Everything you are talking about can be tweaked. You can have it default to the rear anytime you want. The reason why it's showing the front camera as you're pulling into the garage is because of the sensors you have. I take it the sensors are picking up there's something close so it's automatically defaulting to the front. I could be wrong on this but I can let you know that everything can be tweaked in the factory settings
Thanks for chiming in. I found out that the reason it changes to the front camera is because the headlights turn on. Unfortunately I don't have any front parking sensors
I bought my 1st Joying - a 11.1" .... it was expensive and it has a few issues. It surely does not allow multiple bluetooth connections. It is not easy to get good support from Joying... maybe it is the language barrier? However the new Snapdragon chip with his 8Gb of memory seems fast enough.
I wired up my 13.3 unit with a dash on/off switch for the rear camera to be used all the time. When the switch is off, the unit shows the rear view camera in reverse. I wired a diode in line with the wire coming from the backup lights (going to signal the joying that it is in reverse). Thus when the car is actually in reverse the signal goes through the diode and tells the head unit to turn on (~0.7V drop through the diode is negligible). Between the diode and the joying I tap a 12V line in that is connect to this switch. When the switch is on 12V is sent to the head unit thus turning on the rear view camera. The diode prevents current from flowing back to the actual backup lights and turning them on. End result is switch off for normal reverse camera operation, switch on fakes a 12V signal to the joying thus showing the rear view camera all of the time.
I don't understand why you need the rear camera running when you're not backing up, but I do agree that it's annoying when companies constantly change things that work fine.
Thanks for chiming in :) reason is I removed my rear view mirror off my windshield. But even if I didn't, I often load up my cargo area to the roof and even if I had a rearview mirror I wouldn't be able to see out the back because all the cargo would be in the way of the mirror.
Yeah I can demonstrate it. Good idea for future video. I recommend getting a single den instead of the double din. The single din allows for a lot more up and down movement of the screen. You won't be able to move the screen up or down once you click the headunit in place. However you can take the screen off remove the pins readjust the pins and then install the screen again while keeping the head unit in the dash. It'll just take about 8 minutes

OMG! DUDE!!! DUDE!!! THAANNKK UUU!!!
@@That60sKidWithToys heck yeah man you're welcome 🍻
Got mine today, I'm setting it all up but it will not allow me to watch any movies while sitting in park. Did you hook up a bypass? I know on most you just ground it out but wanted to make sure before I try it.
I will have to pull everything out to run my RCA cables this weekend but I couldnt wait to see how good it is so far.
I like it so far.
I didn't bypass anything for movie watching. However, in settings is a menu to turn off parking brake for movie watching. Unsure where but you'll find it in settings maybe the hidden settings menu
Is that the default launcher? I used to use Android tablets (long time ago) and with the Nova Launcher there were always weird anomalies like that.
In this video I'm running Nova
Nice video and head unit did you contact them for and update or fix
I did but in usual Joying fashion they said they will let the engineer know... But rarely does it get addressed unless a lot of people request it.
And for this, I'm in the minority
What dash kit are you using? Ive got a 2012 ram 2500 that apparently has the same mounting holes in the dash, just trying to see how theyre miunted. Are you using the one for jeeps or a single or double din unit with dash kit?
Hi Trey. I'm using this for my Jeep Wrangler. Double din version

@@ElevatedVehicles, awesome! Thank you for the quick response! I'll be ordering one very soon.
@@zx6rtrey yes sir my pleasure to help. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend & if you think of any other questions, fire away 😎
How do you get the camera to work while you druve ..i have joyin 11.6
I have a video how I did it on my channel :)
@@ElevatedVehicles ok thanks
Have they fixed the weird camera app issues? Considering getting this unit
They have not
There's been an update that fixes one of the issues I talked about in this video
Which of the issues was fixed?@@ElevatedLiving1
Do these joyous units come out with software updates, fixing any issues such as the backup cam in multiscreen?
They do come out w/ updates but they haven't fixed the multiscreen
Is that your factory rear camera or theirs? I'm thinking about buying this one for my camry but I don't want to buy another camera since I already have one back there.
It's theirs. And I have a video on my channel going over it. It's the nicest rear camera I've seen. It's Tesla quality it's that good
@ElevatedVehicles gotcha. I was able to find a harness that they make for toyotas that should be plug and play and I'll be able to retain my stock camera. If not then I'll go back and get theirs.
I went for the 11.6in screen cause the 13 or 15 will completely block my ac vents lol.
@@TJsVette I think you're gonna love it. Glad you found the harness!
whats up bud ! are you still using joying ? are there any new updates since ? I'm not really feeling the joying only thing nice about it is the size .as I mentioned before you can not do any video calling Google meets , whatsapp and FB messenger so that sucks . Now I recently tried using xbox gamepass It down loads and seems to work but you can't use a Bluetooth controller can't use a xbox controller and can't use a wired controller so idk I feel like putting back my old 10" android 10 back in because everything worked for it joying idk man they're not that good
What's good man!
I am still using the Joying but I agree with you, the way they lock down the Bluetooth is very annoying & unfortunate.
I did just order the Mekede unit & waiting for it to come in.
I'll have a review here on my channel.
They have told me that they have seen my videos & that they do not lock down Bluetooth but I still for sure test it.
amzn.to/41UMjsU
Why cant you just swap the video RCAs so front is rear and rear is front? I realize that you are frustrated with the software but if the rear cam while driving is so crucial for you, this may be a work around.
