So I would have loved to bring you all an “in the field” photography video but this has been a really hard week due to family problems. I just filmed one for next week that will be good so stay tuned for that one :)
Thanks so much Manny. Great advice.
Manny Ortiz link the sticker bro lol
You provide so much value. Family first brother. You inspire me!
Bruh... music?? OMG that’s freaking genius🤯
Manny Ortiz I see u. thanks
Homie needs to give a “7 must have beard products” vid next
You might be my favorite real, practical and honest RUclipsr (photography). I'm 62 years old and have been shooting for 45 + years ( and a lot of pro work) I'm never to old to learn... I used to teach (film days) photography on a collage level and was the master and now with Digital have become the Grasshopper... Thank you...
After watching many photography / videography videos I really got value from this one.
As having too many things to charge - the charging station is just what i need. I didn't know they existed.
And I am the type to shoot in silence because if i put on music I want to dance lol (I dance Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba) but having a portable JBL speaker is a nice thing to have.
I already have the external a good backpack, SSD, Good SD cards and an M1 iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil.
Will be getting a charging station, external speaker and a camera strap in the future.
Thanks Manny!
I love that you are actually talking about accessories. Normally people just talk about their camera and camera gear. I really appreciate!
Geez that charging station looks like a fire hazard lol
Right? It did look pretty awesome though!
same as strap looks pretty weak at quick release points.
its funny how people think they can just connect an endless amount of splitters from a single socket.
@@severgun It's not. I've had two Peak Design Slide straps - one of which is only a "secondary" in case I'm running two cameras at once (which I very rarely am), or if my partner/teammate forgets to bring a a strap. I've done everything from documentary filmmaking, high-intensity sports (on a national level), press photography and events. The strap (and the quick-release points) is durable AF..! :9
@@henningskj Actually I mean weak for antitheft. Cut & Run easy as never been.
Omg the charging station!! I need that in my life haha. Nice video! :D
Julia Trotti hi, Julia! Love your new app :)
YES YES YES YES YES TO THE SPEAKER!!!!!
I work with a photographer who does a lot of senior portraits outdoors and she used to shoot in complete silence. Whenever she would try and change lenses to do anything it would just be awkward small talk or silence with everyone else. One day, I brought a small speaker like yours to the shoot and it changed the environment TREMENDOUSLY! We NEVER shoot without music now.
In the beginning when he’s punching...whoa, that AF is crazy fast switching between his hands and his face. Impressive.
the charging station the pad for editing the think tank are all on my list of things I must have, once again thank you for all the awesomeness.
The speaker for the photoshoot is a great idea. Getting the right shots is about getting in the zone for both you and the talent. We hear so much about equipment on youtube and how you need this camera or this lens we all have been guilty of this I reckon. Getting people in the mood to perform and give you what you're looking for can't be underestimated. Great tip.
Loving the speaker idea, definitely trying that soon!
YES finally someone posts the strap ive been trying to find. Thank you.
Dude, seriously gonna stop by Walmart and pick up a speaker on the way home. I never thought about how much of a positive impact that could have on the shoots - Thank you.
Damn you! I almost made it an entire week without buying something on Amazon!
I bought one too.
You are not alone... Lol! I’ve finally made it as long as 72 hours, without an Amazon purchase👌😜😆
Manny thanks for posting this. Absolutely crucial info here. Im am new to the business and you helped set me straight and feel more prepared. There are so many of these kinds of videos but rarely do they hot home as well as this. Wonderful job!
You’re a beaaaast dude. I see myself in you and find you super inspirational. Beginner photographer with an a6000 and the Sony 35mm f1.8 tryna make miracles with it! Thanks for your content, keep it coming!
Thank you so much, Bro. Everything was good but the last point (music) was great. It worked perfectly for for last week. The two ladies were inactive till I started playing music and everything changed. Positive!
Thank you, I just got a canon dslr and after watching many videos of this sort. Yours was the most valuable information. You gave good input no extra verbage.
Great stuff Manny. The charging station was something I never thought of. I also loved the idea of the hard drive. Much respect sharing.
“…vomitting camera gear.” It defintely made me laugh out loud (literally)!
Thanks for the informative video as always. That’s why you are one of the rare channels that I have the notification bell on for.
