Tamerlane (Timur) thanks. It's definitely fun seeing people's reaction when you open it up and the unique 2.4 sound paired with a CVT transmission screams by them
Is this your personal car? ,if so you reliable is this 2014 model?, I am looking to buy a used one with 35k and debating..thanks let me know you thoughts ... P.S I look into complaints about the Cvt and starter having early failure...
Rob Whiff I bought my 2014 Accord sport with 19k miles, I'm about to hit 40k with no issues. I do have a video of me servicing the cvt transmission at 25k miles. I didn't want a cvt transmission but after I drove it, I loved it. With the k&n intake and normal driving habits I'm averaging between 29-34 mpg depending on a/c usage and highway driving. I can't think on many complaints about the car in general, if I was being picky I'd say the stereo could use better speakers but mechanically and cosmetically I love it. The 2.4 liter has plenty of power. Test drive one and and see what you think. I have no complaints
Awesome ,really appreciate the tips, Also have a prius for the wife is cvt but about 200k so I am very excited for this accord upgrade..cheers bro I am Subd now...
Rob Whiff Thanks! happy to help, the accord sport is a great family car while keeping a sporty look. Me, my wife and son loaded up and went to myrtle Beach for a week and everything we needed fit with room to spare and got 34.5 mpg fully loaded on the way there.
Wow that's great , the one I am looking into is the Lx and we have 7yr 10yr and a new born so hopefully this car can give me at least 7 years 75k no issues..
Rob Whiff I've put 3 carseats in the back when I kept my sisters daughters for the day, it's tight but will fit. Shop around and see the price difference between the LX and sport. You get a lot more with the sport without having to spend EX money. (nice wheels, black interior, fog lights, spoiler, dual exhaust, etc.) get what's right for you, but for a little more money the sport model has a lot to offer. it fits me perfectly.
Does your Honda Accord front brakes tend to run hot? I just got a 2017 manual and I notice that both front brakes are very hot after driving. IDK if it is normal in these cars. Will you please let me know? Thanks!
I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Under normal driving conditions in the summer you definitely can't touch the rotors after driving but nothing is smoking or turning colors from excessive heat. Are you expecting any discoloration or smoke when stopping?
michael cordell I work for a Volvo dealership and the only way we would void the warranty of a modification like this, is if it directly caused the failure. For example, if you install this intake and your transmission went out, the intake has nothing to do with the transmission and should not effect warranty. I would definitely check with your local dealer to confirm and see what they say just to be safe.
So if I installed this on my 2017 honda accord sport and when i go to the dealership and swap it out will they notice anything? As in will they know on the computer?
ERIC VO No they shouldn't be able to tell, it throws no check engine codes so it can't store any codes for them to see. I work for a dealership. Depending on the dealer, it won't void any warranty unless the failure is a direct result of the intake/installation. For example, they can't void warranty on a failed suspension part because of an intake on the engine. Just to be safe I'd call and speak with your local dealer to be sure. Thanks for watching!
PontiosEimai I was worth it in my opinion, I paid less than 200$ for the system and gained 3 mpg (if you keep your foot out of it). Well worth the investment over the life of the vehicle in my opinion
le ryan k&n filters are washable and reusable. K&n says they can go up to 50k miles before cleaning but I probably wouldn't run it that long. Just keep and eye on it and clean as needed. Life of the filter really depends on your area/environment etc. Hope this helps.
le ryan yes this style intake is fine in all weather conditions. You shouldn't have a problem unless the roads are flooded and over a foot high. Under normal weather conditions you will be just fine. The intake is short ram, and does not hang low in the fender/bumper like some styles.
@@cesarchavezalvarado5570 yes I still have the car and intake is still installed. Never given me an issue, just clean/recharge the k&n filter as needed
I just bought a 2014 Honda Accord sport, I would like to start working on the car as a hobby. I'm not very educated on it, what made you choose a short ram over a cold air intake? does an aftermarket intake put any more pressure on the engine? it's been a while,. are you happy with your decision? I like the sound and look, would you choose something different if you could go back? sorry for all the questions, just want to know all the facts before I do anything to the engine.
