Front lawn? Looks like a park. So proud of Oprah
IKR
This woman Oprah, is so so phenomenal!!!! God bless this air sign Aquarius Goddess!!!
Same damn thing I was thinking
her front lawn ?! Good lord
Iq IMB It’s like Hyde Park or something 😀
Right! I had to replay that part like “did she say front lawn”
Hahaha
Normally I would be thinking that it’s just a snotty rich woman but Oprah deserves it more than anyone else! Just this event shows how she is so thankful to the ppl who paved the path that brought her to the place she is now!!
@@blamband chitown
This is so beautiful and thoughtful of Oprah to do this. Especially since some of them have passed since then.
Kreative Holiness A lot of them have passed. Ruby Dee, Maya, Cloretta King, Edward Hawkins, many more! Timing made this historical not just a party but an iconic historic event
She honored these ladies in a way, that will never be forgotten!!!!! This should be in every African American, library for future generations to see how they can pay homage, to the people, who were most influential, in their lives!!
And i bet she flew every last guest in 1st class! Classy!! Like every detail of this was on point
No cell phones no social media ...damn well done
Tomatoes
I Have Watched This Over and Over but the Emotions that I Feel are Insurmountable Everytime, Thank You Oprah for Being So Thoughtful, Love These Legends and I LOVE YOU!!! Some Passed the Same Yr and Some Passed The Next Yr and Some We Are Still Losing Going Home To Be With Our GOD Even Today, But GOD Gave You The Insight To Honor Them Before Their Eternal Rest, Thank You For Being An Open Vessel To The Voice Of GOD!!!
RIP Dr. Maya Angelou and Ruby Dee :(((
HalleluYah! They are truly missed. So happy 2 c they were in Oprah's Legends honors. Wow.
This was simply beautiful. This took giving someone their flowers while they can smell them to a whole new level.
"Giving flowers to someone while they can smell them." What a great quote.
No matter who you invite somebody is going to be left out. Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Whoopi Goldberg. Maybe they declined and were busy. Kudos to Oporah for Celebrating and Honoring all of the Women
Maybe busy or didn't want to be around certain ppl or
Whitney and Aretha were invited, they couldn't make it
What about Beyoncé ??)
NADIA EDUARDO Destiny’s child was on tour then
oprah and whoopi were never friends.
I was a kid when this first aired on abc in awe! I still watch this special every few years for nostalgia and am astounded each time. But it hurts now even more knowing that so many of those iconic names are no longer with us. Oprah was ahead of her time for this one. The IMPACT!!! Creating such a historical moment in time by honoring all of those phenomenal women in one room. I really hope she considers doing this again. Even if it's every few years. We need this as a reminder to us and our younger generation about the power black women have had over the years in shifting the world.
I almost cried when I watched this. Its SO GOOD to see a sista like Oprah APPRECIATE and give props to other sistas from the past who paved the way for SO MANY others. You see so much self hatred and envy with black folks now days...it was very refreshing to see this. I love Oprah and all of the legends and youngins, who continue to represent black people with out being half naked as a video vixen or wear their pants sagging and being a thug. Thank you Oprah and god bless everyone in this video.
This is something I'm so glad I have opportunity see this. Its so emotional and all that respect she shows WOW
i love that she had those "i got stuff to do" cornrows in while shes being filmed
Absolutely!! Unapologetically black 🎉❤️
That's vacation / I'm busy hair lol
I love me some Oprah man. I know many women love her too, but as a black man, i've always admired her grace, professionalism and representation of not only black women but women PERIOD. I think her tribute to the legends was top notch 100% and was glad she had the opportunity to say THANK YOU for their contributions. I think we as a people (blacks) dont show the graditude of our ancestors by the way we carry ourselves sometimes. I hope somebody can do the same for Oprah she deserves it!
MARIAH CAREY!!!! :-)
Yessssss
Came here as soon as I heard the news of Tina Turners passing. My heart hurts. But I’m so so GLAD Oprah gave her, and so many other amazing Black Women, their flowers after a lifetime of work. Of carrying on the fight. Of opening doors so that women who look like me have, not just a seat at the table, but a VOICE.
Rest in Peace Ms. Tina Turner, we didn’t deserve you, but you always deserved it all and more ❤🕊️🥀
She should put this on DVD!
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful thing Oprah has ever done. 26 people gave this a thumbs down? What the hell is their problem?
Michael Wells they have big thumbs.
Michael Wells, they are jealous. I'm proud of what oprah did. I've watched it several times 💖🙏❤😇👸😍
They hating. Probably white
Michael Wells go watch Oprah Christmas Kindness.
