas 😅

@ the fender website says they are limited edition. Pink ones are already sold out on there, they only have web exclusive white ones left. They had fuzzes too but they are gone.

My point is they will sell, then they will go for more in the secondary market, till they release their new improved version of them, which will make these ones not so appealing anymore. Same happened with the Tom Delonge Strats, Joe Bonamasa, etc.

I have one form 2006. I picked it up used in 2007 for $100. It currently has a Seymour Duncan Distortion in it and a pink speed knob that goes to 11.

I would replace the pickup with a Dimarzio X2N,then possibly a 22 fret neck and then give her the EVH Fransteinstrat stripe paint job.
