It’s funny you say that Mark about the gap in the pvc privacy gates, we have also had a few customers freak out about it. What are they Doing back there 😂
"Just go around the trees" that they promised to remove. "Hey, why is the fence crooked?!"
I’m a pm for a carpentry subcontractor that does high end homes, one of my installers overheard the homeowner say “if contractor make money, I didn’t do my job”, needless to say we are fighting a 15k back charge
We had customers that were a PITA as well as some of our own people. Great video. Let's hear more horror stories. And have a good dang day!
Our quotation terms - Owner to locate and provide location of all property/boundary bars -. Customer: "I'll show you where the property line is and where to install the corner post...........it's right where this oak tree is. My grandfather planted it 75 years ago right on the corner of the property."
Me: "Ma’am, are you sure? Aerial maps is showing your property line is approx. 15ft to the west"
"I'm hiring you, so you put the darn fence where I tell you to put it!"
Months later, neighbor calls and got a survey that fence is 15ft on his property. SMH.
You are so right about government jobs ! I'v seen a women on a navy base job NAVAC inspector tell the concrete guys not to spit in the concrete. She was a royal pain . And most of those folks are so power hungry. As always great video.
The customer is always right in the matter of taste.
The Standford what Experiment? I want to look it up. And BTW, that statement made you seem way smarter than anyone would think a fence builder could be. Hats off to you. I love it when stereotypes are busted up.
Stanford Prison Experiment www.simplypsychology.org/zimbardo.html
And thanks!
@@SWiFence This is how I make my FB people think I'm smart. I'll study this and then make a post about it and my crew will go...that Larry guy...he's smarter than we thought.
NMDOT, New Mexico DOT, 🤢🤮 says it all. Great stories.
One of my good buddy’s auger bit rolled off into a pond
There's an opportunity in the 1" gate gap problem. After market Gate Gap covers. Plastic, wood, or metal. Different colors. Solar LED lights embedded. Security cameras and microphones attached. Recyclable. Non-hazardous. Safe around pets.
We have had some one complain about the scratches on chainlink posts
🙄
I used to do tech support for end users and man some people are just the absolute worst!!! Made me never want to talk to people again. 🤣😭🤣😭
Thing about fences is they're no thing of beauty. They serve two purposes to keep something in and to keep things out. You can do the scallop or the weaving or the chain link but they're still just a fence.
I dunno. Hiding some of the muglies that live on the other side of that fence does make it a thing of "beauty".
Last year we had all of the above. I called it the year of the Karen. Needless to say My sniff out process is better than it has ever been.
Have you worked with FDOT yet? I haven't, but I've heard they are ok to work with.
We'll pass. 🙂
🤣
1 inch gate gaps, we get people all the time complaining about that too. SMH
Privacy fences are necessary for those who sun bathe in the back yard. 👙
Free Vitamin D baby!
I've never had an addictive personality....till you guys showed up on my radar. My wife says what has happened to you? You have never been a fanboy of any RUclips channel. Now we need marriage counseling.
Well... maybe pace yourself. 😆
@@SWiFence Good advice.! I'll try.
Dealing with a customer now, we get 90-95% done with project customer comes out I don't like that let's change that so I write up a change order at the agreed extra cost, we get done with that change.... customer decides they don't like that change, let's make another change, so another change order on agreed price plus the previous change order with the agreed price by both parties....now we're bleeding a week into another scheduled project, so we're on clean up I hand home owner the final bill........ you would have thought I handed them a declaration of war... I hear excuse after excuse my husband's a cop this is illegal my brother is an attorney you'll be hearing from him and so on and so on, this is my first lawsuit ever in this business
I hope your original contract was written or at least approved by an attorney. If so you should be in pretty good shape, especially with the signed change orders, amending the original contract. It’s a ‘PITA’ just the same.
@psidvicious all my contracts are made by my attorney, even my change orders