I think this was the way to go appreciate people whilst they are alive and it was done with love and class ,Oprah thank you for doing this and may others follow
Rest in Peace to the ones we have lost who were honored while they were still here! Thanks to Oprah💞🦋🙏🏽
Simply EPIC!!!
I absolutely love this. I am in awe!
Tina Turner R.I.P. an Icon in my life to escape domestic violence. Which made me a stronger woman ❤❤❤❤
This was a wonderful way of honoring them.
I luv the way oprah walked out "hello darling this is fabulous" yes auntie mame was coming through to execute her plans for this legendary event
She call her house promiseland, she was inspired by Neverland when she interviewed Michael Jackson and she found Neverland such an enchanting place that when she got her first billion she built her house and put a fountain as the one in Neverland but much smaller, Neverland is beautiful.
Shiny Snowball she actually bought that house after going past it and stopped and asked if the owners would sell it. She bought it for $50 million dollars.
Yes Oprah loved time with Michael. I never modelled her estate on Neverland, however!
This was so beautiful that oprah did them the pleasure of being in each other company at the same time. She showed the younger women how to celebrate each other without the jealousy factor. Just beautiful I cried just watching this I could feel the love. Thank you ms winfrey job well done ✅
its sooo sweet, to see someon appreciate others like that.
This is AHMAZZING!!! Super inspired by all of it. Thank you Oprah!
When your front lawn is 2 football fields long 👀#oprahMoney
I see her in a good light when did her believes changed to believe in a different kind of God. This is the Oprah I remember.
June 3rd, 2023, we've just lost our Tina Turner. So many of them have left us. May they all rest in paradise 🙏🏽 ❤
yes true but by carrying them and they're music it will make them a proud mary haha
this is so soul saving beyond words thank you for posting 😘 johanna
Oprah I loved this! Girl u did this!!!! I watches it over and over again. It's so beautiful. I love seeing all the older women. Everything and everyone was beautiful but the legends well deserved this beautiful honor. Thank you 4 acknowledging so many of our beautiful legends while they were still here.
It's actually Oprah Winfrey's Legend Ball and these group of videos are some of the most inspiring videos/tv shows that I've ever seen. I'm thankful for Oprah and all of the LEGENDS that she celebrated. Watching her show makes me want to be a better, more productive person.
I was so touched by ALL who attended. I was crying like a baby. I loved the Sunday service. It gave me the chills, I couldn't contain my crying. That service was excellent. Please have a Part 2. I know a lot of the beautiful ladies aren't alive but think about a part 2.
Diana Ross does not need to be honored ...she has received far far too many accolades already. Diana Ross has always been self-serving as evidenced that she did not even bring Mary Wilson with her as a guest who was her partner for years when Miss Ross was coming up.
I'm so glad you posted this...I can't believe I'm just now finding out about it. Thank you!
Thanks you so much for uploading this video. I feel so uplifted by these women. I feel like I can dream again. May God richly bless you.
The SHADE of it all to have all White waiters! LOL
Oprah is very strategic in everything she does chile!
I don't blame her they had all black waiters back in the days reverse it in a good way...
EVERY LAST ONE! EVEN THE COOKS!🤣😂🤣😂🤣☕ Got white folks workin'!
Hahahaaaaaaaah nice
I shouldn’t laugh Lord, I shouldn’t laugh 😂
My GAWD Mariah Carey & Angela Bassett look fabulous.
Love the role reverse: all the butlers are white! lol OPRAH for president 2016.
Role reversal???
Lol good one Thomas hahahahahahahha but I caught that!
Thomas Farmer caught that too! So awesome!
yaaassssssssss lmao
R.I.P Cecily Tyson. You did it with class, grace, and strength. Thank you Oprah for giving her and these other black queens their roses and diamonds while they were here.
I know some women couldn’t come. But imagine if Aretha, Whitney, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Donna Summer, Jennifer Holiday, Lil Kim, Da Brat, Loretta Devine, Audra McDonald, Queen Latifah, TLC, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton & Ciara were there!!!!! Maybe even Wendy Williams even though she’s talked about more than half of the ladies in the room.
This should be shown every Black History Month. So sad that most of these legends featured already passed on. Today's youngins should show as much reverence for the now legends because if it wasn't for them, they wouldn't be where they are at now!
Thanks Oprah! They risked their lives for us!
Janet is amazing
I like how Oprah says in the end of the program known and unknown legends who makes a difference. I am thinking of me and others. Thank you.
This was a Once in a lifetime opportunity. I wish I were there. I mean already famous or accomplished some level of notiriety in the right of being able to attend.
Constantly rewatching this!! What an incredible gathering and tribute to these Legends❤
7:21, let's get a trolley? I would have said, "They can all walk down there"
Good thing you're not Oprah, isn't it? Only another woman would think about all that walking in high heeled shoes.
