I seem to remember seeing this, or very similar, in 1975, shot on a Bolex by an RMIT photography student.

The chaos from no traffic lights at the junction then. But then again everyone needed to take care and have courtesy.

Fascinating upload Gezza! No surprise there weren't traffic signals yet because the signal controllers (grey box) weren't able to control so many movements as they can today. Arrows were rarely seen until the later controllers of the 1970's. Such as LM Ericsson controllers.
Thankyou for another great upload Gezza👍🙂

How the hell was there’s no traffic lights there in 1975. We really have some weird people working in the public service.

Being played at that speed the Camberwell Junction really does look like a Spaghetti Junction. The old W-Class trams have long since ceased from passing through it too.

what nightmare that was why did it take so long to get lights put in?

    Two things:
    1. Don Scott jeans on the corner (Hawthorn Great)
    2. Jezza...in another one of your clips you stated unknown car wash in Melbourne. Well that car wash was the Golden Fleece car wash Camberwell Road East Hawthon. It was demolished and rebuilt about 10 years ago but is once again a servo with car wash and it's now Caltex.

A lost AUSTRALIA, now no Football, no Holden cars, No w-class trams, hardly any Aussies, either.

Football will be back,, Holden cars are still around but not as good as Japanese, W class trams are outdated and only operate on the tourist routes (for a reason!) and your last point is ridiculous (especially for a video about Camberwell) and it shows how narrow minded you are. How is life in the 1950's???
