This was a pleasure to watch. Thank you to the beautiful soul who recommended us to this channel. We have watched quite a few of your reactions and it is a proud moment for us to be included in your repertoire. Your reaction to Offer was informative and educational, and it was so fascinating watching you break down our work from the professional point of view of a composer. Can’t wait to see your reactions to the other songs on this album, and eventually Lucid Planet I as well! Thank you friend, you have some big new supporters here ❤️
I love that you posted here to give kudos to Geebz.
You're both worthy. I know that sounded corny but... #truth. 😁
Thank you!
This is my first exposure to you guys and this song is amazing. I’m going to be listening more and I suspect I’ll be buying both albums soon 👏👍
Damn, love you guys. Please keep working on new music ❤️❤️
Long time fan! Love the band!!
Y’all are amazing. Keep the feels coming. Both of you. ❤️
I love lucid planet, one of my favourites on this album is "Organic hard drive" they melt this prog-metal-own sound with psytrance and it's something beautiful, tribal. The production improved a lot since their first album. Pd: Keep going with The Mars Volta please, it wouldn't dissapoint 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wow, never thought I'd see Lucid Planet from any reaction channel. Completely under rated Band. AWLRIGHT. This band is pretty new, like past 4 years new. I refer to them as Australian Tool. Definitely worth diving into them more. Listen and Anamnesis are other good tracks.
And Olm 053!
Did you think of the second album?
i personally LOVE beneath me, it's such a great song and even more when it seamlessly transitions into requiem. such a good band.
Oh man, entrancement on the second album is a treat, love it
Zenith is my personal favorite. That climax is amazing.
Reactor Core has done both albums, and bo jangles has done 2 songs so far.
I've always thought if LP was to release a single, this would be the song. Really catchy and radio friendly.
Agreed. Every other song on this album is down a deep rabbit hole haha
I just discovered these guys a week ago and I have to say they are the most creative prog band I've heard in a very long time. Phenomenal band.
I haven't watched yet but I did share it to Lucid Planet's Facebook messenger. They absolutely love reactions to their music.
Other songs on this album -
anamenesis - amazing journey, tribal beats, beautiful female vocals
Organic hard drive - amazing electronic/progressive mashup( last 2 mins are transition)
On the way - killer vocals, very uplifting (last 2 mins are transition), this is the continuation of offer
Face the sun - middle eastern beats
Zenith - pretty straight prog, great ending
And yes, they use a digeridoo
I’ve known this band since LP1 was a year old. Their albums take you on a journey like no other. They’ve improved so drastically with the second album, so I can’t wait to see what they’ve got to offer in their next record!
I love this band like I've never loved in my life. Anything. I can't express how grateful I am ❤❤ I'v been into this electronic style since my 20yr(dark psytrance). I consider myself as a experimental producer/dj at parties. Before that i use to listen metal music mostly. These Guys from Australia found a way to connect them together into one big mystic/psychedelic masterpiece. How could this happen? They connect unconnectable. This is magnificent piece of art.
Simply amazing! 🎉❤
Also take a listen to Olm 053! Introduced me to the band...
Also this song gives me massive 'humbled by the river'-vibes by Puscifer
That's my definite favorite on I, followed by Grey Feet.
Yooooo it’s a good day when Geebs discovers Lucid Planet!!!
Please please please do Zenith by Lucid Planet! It’s a masterpiece!!
Lucid Planet I is a brilliant album, start the journey at the beginning
Lucid Planet!!!! Some of my favorite music to come out in the last 10 years 👍🏻
No way! I bought their CD a few years ago with a t-shirt. I remember the guitarist (I think?) emailing back saying they were basically excited to release their new music. It started taking some time and I must've forgot. I have bad memory.
So yeah, thank you so much! Gonna go back and listen to their last album and this. So excited! I got chills from the intro alone.
This was awesome, thanks so much for giving Lucid Planet a listen! Organic Hard Drive will be a real trip when you hear it, I hope to see you experience it one day!
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys play live last weekend (Melbourne Australia), and as good as they sound on an album, I can assure you live they are even better. The clarity and mixing of the show was better than most 'big' bands I've seen. Not loud just for the sake of being loud. The energy these guys pump out is stunning. Definitely a band to keep an eye on :)
Finally some Lucid Planet!! This is a band FULL of bangers.
Kolm is also a must check out among these lines.
OOOOHHHH I'M PUMPED. My favourite album of last year. this'll be good
And yes that is a digeridoo your hearing. they love their traditional Australian sounds.
This band is amazing! I don't know much about them, but the first album got me hooked!
I actually was tripping hard on acid while listening to this album along with the visual part and it was mindbending
Just found this band and was surprised that I missed this last November. Something about his band for sure
I don't say this often but the bass... holy moly
I'm love with this band since i found them in 2020
Thanks for giving these guys some love Geebs, I think you would really enjoy Organic Hard Drive off the same album. It takes you on a very unexpected journey but it works so well and keeps you locked in the whole way.
Didn't expected to see these guys in anybody reaction video. They deserve so much more attention. I'll just request check any other track (especially if it's ~10 minute track ^_^)
Reactor Core has done both albums, and bo jangles has done 2 songs so far.
