I buy a 6 pack of Tempier most vintages, drink 3 immediately then hold 3 to spend 2-3 years in the cellar. It actually ages quite well! Delicious wine. Cheers 🥂
Bonavita Etna rose' , not only my all time favorite rose' but one of my all time favorite wine, just spectacular look for it if you want to surprise your palate, trust me.
Had today a bottle of Cave the Lugny Cremant de Bourgongne Rose Brut on the terrace to some self made bbq, which is a very nice sparkling Rose. Considering the attractive price point of about 12 Euro per bottle this offers a great PQR and is my favorite so far in this years rose wines.
I used to despiiise White Zinfandel. We call it some very unflattering names here haha. BUT I know it sounds heretical, but pop some ice cubes in that Beringer, or some cold selzer, and it totally changes. Think of it as a great base for wine cocktails and punches.
No mention of Tavel in a rosé video? How come? Got the Clos Cibonne in my cellar, won't get home for the next two months though - that's one thing to really look forward to!
We tasted quiet some higher end rosé, including the Tondonia. Considering price and availabilty, Domina del Águila would be the best, but the most impressive one we tasted was the one made by Château Le Puy. In the end of the day it does come down to personal taste, the mood and the bottle ;)
Of the bottles you tasted, I've had, and really enjoyed, the Clos Cibonne and Billecart-Salmon. When I was younger I also drank my fair share of Beringer Zinfandel Rosé. Favorite Rosé: My go to bottle of rosé is Chateau d'Esclans Whispering Angel. But if I got the money to spend, then I'd go with Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon.
I tried the NV Billecart Salmon Champagne Brut Rosé France for the first time last month and I have to say that it was fantastic! My wife and I enjoyed a bottle with her family over dinner and it paired so well with a variety of foods - vegan to meat dishes. Even though it is pricey, my opinion is that it is worth it - especially since it is a special occasion beverage.
I like La Bargemone cuvée Marina; just had a bottle of Cibonne and it was ci bonne. In rosé I don´t want too much challenge; I prefer a simple, happy wine to go with the season and friends. Thanks for this review! My local wine shop usually carries about 40 different rosés in the summer. Lots to choose from.

Clos Cibonne Tibouren is the rosé that made me like rosé. Like someone said in a different comment, it is a wine drinker's wine. But after your tasting I am going to try some Domaine Tempier.
Billecart Salmon Champagne Brut Rosé is such a good one. I had it a few days ago and ordered a few bottles after tasting. A perfect drink for a hot summer at the beach or in the garden.
Unlike other wine styles, I tend to not over analyze rose (at least as much!). It’s just refreshing and fun to drink when the weather is warm, and is food friendly. Still, I have my favorites. Not to be cliche, but my wife and I love Cotes de Provence, or wines made in that style from other places. Sometimes, though, I enjoy a rose with a little more gravitas, like Tavel or (if I can find one) one from Gigondas. Oregon has some Pinot Noir roses I’ve started enjoying, as well.
Well, I'm not that much of a Rosé guy, but there are 2 Rosé wines I quite enjoy, depending on the occasion. One of them is the French VENTENAC Carla Rosé. I personally enjoy the fact that the wine has a low amount of acidity and of residual sugar. It makes the wine easy to drink, especially on hot summer nights. The Other one is something completely different. It’s the Marogne Veronese Rosato from Italy and I think this Rosé is quite controversial. It is a lot heavier than other Rosé in comparison, part of it is the process of aging the wine in barrique barrels. The wine is quite dry and has a lot of characteristics of red wine. Nevertheless, the wine is perfect for some BBQ with red meat and most of the things you will find on your grill. The wine is a strange but welcome alternative for nice summer dinner with friends.
According to CT I have 53 bottles of Rosé in the cellar of which 32 is Clos Cibonne 😅 Although I do also have quite a lot of "orange" wine in similar style to the Gewürz. A matter a fact I'm sipping on an orange gewürz from Alsace right now (2020 Kumpf & Meyer Utopiste) - those kind of wines goes a lot here at home as they're just perfectly refreshing in the mediterranean heat.
I love rose wines, including really rare and even crazy wines like the Duzsi Tamas Cabernet Franc (Hungary, Szekszard, 16% abv barrel aged late harvest wine made from botrytized grapes but vinified bone dry). The oldest non-fortified rose I've ever tasted was Gitton's Sancerre rose 1980 and 1986. The wines were alive, who would expect that?
I’m a big fan of the Nervi, Clos Tibouren and the Tempier from the video. Great choices!I also love Judith Beck Pink and GD Vajra’s Rosato - these two are regulars in our house.
I used to import Chateau Fontlade from the Coteaux Varois… unfortunately the property has changed hands and I am unsure if they still produce any wines today. That was a treat.
Rosé is by far my favorite type of wine. Everything from its versatility to the way it looks in the bottle before you open it, fits what I really enjoy in a wine. What Rosé is my favorite? I'm not picky. But I think Alexander Valley Sangiovese Rosé tops my list so far.

