Girl…they be out here CRAZY quoting theses prices! I had to learn to do my own retwist cuz Chile….and she made it a point to tell u it included a wash…mam’ you gon’ twist my hair WITHOUT one? 😳 lol
Having locs is really a spiritual journey. A journey more about loving yourself. I am 8 months sisterlocked and was natural for 7 years. A lot of your advice is great advice for ppl transitioning to natural.
Thank you so much! And your right, locs is definitely a spiritual journey. I’m so happy to hear that your enjoying your sister locs, it makes my heart smile! ❤️
That’s so dope! I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about protective styles thinning our hair, but on the flip side I’m JUICED that your loving your micro locs! Please keep me updated on your journey, ok?
I really don't want to have locs, but I find really interesting the loc smithing, crocheting and maintenance part of it, also, my gf has locs and feeling interested in the things she's invested is a connection for both of us, and also, I'm a male with nose piercings and I know what it is people looking at you and telling you things like "you look like a bull" "you'd look so handsome without those things in your face" so I kinda feel it for her, I really want to learn the art of retwisting and maintaining locs as a way to support her, and who knows, maybe we could use our knowledge as a side hustle.
Any reason that one has decided to get locs is their own there is no “good” or “bad” reason for doing whatever style it is you wana do to your hair , even if one regrets it, its hair you can change it it grows its meant to be changed. And sometimes people may have one reason they started and completely change during the process. But Good video good opinions and experiences you’ve shared 👍🏽 I personally started my loc journey because im tired of buying fake hair and trying to figure out what style next i just wana kick back and let it grow out but im a stylist im sure these feelings are temporary. So i love them right now but i know ill comb them out once im back in the mood of wanting to do all kina things eith my hair again or if i wana try a style that i cant do with the locs.
I’m starting in my own way because i want to love myself and not base it only on my hair! But I’m definitely doing it my way and thanks to you I’m encouraged so far thank you!!
I really enjoy your videos! Thank you! GOOD GAWD‼️🎯 so I started after splitting from a 15 years marriage. Talk about fragile. I lasted 8 months. I felt ugly, I'm tall and really struggled with feeling feminine. I also struggled going and depending on getting my hair done at the shop. 🤑 I've since started again, all myself, I love the ease of management after 10+ years as a loose natural. Kinky 4cz hair 😅
I decided to get locs because i got tired of not being able to do my own hair and i was wearing afro puffs too but also because i barely had time to do my own hair cause of my babies. I just needed a hairstyle i could keep and be on the go of i have to work or take care of errands. So I'm five months loc'd in and i love it frfr. Made the best decision i could've made in my whole life.
That's amazing! I'm so glad to hear that you found a style that works perfectly for you and your lifestyle. Locs are such a beautiful, low-maintenance choice, especially when you're juggling so much with work and the little ones. It's great that you're loving the journey so far-five months in and already feeling like it's the best decision is such a win! 🙌🏾
Thank you…but let me tell you it’s been a long journey. I wasn’t this confident all my life. Me knowing God and having a solid loving partner is what truly helped w/ my confidence. This world will tear u down if you let it, but my goal for my channel to spread as much confidence as I can!
My hair texture has kept me from getting locs. So many ppl say don’t do this and that to my hair but I think locs are so beautiful and when I retired out the military I just knew I would loc up. 8 yrs later I’m still discouraged about getting them
Amazing video 💖‼️ I had my locs for a year now and loving more and more each day. Some days are rough and I want take them down but I go back to way I started them. On my spiritual journey 💞
I absolutely love that you are sticking it out with your loc journey! Of course some days are gonna be tough, but the fact that you have a “why” to remind yourself of your goal/ and the bigger picture is awesome! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Continue to show the would that black women are beautiful, versatile and resilient…just like our hair! 💕
Hi Queen, I just came across your channel and decided to subscribe! I'm in the middle sixty club 😊 I just celebrated my one year Loc Anniversary on 11-17-22. Having Loc's was a spiritual decision in addition to aging gracefully. Thanks for sharing this information. Wishing you 🕊️ 💚🕯️🌺 Namaste 🌺
Yes I do! I’m gonna post it in my next video, but at the beginning of my journey, I wasn’t as confident about my decision to loc, so I don’t have as many pics as I do now. Side note: IM SO HAPPY YOU STARTED YOUR LOC JOURNEY!! 🥳🥳🎊 please keep in touch so I can check in w/u and hear about your progress! ☺️
Great points and tips. And actually my confidence DID get stronger once i decided to loc my hair. Best. Decision. Ever.!!!
Very true confidence. Locs is about you for real!! And in so beautiful with my locs❤
I will say I have zerooooooi patience. It's not even in my vocabulary but these locs I started from bald head scratch and I love every moment of it
Yeees! I love to hear it! You’re confidence is on point and I love it! 🙌🏾
Yes, these prices are ridiculous. I was quoted $150 for a retwist and she specified that it included a wash...well, I would hope so! Goodbye🤣