Good thing you're not Oprah, isn't it? Only another woman would think about all that walking in high heeled shoes.
Lol. Yass Oprah gets wat Oprah wants and includes a trolly
That's what I said. A trolley? really? Oprah has far far far far too much money to spend.
I cried when I first saw this, and I am crying now!
I love watching it over and over.. Change is Good God is god!
good job Oprah showing appreciation to those strong women. Oprah you've tried it making them White men servers. I'm done.... LMAOOOOOOOOOO!
Zevil Gehannivani :)
❤️🙂 Beautiful so many women gone now with honers in their work .
I've watched this Legends series 1-5 several times. I have loved them all for many years. Oprah out did herself. Job well done. 🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰 I never get tired of watching it. 🍾🥂✝️🙏😇🌹🤩😎😘
Talk about giving flowers yaasss
and diamonds❤
I'm looking forward to the marriage supper that Jesus Christ, will have prepared for " People " who believe in Him. It will be more beautiful and Supernatural, it will be a HEAVENLY DREAM
DINNER.
Not all believed in Jesus. Oprah a new age student who believes the universe is God and spike lee subscribe to the Afrikan paths of our Ancestors and others nuetral but we know Jesus was black so we praise him as our Ancestors
Amen mee too🥰🥰🥰
Wit WHITE SERVANTS LOL
Ughhh Mariah 😭😍 Oprah really did it 👏 I feel like we will never have another event like this legendary luncheon/service ✨
I wanted to hear her so bad !!!!!!
Still makes me cry!
Thanks for this!
why is the video named after Tina Turner?
Ms.Tyson and Ms.Ruby Dee started the whole idea for Legends Ball idea because Oprah forgot to invite them to her BDay party. Amazing Legends who left their imprint in the world!! Rest In Power Ms. Cicely Tyson and Ms. Ruby Dee!!
GOD BLESS U OPRAH
HUGS FROM AMSTERDAM

SOOO COOL how Oprah asked to have Janet & Mariah next to eachother, 2 of the 3 Queens of Pop! :D
Giving thanks and speaking the names of ALL the women who have given me Life (Oprah included.)
Thank you.
R.I.P. Cicely Tyson. Get your rest now.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Where was the Clark sisters😏 the queens of harmony!!
Where is Whitney Houston ???
This is so awesome. What very heartwarming thing to do. Oprah Winfrey, you have a very beautiful and big heart. "I Want To Be Just Like You When I Grow Up". May JEHAVAH, bless your beautiful efforts. 😆
For those wondering where Aretha was she might have been sick remember this is around the time she started battling cancer.
Yes you are correct. R.I.P. Ms Franklin 1 of a kind and loved/missed immensely by so many of us 💯👑🎤💖😔🙏😇✌.
If you really knew Aretha, Aretha did not like to fly this is California that's too far for her to travel.
i love this but i wish she would asked whithey houston i know she said she should have thought of asking her but anyway this was just wonderful
She SAID she invited her but she was with BOBBY BROWN that weekend.
Me spitting my wine out when she said "my front lawn". So jealous, in Awe and so happy for oprah. She is a beautiful person inside and out!! :-)
This is why Oprah is so fantastic. She thinks of others all the time. I mean which individual would think of doing something of this magnitude? She is so generous...leaves me speechless. And it is probably why God has blessed her so much. To be clear, I am not talking about the fantastic food etc. I am talking about the "Thank you, we appreciate all you did!"
Her front yard is the size of my country....
Are you poor ?
@@Stupiddd6553 I suppose for you a rich and wealthy country can only be the size of USA or Russia, right???
Needed to watch this part 10 times to realize that Lady Marmalade played at 3:55......
I love Miss. Tyson R.IP.🙏🏽
Heart of gold always thinking about others

How FABULOUS to have Tina Turner sitting next to Diana Ross in your own garden - just amazing!!!!
Yo oprah's front lawn look like a dam tennis court
My Dear Lord.. awesome ...awesome ..awesome!!! Thank you Oprah!!!
I wonder why Ashanti was invited and not Beyoncé 🤔
Quessie Drummond these women influenced opera.
Pretty sure Bey couldn't make it
Because Ashanti was more popular than beyonce at this point. Ashanti’s 1st album/era was huge
Beyoncé was invited, but couldn’t make it
@@mandm471 No she wasn't more popular then, this event was in 2005 after Beyonce had already pretty much mopped the floor with Ashanti two years earlier. Beyonce and Destiny's Child were invited but they were on a world tour for their 4th and final album at the time and could not come.
Well Marilyn Monroe was a beauty! and so was Dorothy Dandridge! I have a big poster of Josaphine Baker and Marilyn Monroe in my living room!