Sangiovese is likely my favorite varietal. I would love to see a video where you talk about Tuscany, Super Tuscans and tasted some iconic Tuscan wines like Tignanello, Solia, Sassicaia, etc! I had the 2014 Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rose and it was almost like drinking a light body red at their cave temperature. Elegant and interesting. It might be more refreshing if slightly chilled or in a chilled glass.
Just with the glass in relation to the Rose champagne, I have gone to a few tastings lately in Australia and some of them are now leaning towards using a wider glass or at the very least not a typical champagne flute. The flute seems to be a thing of the past for champagne now.
I would love to see more wines from Austria on your channel, maybe a video about the wines from the Thermenregion south of Vienna? I think there are a lot of unknown or underrated gems there in those small, local wineries.

Seriously. When I see Rose sections on a list or in any capacity I look for Tavel. Such a deeply flavored style of rose I don't understand why more people don't capitalize on it.
Another excellent video! I rarely drink a rose, but I have a renewed interest in them now that you’ve done this tasting. Thanks to COVID I’ve had parosmia for over a year now. I used to adore a good Shiraz or Pinot Noir and especially red wines from South Africa. Unfortunately, parosmia makes them taste terrible (and smell much the same). However, it hasn’t curbed my interest in good wines - one of these days I’ll be able to raise a glass while watching another of your videos. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share!
My favorite: Château Simone - Palette appélation of Provence - grenache, mourvèdre - a food wine , needs aging. (Not cheap) Second: Minuty (also from Provence). Medium price)
Tempier is always top level....simply loving it.....would love to try rosé tibouren (I have tasted the red one which was pretty good). To my opinion Ott has also high level rosé wines, and of course as already mentioned Tavel.
Favorite rose was either the Gut Oggau Maskerade Rose 2020 or the Els Jelipins Rose. The Gut Oggau was electric and buoyant while the Els Jelipins was more savory and brooding, yet still refreshing. Go to would have to be Moulin de Gassac Guilhem Rose 2020 since it's $10 and completely non-offensive.
Surprised to see no rose from LAnguedoc ROussillon. So many great values and top quality one from there. Especially the one from Roussillon. You should try Miraflors by Domaine Lafage. I find overal they have similar quality to provence one but with a lighter and/or more refreshing finish Also on interesting one i tried was a Picpoul rose, really unique
Nice informative video as always. Of those I've only tried the Muga and the Domaine Tempier (which I really liked). Personally I really like Tavel rosé and recently I've been exploring German Spätburgunder ones. The Schlossgut Diel Rosé was really nice I think. Also Austrian rosé from Zweigelt I find very nice. Jurtschitsch and Jamek make good very nice ones in my opinion.
Hi Konstantin, recently discovered your channel and find it the best wine reviewing and info channel around. I was wondering if you could offer any of your thoughts on half bottles of good champagne? I don't know if it's video-worthy for doing a direct comparison experiment with a few, but would you say in your experience that something like Pol or Bollinger in a half bottle generally wont taste as good as from larger bottles? I've read a few wine critics saying that half bottles "age too quickly", and so the flavour of these champagnes will never be quite as good as from bigger bottles. Is this nonsense or have you ever found this to be true? Thanks for any advice!
I love the tint at the start, but no, no it is not sunshine and warmth, it's cold, windy and raining here in NZ and rosé is the last thing I want to drink right now - but great video and some bottles to note for later in the year! My favourite is the Clearview Black Reef Blush.
The Gewurz caught my attention - Burgenland is mostly known to me for its red wines (as well as dessert wines of Welschriesling) so I was not aware that Gewürztraminer was grown there.
Pierre Amadieu is a great producer for the price. I visited last month and had their 2012 pas de l’aigle with dinner in Lyon that had aged beautifully.
@@tekaldas yeah I agree, the son is a friend of me so I have tasted some wines from this winery :p and I tasted the one you have and yeah, the pas de l'aigle age very well and it's a nice quality/price!
I'm a sucker for Anjou based rose, I've never really loved the dry provence style like many in the trade. If I'm going to drink rose it's usually off dry "Pool party wine", but I love tasting dry styles in case I find the odd bottle that wins me over.
Konstantin, the only one I have in my cellar is the Bandol. Every once in a while I try others from about the same area if they include Mourvèdre. You can (at least if you read the labels on the bottle) taste the layers of the grape varieties - if you have enough phantasy. That does not mean they are not integrated. If the wine is goed they are and form part of the pleasure. When I have guests not that familiar with wine I usually tell them about the Dom Tempier: "one of the best rosés of France". So I was quite anxious about your opinion. What should I tell my guests if you put it down? Now everything's fine. Thanks! I'll keep drinking it with even more confidence. Not love it more, of course (not possible 😄). The price I pay is slightly above 20 EUR per bottle, obviously less than your USD price. I'll try the Bum Bum Cha. Really nice name, popart bottle, interesting find.
I’m ignorant of rosê and think of it as either white Zinfandel or something almost painfully dry. Haven’t had much in years and I should try some again.

