I no longer recommend buying Meepo boards, and I'm not linking to them on my channel. If you would like to know why, you can watch my review of all of the issues I've had here: ruclips.net/video/qXOF2Iiwskg/видео.htmlsi=K06kUWIoZbxIQC72
I’m new to ESK8, have a Meepo and a Maxfind Pro. Both are great in their own right. I love the battery options and swapping on the Maxfind Pro. Yesterday I made my first mistake. I slowed down to get up on the sidewalk and got back on the accelerator too early and too hard at max power mode. Board went and I stayed. Ended up in an ankle brace but didn’t break anything. My ankle looks like a softball but I can’t wait to get back on. These things are amazingly fun.
Ouch! I’ve done that a few times, but thankfully I’ve just about managed to stay on each time. Sorry to hear about the brace, but at least nothing’s broken! It takes a while to get used to the acceleration curve. Even then, I still get a little caught out sometimes. Which Meepo have you got? I really love these things. They’re just so much fun to cruise around on!
I recently got the meepo v5. when accelerating then letting go of the throttle it doesnt cruise at same speed like a normal board. the momentum is different then a normal skateboard. Is that normal for electric skateboards? Good vid. btw
Thanks for watching. I’m glad you liked the video. Yeah, when you let go of the throttle it slows down more than a regular skateboard because the motors create a little drag when they’re not running.
Ronan, thanks for the video. I have been looking at getting one of these, but as I'm doing the math in my head, I'm thinking that if this board goes 28 miles per hour, but the battery only lasted 6 miles; doesn't that equate to about 15-20 minutes of actual riding at that speed? What was your average speed during your test? Does my math add up to your experience?
Hey! Thanks for watching. Yeah, my total ride time that day was probably about 20 minutes. I was out for longer setting up shots etc. and if you were commuting you’d likely vary your speed more and get longer. But because I know the park, and where I could go full throttle etc, I ran it down pretty quickly.
Hey! I’m from Ireland, so I’m not sure what the rules around electric skateboards are in the UK to be honest. I’d imagine it’s similar to whatever the rules are for riding e scooters. But don’t quote me on that. 😬
⚡ *My first esk8 fall in 2017 was when I was goin over a gap, I reacted and hit brake too hard* 😱😭 Now I just hop over the same gaps lol, like you say at a good speed. Yeah sometimes with range estimates from the brands, I just half it 😂😭 I thought they cut down on overestimates a bit. Great test 👌🏼👌🏼

8:45 after going 28 mph straight into a curb, I can confirm I didn't feel a thing
I did too thankfully it was on grass and I rolled to safety 😂

What are the UK rules on riding these? Can't find any definitive answer.

If you had it on 3 it would go longer. Still hits top speed at 3.
It would. But it’s not as much fun to ride.

Thanks! I’m glad you liked the test! Thankfully I’ve managed to avoid any falls so far. I’ve had a couple of near misses though 😅