Should also do Olm 053 from their first album. Incredible song! Great band, so underrated.
Lucid planet is one of the greatest bands of all time. People just dont know it yet
Awesome newer band. Listen and Anamnesis are great songs by them
finally 😊 this band is like a universe
That was awesome! So chill and atmospheric.. never heard of them before but I'm gonna throw that album on right now cause I want to know more...
Btw I love the little clips of you in your "day off" mode having a beer and not "in the office" haha. Hope the holidays are all good for you man, wishing you the best 🤘
How did that journey go? Did you try their first album?
@@eatower2 dude so atmospheric, perfect album for soldering pedals. I didn't check out their first album but I should, thanks for reminding me to get back to these guys 🤘
@@jethrofloyd67 another sleeper if you are into more straight prog/tool style music as well is Kolm. I feel they are criminally unknown.
Been listening to them for years! Their debut album is fn awesome.
I got chills!
There is a little-known band called Holy Fawn. Pretty much nobody has heard of them, but they are one of my favorite bands! They deserve all the recognition in the world! I'd love for you to check out their music! They have a song called "Arrows" which I think would be a good song to start with. :)
Yesss, so happy to see Lucid Planet getting some love from you Geebz. They really are doing something special. I hope the other song you mentioned is Organic Hard Drive off the same album. It's one of the boldest songs I have heard in the last 10 years. In fact the whole album is a huge step into unexplored territory for rock music.
Glad to see these guys getting more love. Just found out about them few days ago and have been binge listening their second album. Wait till you get to Zenith! Every track on this album is damn near a masterpiece, but Zenith is probably my favorite.
Please check out the band Widerun! They are an epic symphonic death metal band, think of a more drama Opeth. You'll love them!
I like this song it's a bit different and special for me ! I love your channel and your reaction ! Greatings from germany ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Wow I listened to Lucid Planet's self-titled album years ago and didn't realize they ever released more music!
Love these guys, thanks for helping spread the word. Would love to see another reaction from them. Organic Hard Drive is something completely different to anything I've heard before
I really hope you do more from these guys. Absolutely my favorite band right now!
Ahh enjoying a corona, the best beer! Truly a man of culture, you are! :)
This is my favourite band I discovered this year!
You suprise me geebz! 😊You should definitely do "Apparatus" from their first album! 👌❤️
So happy to see a video on this band
Love these guys. The more exposure they get the better.
I Geebz! Really love your video! Usually listen to them while working in the shop. You've kind of become my work buddy! You really seem genuine with your listening and seems to have a very large appreciation of the music in general. Really like your journey trough metal in particularly....
I would like you to react to some Dilinger Escape Plan.. might be a very curious reaction! 'Prancers' might be a good one ;)
Awesome! Thank you!
I love Lucid Planet so much, you really need to dive into Zenith, my favorite track of the album... but actually it is hard to pick a favorite as the album itself is such a masterpiece! It takes you on a journey and never lets you go.
Thank you for introducing me to Lucid Planet. I’ll be adding them to my listening repertoire. 💕
This album is phenomenal! Offer hits differently
Please do LISTEN (first track off their first album)
Zenith is a seriously incredible song
need more by this band
Hey! Long time watcher, first time comment. I love your videos. Thank you for what you do. I have to say that I’m surprised that no one has recommended either “Paradigm in Entropy” or “Minion” by Bleed the Sky. They are phenomenal songs and I know you will love them.
Wow. Awesome. The boys from 🇦🇺
I absolutely love this. I love you, Geebz, and I love LP. You hit all the points. Progressive music is expansive and encompassing. They fill so many genres. Thank you for this one. I hope to see more. Maybe OLM053…. Please….
I have a recommendation, do evolution by sky harbor. Such a good song with a mix of soft parts and heavy parts that blend really well together.
Seconded. The whole song is amazing but the vocal delivery and feel at 2:58ish melts me everytime.
Trash
Ok my man, you’ve GOT to do this one:
.
Means End - Ominous Notions (Remix + Rehearsal Footage video)
I need a "Anamnesis" reaction, my favourite opening track ever.
I think it’s a good idea to do a reaction and dissection on obscura - when stars collide
It’s a new release of technical death metal and the precedent reaction on this band was very cool !
So gooood to se u reacting to lucid planet. They have won an award for their song Zenith from the same álbum. Check it out
Wow this is amazing, I'm hearing Tool, Soen, and reggae elements...damn this is good
GEEBZ!!!!! thank you for your insight on such wonderful music all the time. i just watched your radiohead series and i'm hookrd on your input, it's like you can feel the music as you hear it, in all of your first reactions.