Hiram Asencio I chose the short ram because it's less of a risk of sucking trash or water since the long ram sits down inside the fender. The factory air box and air filters on most cars are very restrictive so the K&N intake provides the most air flow making the engine able to breath easier. I'm still very happy with my purchase, it has caused no problems and my fuel economy has improved around 2 mpg just as long as you're able to keep your foot out of it trying to hear the intake haha. Hope this helps your decision. Thanks for watching.
Hiram Asencio I've tried econ off, traction control off etc. If there is any power difference it's not enough to notice. Definitely still a good investment just for the extra fuel economy. I'm still happy with it.
The only horsepower you will gain from a CAI or Short Ram is about 3%-7% of your total horsepower. And the 7% is only if you also tune your engine to effectively use the intake (tunes cost a good bit, usually at least $1000 ), so getting the intake will only make your engine louder and give a very small amount of HP which you will not notice much on the Accord. I own a 2015 Accord LX-S
I had a regular drop in k&n and it gained a small mpg but the full k&n system gained more mpg, less restrictive air flow. It may gain some power but honestly it's not enough to make a significant difference in hp, Sounds good though.
@@Powertool1990 Thanks! My main concern is whether it brings any improvement in terms of HPs and gas pedal responsiveness. I have panel K&N and other than really tiny fuel consumption difference, there's practically no real benefit in compare to regular, exchangeable filters.
@@fedreserv6133 was it worth the price? I believe so, it gives a small increase is throttle response, nice sound and maybe the feel of more hp but I doubt it has any significant gains. But still worth the money over the life of the vehicle.
Did you happen to tweek the mass air flow sensor or harness in the process? That's the only thing I can think of that could potentially throw the engine light. Is it running OK?
Al Pimentel I paid 179$ on labor day from anythingautocom. It was 25‰ off on labor day sale and I got the K&N recharge kit free with purchase. Just filled up yesterday and I'm getting 33.4 mpg, I've gained 2-3 mpg, it's well worth the investment in my opinion. Anything auto has a 20% off deal on their website right now.
If it did boost any hp, it's hardly noticeable. Throttle response has improved slightly. The most surprising thing is I'm on my 2nd tank of gas after installing and I've increased 2 mpg. (from 29.5 to 31.4) I even double checked using my trip to see how accurate my cars system is, I was within .2 mpg accuracy. Which I think is pretty good. I was skeptical but I am very happy with purchase.
Sam Corona I've ran multiple tanks with and without and eco does make a difference from what I've found. But you definitely sacrifice power when eco is on.
That depends on which trim of the Accord you have. It's legal for my 2013 Accord V6 as seen here. Just give it some time. K&N are usually pretty good about adjusting their products to be legal (when or if reasonable). It was not until 2015 that the air intake became legal for my 2013 Accord. K&N even includes the CARB EO sticker and number for verification if a smog test station gives you issues. www.knfilters.com/search/applications.aspx?prod=69-1212TS
A few years later would you recommend this intake over the factory?
seems that the 6 speed is faster? throttle response is much better with intake
I install the kn intake but notice my gas pedal is hard to accelerate..
Bc u have to get a tune for any swapping of intakes
ASMR Egger yiu don’t have to get a tune…
So its the 69 -1213ts ?
It sounds pretty good with the k&n intake👍
Thanks! I'm definitely enjoying it, although I don't notice much difference in power, my fuel economy has increased almost 2 mpg
Why do people make a test with ECO mod on ? You know theres big dif.. between ECO mod on/off.
Tamerlane (Timur) I turned econ off at 11:05

K&N is more money but it's def high quality though. Even if I go with a diff brand I always make sure the filter is K&N
What mods could put this car to 200mph
Did you ever change the transmission fluid and spark plugs on this yourself or would you rather let the dealership deal with a that

No check engine light issues?
No lights or issues, just be sure your sensor is in the right direction and the harness is plugged in and secured.
You shouldn't be pulling like that on ECON mode. Your forcing the CVT trans n the engine. Econ mode isn't ment 2 taking off