Certainly yes. We thought of this. But then if we put the vehicle in reverse to go backwards, it would show front camera instead 😞
You can install a $5 change over relay (87a) will invert the reverse trigger output so the headunit thinks your driving around in reverse 👍
@@thegoldensnitch6312 dude! That's true I didn't think about that! Thank you for mentioning it
1:04 Thats what she said LOL
Aye yo 😅
Haha
Im sorry, I saw the chance and I took it ! lol but thanks for the video. I will be buying this unit. There’s one with auto rotation screen but I couldn’t find a video online. Thanks for all the info tho !
@@gorfercr heck yes I love jokes.
That's awesome. Have you seen my in-depth review on my channel? It's 40 minutes long & best to put the video on 2x speed.
If you end up deciding to get one feel free to use the links in my description (shameless plug 🔌) 😅
Saw you subscribed! Thanks man. It's mostly Jeep stuff here but I've got more Joying head unit stuff coming in the future along with other car audio stuff.
Have a blessed night.
Thanks again for subscribing
I think the problem is with the can bus
@@kingofhearts5235 oddly it was no issue on the 2021 Joying version
Valid points, mail suport, they seem to be responsive.
They are pretty responsive actually.
Problem is a couple of us have been asking for them to unlock the Bluetooth for the past 3 years and here we are a brand new head unit that just released and it still has the Bluetooth lockdown.
One step forward one step back in typical Joying fashion
@@ElevatedVehicles I've seen a few comments about bluetooth restrictions but am not aware of the specifics... could you go into more detail before I purchase?
@@Ryzza5 here's the nitty gritty in my thread I made
xdaforums.com/t/official-2023-newer-redesigned-joying-head-unit-discussion-qcm6125-android-12.4619495/
But of all the head units that I've used in my Jeep and tested, I would still buy this new 2023 snapdragon Joying (personally) nothing comes close to it.
If you look on my channel at some of the other videos that I've made about this head unit you'll understand why.
Including my 45 minute long video that goes into a deep dive of the settings & sub menus
@@ElevatedVehicles Thanks for that. Have watched every video on the unit from yourself and Jackofall... and placed an order for a 9" 6125 with volume knob which I presume is also a 2023 edition.
@@Ryzza5 I think you'll like it. Did you get canbus module? Or do they make a plug n play adapter so you don't have to splice for your car?
are joying reliable over several years?
Not sure. I've only had mine for 3 years
You've not had major issues in 3 yrs? @@ElevatedVehicles
@@abbyhassan8527no sir not yet
Does this Android 12 unit can connect iPhone hotspot? I’m wondering is it updated since my Android 10 snapdragon unit can’t connect iPhone hotspot according to WiFi security issue🤷♂️
Mine had no problem connecting to my iphone. Perhaps change your hotspot setting?
did this ever get a fix?
It did not unfortunately. :(
But I am working on an automation that will auto do it when the system turns on for the first time using macrodroid
I dont even have the button for the split screen for some reason
This is enough for me to not buy it, but I want 360 camera as well. Do you have an opinion on the Ekiy T7?
Never had tried an ekiy. Are they pretty slick? I should Google this when I get to the office
@@ElevatedVehicles they do seem awesome. Saab Unleashed has done some great videos on them. Depending on the seller, there are a bunch of different models, so I'm definitely confused on which one to get, but the T7 is what Saab was recommending very recently.
Chinese Head Unit always like this. No manual installation. No customer reply for solution. I purchased one Chinese unit, everything is on reply for the solution. The best, all of you can try Japanese Head Unit is the last choice, but it is expensive.
True they are getting expensive.
It seems Joying did fix some issues we requested.
I made a list you can see here 🙂
xdaforums.com/t/official-2023-newer-redesigned-joying-head-unit-discussion-qcm6125-android-12.4619495/
What’s a good Japanese HU?
Japanese... I don't know of any. But a good chinese HU is the latest Joying HU. I got mine from the link in the description of this video. @@chris360s_
@@chris360s_ I am sure you can use Pioneer, Keenwood, or nakamichi. But for me I can afford that price yet. I just buy a chinese with low price because my car not a new car.
The sound processor is what separates Japanese H.U. from Chinese. Apparently, these new Joying H.U. are supposed to have Japanese sound processing chips installed in them.
what? just switch out the plugs in the back of the radio, front for back.
True. That could be done easily but I wish it was software compliant so we could define what we want the AR camera to default to.
Lastly, if I put front camera on rear line when I go to reverse the front camera would show. Again, because the sofware is made to look at the "rear camera" line.
I've played with it and unfortunately it need to be on the software side of things.
Those preamp voltages in your other video are really disappointing. I run amps and this is not acceptable for me really. Shame.
Tom I agree. The 2021 Joying pre-out was dismal.
This new one is 3v
Glad to see that improved
@@ElevatedVehiclesin another vid someone showed with a dmm they are putting out 4.6volt at max volume
@@champion31337truth! That's fordsixhoe (I think that's his username) that's hella good!
After my firmware update I'm getting about 5.x volts out of mine on my DMM
It an android head unit... can't you just install a different camera app that does what you want?
I'd imagine but I'm unsure of any on the Google Play store 🫤