I'm a wildlife photographer trying to expand. I've done portraits a lot before and just got into doing it professionally. That speaker idea was actually really good. I usually shoot in silence or in nature but in doors, makes a lot of sense actually. Thanks for that
Using music while shooting is probably the best advice i had never thought! Great thanks from France
The music! Yesssss!!! Brilliant!
Yes!, digging that charging station! I've been shooting with the 1st JBL speaker model for awhile now. It's really awesome (like you said) when shooting on the fly and having it on the outside of the backpack where the model is moving all over the place.
that speaker, so simple and smart ... it's gonna work ... thank you
Dude quality video, really helpful. My first DSLR delivered Tuesday so these 'basic' videos are a huge help 👍
Never really thought about the mini speakers. But I can definitely see why it's so effective in the photoshoot! Thanks for the tip!
Love the idea of the speacker, never thought of that one, thanks Manny
Thanks for the detailed gear listing. Always interesting to see what others use. I am limited to what I can buy with a family to support but it is nice to keep up with ideas!
You are a blessing man. Thank you for the tips!
Thanks Manny! At first I thout it was gonna be the typical "photo gear" video, but now I feel so lucky to have stumbled in it. You gave me some really interesting tips!
Cheers!!
Hari, from Rome, Italy
Nicely done! I recently discovered and bought the Peak Design Slide after first trying Blackrapid, and yes indeed the Slide is a thing of beauty. Those quick releases are nice indeed, great design, plus the SPEED AND EASE of adjusting the strap is unmatched by any other product I know of. Good suggestions all round:)
Thanks for sharing 👍
Loads of good ideas and accessories especially the music never thought of that
Thank you for your advice and just getting to the point. It's the best!
Amazing #teacherManny your totally right I have bring a speaker to my last 3 shoots and the vibe is way different than when you are shooting in silence, thanks for all the tips and hard work
Manny GREAT Video! Love the content!! ...keep doing wonderful work.
I too bring my JBL Flip speaker to the shoots, it helps a lot with the overall mood like you said. Usually ask the client the kind of music they prefer and just go to a song and create a station based on that in spotify. It does the trick and you can leave the music unattended and just focus on shooting.
Great video yet again, use same type of strap and sd cards and just bought myself a new backpack last week for my trip to New York in September. Keep up the good work Manny
Got a JBL extreme, love it. Never thought of taking it on a shoot. great idea
Great tips, Manny, much appreciated.
Always appreciated my bro. Your videos really helped me out a lot. Sending love from Chicago also
Thanks for all the advice in this video! Also, I appreciate the link links of your gear and telling us what you use.
That speaker idea, clever and brilliant, many thanks.
Yeah! I've been using JBL 3 charge and it changes the vibe drastically!
I do a lot of in studio headshot/portrait work, and I can attest to the 'have music playing' trick. It really does make a world of difference in the photos- like night and day difference. Good call
Dude... the speaker makes a world of difference! We gathered a crowd the other day while shooting my niece's senior photos because we had music that set a cool vibe.
Hahaha nice man
love your channel brotha! keep up the great work!
I was surprised when you displayed the JBL Flip as a must have. I do agree. I use it at my photo sessions as well. I originally purchased one for some outside tent shows I did in 2016...found out I don't like doing tent shows. I stopped doing tent shows and put the JBL in the closet and forgot about it. 2018 comes and I move to a new apartment with much more space only to find the Flip while moving in. I currently use it as a laptop speaker while doing photo sessions in my studio. Glad I found it. It has a great sound for the size.
The speaker idea is brilliant. I did a headshot session for a friend, and I can completely understand the "awkward silence" thing. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for recommending a detachable camera strap, idk why but for some reason even thinking about a detachable one just flew over my head. One more recommendation thought would be a good camera bag insert specifically if you use a messenger bag like myself, great vid bro 👍
Like always, keep up the good content and much love from Canada!
I love your videos so much. They’re always informative and to the point. Thank you thank you thank you ☺️🙏🏼
Man, thank you very much. Your effort is not in vain. Great video. Love your work!
I'm a very amateur photographer and recently starting listening to music when I go out to shoot. Changed my mood totally. Can't do without music now
Wow. that charging station! Never even crossed my mind to get one until now. Thanks!
the speaker advise is the best! thank you.!
woah the speaker idea is so great!
