Reminds me of my dad who belonged to the VFW for all of his adult life. I think I may have even saved a VFW hat that I found of his after he passed away. It seems like the old timers are more dedicated to these groups then the young ones. It seems like it's hard to find people these days as patriotic as the older folks were. Horseshoes, wow! When my dad was in the Knights of Columbus, they would organize family picnics every summer and horseshoes were always a part of the games that the adults would play. Usually, it was just the men who would get together at the picnics for a game or two. They would have separate games for all the kids to play with prizes for everyone, even the losers. My dad loved horseshoes and bought a set for home that we would play as a family in the backyard. I never see or hear about anyone playing that game anymore. I'm not even sure they have these huge picnics anymore like I remember going to with my parents every year. I've said this before, but I'll say it again. I am so glad I grew up when I did. Families were closer then and family activities were constant. Things are so different now. These kids today have no idea what they're missing out on. But I am so grateful for all of the wonderful memories that my parents left me. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! Thank you for remembering our troops in your beautiful little video!

It was very nice of you to include this as sadly it is a disappearing way of life. Many all across the nation are either folding or merging as the WW2 veterans pass away and the Korean conflict close behind. Many of the veterans from Vietnam did not wish to be associated with being in the service. Fortunately it looks like they still have a fair number of active members and can continue in operation. Your efforts are appreciated