was wondering if you could check out some stuff from the band Sweet Trip? they're a neat, very glitchy little two-piece shoegaze/electronica band with a little cult following, not the most technical or well-read in terms of music theory, but still, from my own standpoint as a fan (i might be a bit biased) an insanely creative, explosive and sometimes jawdroppingly good act nonetheless. they're a good example of genre-mashing gone right. here's a few suggestions (in no particular order): DSCO, Fruitcake & Cookies, Sept, Milk, Things To Ponder While Falling
Excellent 👏
Thanks Geebz
I would love to see you do Amon Amarth - Pursuit of the Vikings
Hi Geebz, I'm absolutely loving your channel, and I've only skimmed the surface. I was wondering if you'd consider moving into the realms of electronic music? Forgive me if you've answered this elsewhere (perhaps a regular viewer can save you the effort of answering if you've already answered this). The main reason I ask is that you're obvs pretty keen on Radiohead's stuff, and you've got a good smattering of their guitar-oriented stuff so far...but there's a whole other side to them (probably half of their output) which uses less traditional instrumentation. In fact Radiohead (from their 4th album onwards) was my way into electronic music (and I could in fact suggest a similar path for you, with some recommendations to ease you in if you wanted), as they still include interesting melodies, song structures and vocals. This opened up a whole new world to me, and I'm probably now more interested in electronica than guitar-based music. You're clearly keen on stuff which pushes the boundaries of what you can achieve with drums/piano/guitars...but there's a whole other world out there which does the same with synths and computers. I don't know, I think at the very least it would be interesting for the viewer to see your reactions to unfamiliar instruments. OR perhaps you're totally au fait with this type of music and just find it not very interesting (in which case, apologies for being patronising!). Either way, keep up the great work!
Love and peace
Thank you! They are amazing, super layered. Do organic hard drive!
Glad to see you again Geebz! Hope your shoulder is feeling ok. This seems like a band I would like to dive deeper into.... now on to the new music recommendations ...This band hasn't been on yet....Bear Ghost - DOTAB. Bear Ghost is an Adventure Rock band from Phoenix, AZ that fuses intricate musicianship, melodies and song structure to deliver a one of a kind sound.
My man Geebz is totes cute BTW. Total Zaddy.
Great recommendation!
Please react to The Cry by Demilich! Or Spirit Crusher by Death!
This reminded me of a band from my hometown. Good alternative band called Lucid Recess.
I request you to consider their song Dead Deep End for a reaction.
Since you always ask for band info... Lucid planet had an album in 2016 which was really good, in which they used a different singer. They simplified the band from then, and are now 3 core members, guitar, bass and keys. Interestingly, the drummer isn't part of the band, but brought in for the album
The old singer had a high pitched voice; personally I like the new vocals. They have an amazing female vocalist on some songs, and bring in digeridoo and djembe, as well as electronic elements.
They also team up with Mr. Crystal face, who does lots of artwork for them
Wow! His voice sounds a lot like Mudvayne in the intro.
Dude respect... I scrolled through your videos and you did PRIMUS , fozzy , and other grate bands I grew up with... Maybe try Acid bath: (screams of the butterfly) my baby girl was born to that song... Maybe try type o negative: (love you to death). Both really amazing songs
I'd love to hear you react to Billy Strings' Hide and Seek. It starts as bluegrass, and turns into something... It's hard to explain, just listen to it.
I would like to recommend "let it go" by Peter Broderick! it's on of my all time favorites and never fails to make me zone out in a daze, cry like a baby, or feel like there might be hope for me after all, i would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Lucid Planet is great..
Randy Rhoads was notorious for playing ghost notes, by creating differences on the various takes for doubling. Bending a note one way on one take, then playing it differently on the next take so it creates notes that aren't played when mixed together.
Sounds amazing on the album. Makes it very difficult to recreate live.
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
I really hope the other song he was talking about is organic hard drive. Great song from the same album. I highly recommend every one check out all of their work
Geebz, you been saying you love bass so much when it’s prominent in a song. Check out Victor Wooten - The Lesson, or Marcus Miller - Power
React to Death - Flesh and the Power it Holds
Thats some freaky hybrid sounds.
How do you classify this?
Do you even try ?
Symphonic Acid Reggae Hindu Rock?
I would love to see you react to “A New Way To Say Hooray” by Shpongle or any other shpongle songs honestly! Love your vids and I hope you have a good day
Hello, I would highly recommend you to listen to Sólstafir - Silfur refur (Live on KEXP). Sound engineer worked well on bass and drum there (as you like :) ) Greeting from Russia!
Thanks for an amazing analysis. Could you type what is your favourite from the album?
Check out Wheel when you get a chance as well. Bad ass jams that are very similar to Tool compositions
Please do "Anamnesis" from them, it's a masterpiece.
Roxy Music If There Is Something might be a good fit for this channel, quite long but interesting.
Great video Geebz, I ask Harridan from porcupine Tree
I believe zenith is one of their best tracks. Please check out that track pleeseassse. 👍🤘🏼
Please do Dimmu Borgir "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse"
#2 is a great album but #1 is still my favourite from Lucid Planet.
Mats/Morgan Band. If your a composer u just have to hear them. Zappa did 😊
You should do a reaction to caviar by dance Gavin dance. Trust me you’ll like it
listen to egg by mr bungle plsssss, its... an interesting song... also one of my favorite tracks from that mr bungle album
Face The Sun!
Can you check out Freya by the sword or their album age of winters
React to Mayonnaise by the smashing pumpkins ❤️❤️