:25 and here we have a wild outlet curious about life and all it’s wonders
I appreciate the JBL Tip! I have one for my morning showers
Really great tip with the music! can't wait to try it out and see how big of a difference it makes.
Thank You - You answered so many questions for me.
Love this Manny, great work!
Ha, I also did play music during my head shoot sessions for creating the vibe. I didn't realize others do that as well. Cool tips, thanks!
I love the charging station. Thank you for the recommend.
AWESOME as always dude .Thank you very much
I just purchased that strap before I saw your video... I agree with your recommendation 100%...
Haha Nice! Yup, JBL is a must!!!
that charging station is GOT!! i need that so bad! thanks manny!
I love the Peak Design quick release clips too... I attach two extra round clips to each shoulder strap on my backpack and when I unclip the camera I can attach the strap to the spare round clips on the backpack keeping the strap safe and secure when I need it next...
Awesome video! I bought the latest version of the strap, the hard drive, and and the backpack is on my wish list!
Loved the speaker tip! ⚡🦊⚡
thank you so much for suggesting a charging station it saves lives i love it so much i use it everyday. I charge everything at once my camera batteries, my headphones, wireless speaker for shoot gimal batteries, batteries for my led lights
When I worked as an engineer/programmer I had problems in my right wrist from tendinitis/ carpal tunnel. I found that by playing/ practicing on the piano relieved my symptoms. Playing the piano forces you to keep your wrists, forearms, and hands flat and parallel for strength and flexibility. If you maintain this while typing or working on the computer you'll be fine.
Praying for you and your family. Will miss you but Family First Always! God Bless!
Manny, great tips; thank you for sharing.
Great vid again, Manny, nice to see you again
Love number 7!!
Bless up Manny! This was good 🙏
some great tips Manny.... I must be doing good as I have most of them.... deffo gonna pick up the portable speaker ...having the right vibe on a shoot is oh so important

I’m a big fan of Peak Design gear and have the strap and their new tripod and their Sling bag. New subscriber, looking forward to your future post!
Love Peak Design Slide! I have integrated the Peak Design anchors to work with the Kirk L Bracket and Spider Pro (using Arca-Swiss Clamp). I also have the Peak Design Everyday Backpack. Love the design and how quick and easy to set up and change the dividers.
In regards to Carpal Tunnel, I have the mild form of it. Every once in awhile my hand will lock up. After years of working in IT and doing repetitive motion... You are spot on and its no joke! One of the main reasons why i switched from DSLR/SLR to Sony Mirrorless Full Frame.
Thanks for sharing your recommended items!
Albert Wong could you describe more your PD Slide adaptations?! Sounds interesting!
I agree with you on bringing portable speakers at shoots. makes big difference
So appreciate your work Manny, thanks for all the tips! The charging station "will save you fights with your significant other" lol, yup. Well aid. The strap looks super useful and love the speaker tip, never thought about it.
“It’s super cheap it’s only about $100”
My wallet: yeah…cheap:(
I mean it's only add one zero
You’re broke bro. I am too.
I've ALWAYS wondered what those red/black accessories hanging from the side of the camera were! Peak Design clips... I thought it was some sort of flash transmitter [smh]
The charging tower has been a huge improvement for me. Thank You.
A lot of great "Evergreen" tips in this one , Thanks
Will buy all these. Thanks for sharing
Ha! The air freshener got me! I have to do that every time!
First time I hear anyone recommend a speaker and it makes a lot of sense. I like to throw headphones in when I’m shooting car events or real estate.
That charge station is incredible. My "station" is a mess and i'm constantly swapping plugs because I don't have enough. What a great find.
the speaker idea is awesome! thanks Manny :)
thanks for sharing these with us!
you are so right i will have to grab some of these!
Thank you, brilliant advice
I have the same mouse and Wacom Tablet. Highly recommend, great products that makes a difference in editing.
That strap is nice! Thank you for sharing.
as a novice I want to thank you for all the awesome info you give
Hey Manny. Love the vids. Can you do a video or speak more on using the Wacom Tablet in your edits. I’m intrigued. I just would love to see how you manage it. Thanks.
Great tips! especially about the music part, something you never really think about until someone else brings it up or your experience it ^^
