as opposed to what, the other john wick movies. i don't know if you've notice but john wick is a very violent man.
Tomb Raider, Salt, Alien, Wander Woman, Resident Evil etc etc. Theres many great films with female leads without the need to gender swap every successful male character, gender swapping for diversity points makes for a terrible film.
It all comes down to how they play it out. Is it real for the universe they create? It might work, I am hopeful, but also worried.
And guess what, this shit had spread in video games as well. Have a look at MK1 sektor and cyrax :))
They didn't gender swap though, they just set a new movie in the same universe with a female lead, and if the quality of the film is anywhere near that of the John Wick ones, we'll have a dope movie on our hands that happens to have a female lead. I'm cool with that, honestly.

Honestly I agree, the first one was innovative. The second and third did expand the universe and can be considered decent blockbusters. Although I think the fourth movie was well made it was stale. I call it Rambo syndrome, how many times can you watch a superhuman killing machine mow people down before it gets boring. Only a really well written story can save the franchise at this point and unfortunately the writers aren't really capable of writing a story worth watching.
I respectfully disagree with the analysis. Each of the Wick movies stands on its own, although the 3rd one is a little weak in story. Together, they tell a comprehensive and compelling story. I'm glad that they stopped Wick's story when they did - it really had nowhere else to go.
There is only one John Wick and that's Keanu Reaves.

Ahh yes. No new original IPs just riding the coattails of the men franchises are built on. Ghostbusters (2016), The Next Karate Kid, and Oceans 8 to name a few. Then there will be a female James Bond, etc.
Interesting, it looks like this is supposed to be at the time Wick was helped to run away from New York, as they walk down the stairs, leading him out. So between Parabellum and the last one. Charon is still alive also, but it will be interesting to see how they will entangle these two together. I really hope it will be good, it has to be, and Ana De Armas might be just the perfect person to play her.
I just hope that they follow the guidelines of the Wick universe.

This is the one show I've been looking forward to for the past few years. Another John Wick universe, with Ana? Holy f this is a dream come true. Continental was fantastic as well on Prime. I can't get enough of this series!
So someone dies , someone close and vengeance unfolds . Basic story line , lot of people die (probably with a pencil or a book also ) , then you get a contract for three movies 😂 and we watch !
