James After watching your and other sailors' videos I am overwhelmed by the power of RUclips. With some simple video equipment and Internet access, you can broadcast a video from anywhere in the world to every where in the world.
Brought back many good memories of the time I spent in NZ, but never went as far north as Bay of Islands, spent 5 months on South Island, just as beautiful, but this is a cruisers paradise, so many anchorages. Pity your friend visited in a storm, and while boat is engineless, hope you have engine solution soon.
So incredibly beautiful! I could smell the salt air and Imagin the dolphins right in front of me. Watching your entries melts away the stress of the day and always puts me in a great mood!
That beach at 19:20 you mention would make a really good camp site, I used to camp there back in the day with family. We would go fishing and diving for crayfish and scallops, then sit around and eat them on the beach with wine in the evening. Always had the entire beach / bay to ourselves. One of my favorite spots.
Always great when the captain makes jokes. Ive done the 'Cream Trip' many times as my mate is a skipper on many of these trips. The bird with red on top of head is called "Pukeko" thank you James.
I lived in Seattle for 30 years. However, I have to remind myself that the part of the world you're in is so remote -- located on the other side of the hemisphere. I definitely need to get down there and see for myself. Truly beautiful scenery you shared with us. Thank you.....
You- always find the Best Trails ! Everywhere you Look there is massive amounts of beauty there! Its no wonder so many movies are shot there. Cool to know that about your Mama. Well the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. I enjoyed the Rock & the Dolphins . Thank you so much.
Very glad I am hanging on to some sleeping bags. Eventually I will want to find one of those camping spots! Nice sights and sounds. Thanks for taking us along ❤️⛵️
You saw one of the problems with The BOI the anchorages are so many and so good that people visit and never leave, I have spent a lifetime exploring there and the Hauraki gulf after 60 yrs of it I am ready to start again.
When the Capt. asked "If any of you were wondering are we going through the hole", I thought of course you aren't. WOW, how awesomely shocked to see he did. They would never do that here in the states! Great video James. I have back tracked to the beginning and watched most of your videos. Keep on with the keepin' on!!
You just made a "Swiwi" very, very homesick! I'm Swedish but lived in NZ for short of a decade. I haven't been back back more than once and right now I'm dying to go! But, our wooden, lovely Freja (Silonian pilot cutter replica) needs a new caretaker before that is possible. Please, please make the most of your stay in this most precious part of the world!
Brilliantly superlative spot on earth. Excellent hosting. Great framing and just right amount of all grammatically correct commentary. Informative, interesting, gorgeous. You are da best. Thanks. Your girl must now be very sorry to have broken away if she ever views this one.
I enjoy watching you sail, not the vacation parts but I understand what's the point in sailing if you can't enjoy the places you sail to so just keep doing what you do. It's awesome!!!!
I was wondering how you knew about spotlighting jackrabbits and deer. Then you said you lived in New Mexico and it all came together. I’m from Texas and grew up doing that not for hunting just looking. Pretty cool to hear about a sailor from New Mexico. 👍
I was happy to see you and Gecko Captain team up for some adventurous fun. I follow both you guys. I'm not good at sailing but I love the ocean!!❤❤thanks so very much for sharing!!😎🌷
James I want to thank you for the view of you picking up a mooring ball alone with a position pole in a recent video. I am an older man and have been paying a young person to crew for me principally because I can't 😅moor by myself. I have found a position pole on Amazon and will be purchasing it so I can like you pick up the mooring ball by myself.😅
Hi James, thank you for taking this on this trip. Wow that is incredible taking that big boat through that hole in the rock. Thanks once again you always have a great videos Cliff from over here in Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island 🏝️
I think I watched another one of your favorite sailors ride a bike on that walking trail. Not sure its the same one. edit, well, no, I looked very closely at this area before, and saw the campsites, and I don't think this is where the bike riding took place. I thought it was unusual to have that campsite placed there. It was back when all of you were at Bay of Islands. Seemed like the trail , at least on the google map, went all the way to the Lighthouse.
James I use to visit my grandma and grandpa in New Mexico Taos New Mexico all my dads side was from there my grandpa was ww2 vet in France and is at Santa fe cemetery I really like New Mexico my grandparents house made out of adobe almost 3 ft walls it was really cool house….
Just finished Logs From the Good Ship Triteia and am about to start Six Nights on the Hook at Santa Cruz. If Sux Nights is as gripping as Logs from Tritiea was, I highly recommended any fan of the channel to get both!!
Enjoyed your channel! Just Subscribed.I’m trying to convince my wife that a circumnavigation is a great retirement project and went so far as to even start a little channel (@NavalGazingatCampDavid) to sell her on the life style….desperate times and all that. Lol. Thanks again for the great content. I have a whoooole new appreciation for the time and care it takes to create these episodes

Go a have a look in Whangaroa Harbour, just North of the Bay of Islands. And climb the Dukes Nose.
Yeah I did, it was awesome 👍🏻
You saw one of the problems with The BOI the anchorages are so many and so good that people visit and never leave, I have spent a lifetime exploring there and the Hauraki gulf after 60 yrs of it I am ready to start again.
Should have eaten lunch on top of that grassy hill looked so beautiful!

Roll on summer!

Hi James, all those islands altogether are like the Whitsundays up north Queensland, so hopefully you’ll get up there one day
I will be there next year 👍🏻 they are much warmer than NZ

Nice one James. The Bay of Islands is my back yard, I'm sure not complaining!🤣

You rock bro
Absolutely breathtaking. James I’m curious, did you explore any of the other side of NZ near Auckland and Christchurch etc?
Such a beautiful place! And who doesn't love dolphins?😀 You're blessed to be there and we're blessed for you to share it with us🙏
Terrific trip and great chuckle James!

Lucky I know if you run to the edge of a cliff the walk backwards towards you

Dude!
Thought you might have seen a hobbit village on that hike you took.
If you think the north island is beautiful , wait till you see the South Island, you will never want to leave...
The best way to greet a sheep is to say "Mint Sauce !" That gets them moving. Cheers.
Hey sailor James. Just a comment for the algorithm nonsense. Thanks for the upload
Another soul raised on Giligans’ Island, with an extra hour for inflation no doubt lol
Do u ever see big sharks or whales?
Hi i would be nice if you had a zoom in or a pic on the birds