Willamette Valley in Oregon is making some very nice Rose these days, with Sokol Blosser being my favorite to date.
Favourite in the the last few years is the T&J Rose by Castillo di Montepo. Beautiful use of Biondi-Santi’s BBS11 Sangiovese Grosso

I love Bailly-Lapierre Cremant de Bourgogne Rose, from the area around Irancy in Burgundy.
My favorite roses are from Tavel-Mordoree, Acqueria, and Trinquevedel.

Tough job retasting on the terrace! Our sangiovese rose is a big hit. Perfect with grilled salmon, all the fat and smokieness.
Best rosé for me so far has to be Ruinart... but Kaena's offering out of Los Olivos is the fave to keep on hand.
One excellent sparkling rose is McBride Sisters Brut Rose from New Zealand
So far my favorite rosado was from Barboursville vineyard in Virginia it was made with Nebbiolo

I would go Nestarec out of these! Really struggle with young Tempier pinks, but ageing some. Beautifully produced episode.

most known Gewurztraminer are pink but my Uncle from Alsace had white skin.Famous institutes have pinkish skin

I really enjoy Thymiopoulos' Earth and Sky, Rose de Xinomavro, which is quite a gastronomical rosé and goes great with Mediterranean vegan dishes.

Surprised to see no rose from LAnguedoc ROussillon. So many great values and top quality one from there. Especially the one from Roussillon. You should try Miraflors by Domaine Lafage. I find overal they have similar quality to provence one but with a lighter and/or more refreshing finish
Also on interesting one i tried was a Picpoul rose, really unique

Ioppa Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo Rusin is a very nice rose wine from Italy👌
Nice informative video as always. Of those I've only tried the Muga and the Domaine Tempier (which I really liked).
Personally I really like Tavel rosé and recently I've been exploring German Spätburgunder ones. The Schlossgut Diel Rosé was really nice I think.
Also Austrian rosé from Zweigelt I find very nice. Jurtschitsch and Jamek make good very nice ones in my opinion.
Hi Konstantin, recently discovered your channel and find it the best wine reviewing and info channel around. I was wondering if you could offer any of your thoughts on half bottles of good champagne? I don't know if it's video-worthy for doing a direct comparison experiment with a few, but would you say in your experience that something like Pol or Bollinger in a half bottle generally wont taste as good as from larger bottles? I've read a few wine critics saying that half bottles "age too quickly", and so the flavour of these champagnes will never be quite as good as from bigger bottles. Is this nonsense or have you ever found this to be true?

I love the tint at the start, but no, no it is not sunshine and warmth, it's cold, windy and raining here in NZ and rosé is the last thing I want to drink right now - but great video and some bottles to note for later in the year!
My favourite is the Clearview Black Reef Blush.

The Gewurz caught my attention - Burgenland is mostly known to me for its red wines (as well as dessert wines of Welschriesling) so I was not aware that Gewürztraminer was grown there.
I like the Muga Rose
I'm not a big fan of rose wines, but the ones I prefered were the Tibouren that you have tasted in the video and a Gidondas Rosé from Pierre Amadieu!
Pierre Amadieu is a great producer for the price. I visited last month and had their 2012 pas de l’aigle with dinner in Lyon that had aged beautifully.
@@tekaldas yeah I agree, the son is a friend of me so I have tasted some wines from this winery :p and I tasted the one you have and yeah, the pas de l'aigle age very well and it's a nice quality/price!
Mein aktueller Lieblingsrosé ist der Pfefferer Pink von Schreckbichl. Genau wie der Muscato Giallo eine Offenbarung.

I'm a sucker for Anjou based rose, I've never really loved the dry provence style like many in the trade. If I'm going to drink rose it's usually off dry "Pool party wine", but I love tasting dry styles in case I find the odd bottle that wins me over.
I wouldn’t say no to a glass of Domaine Ott Chateau Romassan Rosé Bandol served at 10 degree C on a hot and sunny day.

Konstantin, the only one I have in my cellar is the Bandol. Every once in a while I try others from about the same area if they include Mourvèdre. You can (at least if you read the labels on the bottle) taste the layers of the grape varieties - if you have enough phantasy. That does not mean they are not integrated. If the wine is goed they are and form part of the pleasure. When I have guests not that familiar with wine I usually tell them about the Dom Tempier: "one of the best rosés of France". So I was quite anxious about your opinion. What should I tell my guests if you put it down? Now everything's fine. Thanks! I'll keep drinking it with even more confidence. Not love it more, of course (not possible 😄). The price I pay is slightly above 20 EUR per bottle, obviously less than your USD price. I'll try the Bum Bum Cha. Really nice name, popart bottle, interesting find.

I’m ignorant of rosê and think of it as either white Zinfandel or something almost painfully dry. Haven’t had much in years and I should try some again.

I love some Moscato de alexandria rose with desert. Just amazing, another one is Peverella, a malvasia from Era dos ventos south Brazil, and of course, Provance rose wich is the best!
